I get LENS (Low Energy Neurofeedback System) treatments with Robert. I started working with Robert…read morea year ago after I had an episode that landed me in the hospital. My symptoms were severe anxiety from trying to get off progesterone (I'm a sensitive snowflake). My blood pressure was sky high and my regular doctor didn't know what else to do for me, so she suggested neurofeedback. My anxiety was so severe I was crawling out of my skin. I felt like I was going to explode. I had seen a friend a few days earlier that looked amazing- she had healed from her bout of anxiety after getting off her meds and she recommended Robert, so I scheduled with him. The image of her peaceful face in my mind's eye was enough for me to commit to giving LENS a try for 10 sessions. During the 4th session my anxiety went away! That was enough for me to know LENS was for me. Over the past year, Robert has completely changed my entire neuroendocrine system! He has cured with LENS my supposedly incurable conditions of Adrenal Fatigue, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia. (look it up- Mayo clinic says it's incurable). I started treatment on March 12 and a few weeks later on April 4 was my last migraine day. (I had been averaging 3 days a week of migraines for about 7 years). I haven't had a migraine since! I'm completely off all meds including hormones, B12 injections and Metformin! I've got energy like I used to! I'm no longer napping, no longer bed ridden, I have energy to give and serve. I have energy to have job again. My gums are no longer inflamed with the pockets at the dentist previously going from 5's and 6's down to 1's, 2's and a couple of 3's. My muscle and joint inflammation is gone. My hormone levels are higher than when I was on the meds. I'm sleeping so much better. The inflammation markers in my blood are gone. My tachycardia, arrhythmia and POTS have resolved. No more heartburn. I have normal days now like I used to live! What a relief! Robert is special and the best LENS practitioner to see because he is a doctor that truly knows what is going on with the brain and body. He has extensive training in many types of neurofeedback and the brain. He uses LENS neurofeedback because he gets such quick and long lasting results. His expert and extensive training helps him customize the LENS protocols to fit my special brain and body issues. He spends the time and energy to treat me correctly and maximize my healing. When I first started treatment, I went twice a week because my nervous system was highly activated (it was an emergency situation). I started feeling much better in the second week! As my brain and body has calmed down, I only go in once in a while for a LENS treatment. I had been struggling with my chronic conditions for 9 years. It was like being on a roller coaster of cascading symptoms. Now I feel stable and am rebuilding my physical health to lose weight I gained being sick and rebuild my physical strength and stamina. (I used to be a massage therapist with a full practice, taught yoga and dance, hiked daily, swam, weight lifted). This next year my focus is "Build my body, build my business". I'm so excited to now be able to have a future- one I can actually count on and commit to. I'm blessed. It feels like the reset button has been pushed on my entire physiology. The "malware" has been taken out of my body and now I'm functioning! Robert and LENS has given me my life back! I'll never be able to thank Robert enough for helping heal me.

His office and his approach offer a sense of positive energy and healing. Our initial sessions included Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS) and the use of a photonic stimulator in combination with talk therapy. Dr. Ray is highly knowledgeable and well-trained in the use of LENS, exhibiting an unwavering ethical responsibility to his clients. I am also in awe of his ability to be equally patient, kind, and non-judgmental. He told me from the beginning he would not give up on me - something I had difficulty accepting; yet four years later, here we are. Over time we have also incorporated hypnotherapy and guided imagery into our sessions. I have never met someone as committed to seeking out current trends in research and professional training as Dr. Ray. It is a rarity to find someone as devoted to his clients as he is. I am here today because of Dr. Ray and his commitment to my overall health and well-being. If you are searching for someone who will actively participate in your healing process, I highly recommend him without hesitation.

Monica is one of the most professional and caring therapists I've ever had the pleasure of talking…read moreto. She has provided my family and I a tremendous amount of support and guidance. Her approach is professional, yet personal. She doesn't make you feel like you are just a client. She makes you feel like a person. She listens and uses her intuition to provide an approach that works. When it comes to working with couples, she is fantastic. She gets right down to the root of the problem and provides the support and solutions needed to solve them. I love that she is so kind and caring, yet direct and to the point. I also love her approach when it comes to children and teenagers. If you have a teenager that is bullied, depressed, suicidal, or otherwise self-harming, she can help turn it around. Her intuition and experience are above and beyond what I expected. Her approach with children is amazing. Her tactics are never the same. I love that she does not provide a blanket approach. Instead, she optimizes the way she handles her clients based on what it is they need, which is especially true for children. If a child needs to play, she encourages them to play. If a child needs to talk, they find it easy to talk with her. The vibe she gives off makes you feel as though you can talk to her about anything. The best part is that she listens and gives feedback that is needed to help overcome any issues. I know I've had reservations in the past about therapist, but Monica was able to help me overcome those reservations. The experiences I've had with her have helped me realize that seeking therapy is one of the best decisions I could have made for myself and my family. Thank you, Monica!

