We found Lady Sugar Shack by accident while vacationing in Daytona. What a great surprise and true hidden gem in the Daytona Beach area. Walking in felt like coming home to Mom's for dinner. It is warm , inviting, and cozy. The food is absolutely delicious- all made from scratch family recipes. The macaroni and cheese was the best I've ever had- and the barbecued chicken was really good too! The service was excellent- this is a family owned and run restaurant- with the sweetest Mom and daughter duo. You can feel and taste the love they are serving up. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely return next time we are in Daytona. read more

Best BBQ I have found, hands down. As I'm writing this review, I'm enjoying some of the extra banana pudding that we got to-go. So let me back up. This is an itty bitty food truck on the side of the road in the parking lot of Division 3(I think it's 3) Weapons. We live 40 minutes or so from here and make the trip out here EVERY single time we have a craving for BBQ. What I have tried: Ribs: Fall of the bone meat, amazing flavor and I could almost drink the homemade BBQ sauce Pulled Pork: Smoked to perfection, great flavor + of course, that BBQ again Mac n Cheese: a perfect cheesy goodness, but not too cheesy. Great flavor, always hot and delicious Baked Beans: these could be dessert (only if they are out of banana pudding) they have the best flavor of any baked beans I have had - my husbands favorite Coleslaw: not your typical coleslaw dressing but oh man, again - flavor is on point. It goes great on top of the pulled pork too Potato Salad: my husband loved it, great chunks of potatoes - just not my first choice, but that's ok because I have a hard enough time making up my mind on the other sides! Now, the banana pudding... we heard about the banana pudding from friends before we tried this place almost a year ago...however, they were always sold out when we went. We got to try it today and it was worth the wait . It was actually so good that we waited for them to make another batch (they sold out while we were eating) to be able to take 2 of them home for later. Moral of the story: get the banana pudding. 1st -they do not answer the phone I called straight 2 hrs before someone answered, before I wasted my time and gas as I did on a Friday. Arrived menu is hard to read, the menu display should be easy for the customer to read. Say less I will refer this place to nobody. The lady taking orders seemed bothered/annoyed and I told her 3 minutes prior give a moment. Mind you I am not holding up the line ok. Mindful it is about 3pm, how in the heck are you out of sides like frfr‍‍. $19 dollars later I am presented with a 1/2 plate , of equally burnt meat chicken and ribs with 2 slices of white bread on the bottom. This is a to go only food stand so no seating options. Fine I was ok grubbing it out in my car under the large shaded trees behind the truck. The smell was on point so I decided to do a sample tasting before heading home 28 mins away.All the chicken and ribs were burned and not eatiable. The sides were ok potato salad good wish it was colder. The baked beans taste like Patti L sweet potato pie, a mess too much nutmeg and cinnamon. I returned the food and said it was burned, the same rude lady took back my order and said nothing. Next thing I see her handing me a cash refund even though I did not ask, I just wanted a replacement. She said we out until tomorrow and the WTF look I silently gave her made her change her mind. Next thing I know she getting me fresh meat off the grill and made me a whole new plate. All and all I will not return to this place as much as I go out my way to support SBBS, I am one and done with this place. It's unfortunate to be missing out on money/business there are alot of hidden city, county and state employees nearby that you will miss out on. Guess what she never apologized and as respectful as I was to her, said rude lady slammed the curtain on me. Now I gave her 2 times to fix it and or appologize, she did not flitch. Fine now you gotta wear this L for all to see. And what baffled me was there was a steady stream of PWOC coming and going. During this whole interaction, I guess they use to burned meat I guess, this will no go well in other more populated spaces. #Notworththeuturn. read more

The food was good but not exceptional considering the cost for the meals. Paid $18.00 for three ribs, 2 sides and a can soda, the ribs were good but not worth paying $18.00 for. The same for the chicken. You get two pieces of chicken and two sides with a canned soda for $14.00. The chicken was burnt, and they covered it up with lots of sauce. The only reason we stopped there was because we were driving back home and couldn't locate any place else to eat. read more

I have been to at least 300 bbq places from west coast to Texas, KC, St. Louis, Memphis. Alot of places. You have the corporate bbq which is meat put in a machine and timer set, come back in 8 hours, it is usually good. But it's not like this. Meat put in a decades old smoker that could tell stories all it's own. The ribs were smoked to absolute perfection. Juicy and tender. Smoke flavor from real wood not pellets. The sides were great. Mac N Cheese was killer. The slaw was juicy and freshly made. The mustard sauce was of her own making. I loved it. Not kidding ya when I say.
