It's was my birthday (January 4th). I texted Andrew the night before to see if he was available in the morning and he told me no. I asked him to suggest someone good for me to go to because I'm picky. He suggested Leah. She wasn't there when I got there so I took anyone. I walked in right before 11. I waited about 10mins to be seen. I was seen by an Asian woman. I think her name was Sinat. Well that was the name on the apon she had on. I was very specific in telling her everything I wanted. I should have took the red flag right there because she didn't know very good English and I had to respeat myself several times. She seemed like she was getting frustrated with my requests. I wanted coffen shaped nails. Acrylic not too thick and for the nails to be not too narrow. Glitter & red bottom with a curve. Something so simple compared to what I normally ask for. The acrylic was thick. She made my nails look too narrow. The proportion was total off and the length wasn't even. I have no curve. She had to keep asking someone else to translate for her or when I told her something she would say "yea yea yea" So frustrating. The corners of my nails weren't polished. On top of all that I didn't get out of there until almost 3pm. I watched people get their nails done after me and walk out before me. I told Andrew I was upset and didn't like my nails and he told me "I got you next time" but they don't take appointments. The only thing I was happy with was my pedicure, but my nails I wanted to pop the off as soon as I left. After spending $98 I was gonna make it work. I still tipped the woman $10 even though I was very unhappy. I'm a hairstylist and I know what it feels like to spend time and not get tipped. So after speaking with Andrew on the phone and was told I needed no appointment I stopped by after work. Arrived at 6:36p.m. on the dot. He decided to give me to a female worker which no one wanted I tried giving her a chance but I stopped went to Andrew and said hey I'd like one of the Jamaicans to do my nails. When I walked in there was an entire discussion bouncing back and forth in the shop about "who's turn it was." The place feels and looks messy. I'll let the pics speak for itself. I was in so much pain from the filing and the excessive acetone use. I will not use the young lady's name to preserve her integrity but her nails were so pointy and long! I've been going to this nail salon for some months now and basically they don't know what customer service entails... I've switched from one nail technician to the other and apparently it's an issue... I got a full set with colored acrylic and rhinestones on four fingers for a total of $65. My nail was lifting by the third day... then the rhinestones literally started coming off by the next day... So I decided to go back to the salon...I was told by the nail tech that did my nails that I would have to wait since she has two clients before me... So I asked if I could let someone else fix the nails and she said yes... So I'm thinking I would be attended to.. Avery which was my nail tech before was available so I asked her... This lady literally ignores me and did a customer who came in after me... I guess she was being petty... I was so mad and decided to storm out of the salon.... I've always went there to do my nails and I give big tips when I'm pleased and all the nail techs that do my nails know this... I would never go back after my experience this afternoon... So I came to this place because I was hoping they would know how to create Stiletto Nails, which are he point nails celebrities like Rihanna sport and they did! Place wasn't hard to find at all. About two blocks from the train station. 2 or the 5 train to 219th street in bronx. My sister and I got there around 10:15am, 12/31/2010. To our surprise there wasn't a line yet. To enter the nail salon, we had to be buzzed in. There was one individual there, a male working on someones nails, while his second customer waited for him. He instructed my sister and I to have a seat and that someone would be in to help us in a couple of minutes. Soon enough other employees started to arrive. I was placed at a table with the owner of the salon. I told he exactly what I wanted and she did them perfectly. She listened, was friendly, efficient and communicated well with me. After browsing thru Yelp I found this place and thought that I could get my eyelashes and nails done in one place at one shot instead of trekking all the way to 125th Street for my eyelashes then all the way back up to Mt. Vernon for my nails. I read the review from the person who said this place was good, so I took a chance and went there last Friday afternoon. The place is decent, you can tell they are trying to keep it a notch above the typical hole-in-the-wall type joints. They've got a huge flatscreen tv, and the majority of the staff members are young and hip. Nice vibe goin on in there, I felt welcomed and was pleasantly surprised to be greeted as soon as I walked in. I was told by the guy at the front to sit with Maria, and that Cindy would do my eyelashes. Maria is a little bit on the older side, but her nails looked really nice so I figured she would be able to hook me up too. As soon as I sat in the chair Cindy came over with eyelash remover to take off my old lashes and I had to keep my eyes closed for at least 15 minutes which meant I couldnt see what the hell Maria was doin to my nails. When I was able to see what she was doing, she had already put these fat tips on my fingers and I thought she was skilled enough to know how to shape and sculpt them down to a more natural look. Long story short, i ended up with some thick, wide, and long french manicure with gel overlay on my fingers, and I was not happy. I made mention of the dislike of my nails to Cindy and she told me to tell Maria to fix them, but in my opinion they were unfixable, and it was a really awkward position. I even talked to Andrew the owner or whatever, and he told me it was in my hands. Finally