Monica has been a reliable and supportive therapist for our family through some major transitions…read moreover the past few years. She is gentle but direct, kind but firm, and quite intuitive. She is great with children, and able to vary her approach depending on their needs- to go for a walk, to play, to build things, to play music, to draw, to write letters - depending on how the child is doing that day. When things in our world were more intense, we saw her more frequently. When there were less issues, less frequently. She is flexible and willing to accommodate if a joint sibling session is needed, or if a parent needs to provide updates for the first few minutes. She provides great recommendations on other resources too.

The most incompetent therapist I've ever worked with. Allan means well and isn't malicious, but…read moreeven the most well-intentioned therapist can cause harm. He uses therapy sessions to deal with his own loneliness after losing his wife. I do understand and empathize with how empty his life must feel losing the love of his life, but it's irresponsible for him, as a professional therapist, to use paying clients who are dealing with their own pain, to fill his time so he can talk about his own life. Quite often he wasted my therapy time to talk about his dog, his children, and his late wife. It's his responsibility to find his own support for his personal issues, outside of therapy sessions where he is the paid therapist. I came to him with some extremely difficult and sensitive topics. He was not only unhelpful, he caused more harm. I told him what some of my triggers were. His job as a therapist is to navigate those triggers carefully. Instead, he actually repeated the exact words my horrifically abusive father had used to harm me. Absolutely unacceptable coming from a therapist. Every time I told him my feelings about something (embarrassed, upset), Allan's response was, "Don't feel embarrassed". There are 100 unskilled people out in the world ready to dismiss my feelings and tell me not to feel them. If that's what I had needed, I would have gone to Reddit. Instead, what I needed was a skilled therapist to help me validate, process, understand, contextualize, accept, and manage my emotions. Allan wanted me to repress my anger. He kept telling me not to feel angry and told me it was harming me, which is so wildly unhelpful and outright wrong. Anger is a useful and empowering emotion in the face of extreme injustice, which I was witness to. I experienced some of the most heinous acts a person can endure and anger was a vital emotion to get me away from it. How dare a psychologist with a PhD shame me for having appropriate anger, without helping me process it in a healthy way. There are therapy modalities for that and Allan was ignorant of how to help a client recover from abuse and injustice. I disclosed that I had an eating disorder. Allan's advice? "Don't do that". In the history of eating disorders, telling someone not to have one has worked exactly zero times. If that's what worked, we wouldn't have ED clinics. He wasted half of my session talking all about his daughter and her struggles. It was my session and I went to him for help. I didn't go to him for stories of other people. He didn't address the root cause or anything. He asked me to keep a food diary, which is an absolute no-no for someone who already has obsessive control issues over food. He really had no idea what he was doing. I set boundaries with him and he repeatedly ignored them. After telling me to set clear boundaries with my family, he ignored my reasonable requests to him. A therapist is supposed to teach clear boundaries, not break them. When I told him that being estranged from my family was difficult because I don't have family, he said, "What am I? Chopped liver?" What an inept response. First, a therapist is supposed to help a client avoid transference, not encourage it. Viewing a therapist as family is just so inappropriate. To add to that, my following session with Allan, he asked if I thought I was ready to end therapy. So, he wanted me to view him as family, not deal with my feelings towards my actual blood family, and then promptly asked to end our professional relationship, essentially recreating me losing "family" again. Absolutely irresponsible and terrible therapy. Second, that expression is one heavily laden with guilt and a client could easily shift the focus from the issue at hand into feeling bad for making the therapist feel rejected. Similarly, when I expressed doubts about being able to date, given my upbringing, Allan said something about how he would have dated me. I would wholeheartedly not recommend him to anyone needing real help.