after a while I left and came back and had her cut them down. She literally just cut them down, didnt file or reshape them in anyway. Now I just have shorter wide french manicured messes on my fingers. they look like fricking shovels. SMH Oh, my eyelashes you ask? Well I usually get my eyelashes done in Harlem for 18 to 20 depending on the length/style I choose. I asked Cindy to give me some short to medium lashes which were supposed to be applied in a gradual manner so that the end result would leave the far edges of my lashes slightly longer than the rest, kind of a sexy kitten look. Cindy didnt do that. She MIXED my eyelashes all together and of course the mediums outshadowed the shorts so I looked like a drag queen when I got up. I will admit that I was happy with them at first even tho they didnt look the way I wanted them to, but as the day went on and I got home, I began to realize how fake and costumey they looked. Well the problem didnt stay with me long because they began to fall off my face within 2 days and I'm heading to Cinderella to get them redone the way I like and I'm sure they'll last me at least 10 to 14 days before they need to be redone. I liked the people, but I'm giving this place a real thumbs down. There is no way the owners of that shop should have let me walk out of that shop with these horrible nails. I wont be going back EVER. Did I mention that they charged me $35 for my nails and $24 for my eyelashes? SMH The best thing about heading to that place is that they are right next to a Golden Krust that has the most delicious food ever! read more

This place is awesome! I walked in on a ransom Sunday with some seriously jacked up nails. I live in White Plains where the nail game is very wack. I tried to get stiletto nails and they came out a misshaped hot mess! ...And then can ANDREW! I was desperate so I went on yelp and saw his reviews. He is a nail genius and so dam pleasant I wanted to become Facebook buddies. Lol! Mind you, this place is in the hood so don't expect ambiance...but dam the service is top notch! OMG! I'm so excited to be writing this review right now. After 8 years of separation, I finally found my long lost ANDREW! Lol. Andrew used to do my nails years ago! I went away for a little while and lost his contact. When I went to find him he had moved & no1 could tell me where he went. Years and years of frustration with other nail techs not knowing how to do my nails the way I liked, I gave up. Now after years I started getting back into wanting nails and again the frustration began. But not for long! I ran into my cousin and I glanced her nails & fell in love! She told me Andrew on 219, but still it didn't dawn on me. So I went. Got my pedicure(awesome) eyebrows(excellent) and my nails(amazing) done. Anyone who gave this place 5 stars must be either workers/ friends of someone who works there/mad ghetto or smoking some type of crack because this place was terrible. Ok. Usually I get my nails professionally done in queens but my step daughter and I were in the bronx so I said why not. We were supposed to both get mani pedi. My stepdaughter's nail turned out lovely. I on the other hand had to deal with Keisha and her bad attitude and bad wig; her attitude might have been a result of her awful hair but that's besides the point. I told her what I wanted and she went to work. All was going well until she started filing. She was so rough that she cut all but 1 of my fingers. I kept telling her to be gentle and her response was that if I was getting cuts she would feel them too because her hand was close to mine. Wuuuh? Ok. Time to polish. I told her I wanted ombré nails and she said she could do it. Picked my colors great. She put the nail polishes on a sponge like 3 stripes then told me that my nail was too short. Wtf? Usually when I get ombré nails they put the nail polish directly on my nails and layer and smudge to blend and fade. Not her. She started tapping the sponge on my finger making a big mess on my fingers. None of the polish was sticking to my nails so all I was seeing was the white base that she put on before. I pointed it out to her and she said that it was my fault because I chose light colors. Now I've never been the type to wear bold colors on my nails and if u remember I said that I've gotten this technique done before. I was so ticked off I told her to wipe it off and just do a solid color and call it a day. Then I was informed that I wouldn't get back the extra $10 for the design that wasn't done properly. I don't know what these people are on when they give this nail salon 5 stars. This place is ghetto as hell! And dirty! The owner brings their dog in and chains him to the second station. Why is your dog here? And from my observation this looks like an everyday thing. Besides that it's filthy, it is very dusty . And to get any special treatment you have to be a regular and know who to go to. I was pressed for time and just needed my nails done and went in and asked how much it would cost, the price was average for the neighborhood so I decided to go ahead with the service. I can't recall her name but this young Spanish girl did my nails. She was very friendly but I arrived at the shop around 620 and did not leave until after 9pm! No I did not wait to be attended to, she literally started on my nails as soon as I walked in. If a mani and pedi is going to take that long it better be the best damn job ever. And of course it wasn't. They gave me the girl that no one ever goes to and it is a known thing that she takes forever because she's running around the shop getting supplies and running her mouth. Her fellow coworkers constantly told her to hurry up and finish they lady wants to leave and I myself had to tell her that I needed to go . Like I said very nice girl but nice doesn't help you went you have to be in bed by 10 to get to work in the morning. I would not recommend this place at all besides the fact that I have a "3 hour spa session" , it is just an unsanitary place.
