None of these are particularly amazing or updated like the fancy new stuff at many other playgrounds in the area, but all work perfectly well for kids (and parents) looking for a place to simply run and play. The area is fenced and gated (with a relatively child proof or at least child resistant locking mechanism) which I like a lot and wish all parks offered. I did not walk all the around to the back of the grassy area on the other side of the picnic structure to check to see if the fence went all the way around the entire park though, so I can't speak to the full "security" of the park overall, but it definitely seems securely fenced on the street side where all or most of the actual playground equipment is located, and I was able to watch my three kids play in different areas on either side fairly easily from my vantage point at the central picnic structure. It's not my kids' first choice of park in the area, given so many other nearby options like Quincy, Oak Grove, Woodstock, Woodlawn, Mosaic Park, Madison Manor and others, but it's a perfectly nice neighborhood park with a number of enticing elements like the spray ground, sand pit play area, covered picnic shelter, and several tennis and basketball courts. This is definitely for the 5 and under crowd IMO. There are no big slides, no extensive climbing apparatuses. There's 2 baby swings and 2 big swings. There's a large sand pit that includes an excavator for digging and a play kitchen. There is a 3 person seesaw and a tiny pirate ship. There are two small slides. The centerpiece is supposed to be a solar system themed spray park. Currently you can climb on the "planets". Water fountains are working. There are tennis courts and a small bike circle. If you have bigger kids, go elsewhere but this is perfect for toddlers!

I was impressed by the size and how well kept it was. There is a rubberized surface play area for toddlers; with climbing structures, rolling hills, swing sets and even an enormous sandbox. There was also a large play area geared for older kids on the other side of the park. There is plenty of benches and shaded areas to sit and chill. Bonuses: There were many plastic ride on vehicles and cozy coupes scattered around for the kids to use. My nephew loved playing and riding on them. Also, the area is gated and we felt safe in the playground even though this park is right off a busy street. There are plenty of street parking as well.

The entire kids playground area is fenced in, they have public bathrooms right next to it (currently closed for the winter), there is a sheltered eating area, basketball court, and soccer field next to it. And did I mention how awesome the playground itself is?? There is also a small dedicated parking strip as well as street parking through the neighborhood. The play structures are made to look like wooden treehouses, and even have little hidden creatures carved into the trees (which were super fun for my daughter to try and identify.) there's a "big kid" structure and a little kid one -- although the slide on the little kid one is still really fast! Fair warning, haha. I like that once the kids get up towards the top of the big kid slide it's completely enclosed by netting, although the level underneath has a lot of places where smaller babes could fall off, so just keep an eye on your littler climbers. There is one of those netted rope tire swings as well as a couple of baby swings, a double-seated see-saw, and an natural play space area with branches and sawed logs and stuff where kids can build and get creative. My son now really enjoys collecting rocks and throwing them from the bridge. There's lots of space to run around and it's surrounded by trees for those hot days. Covered picnic area for an easy low key birthday party or playdate and walkability to the aforementioned grocery store and various coffee shops for last minute purchases or pickups. The piece de resistance is a 360 swing with three tethered seats that one can sit or stand on and whose speed can be regulated by a designated person pushing any singular unit with clockwise or counterclockwise. Think of it as a manually powered version of one of those swing rides at any amusement park at low elevation for 3 participants. As for the name, it is based on the remnant of an old log structure that sits near the picnic area so there is some historical significance to the space. ADA access and walking path available but no restrooms although Harris Teeter is a hop and skip away.

The climbing structure and slide are pretty fantastic and great fun for older kids. There are also plenty of other play options including swings, a mini zip line, monkey bars, and more. My kids ages 7 and 9 played for over an hour and did not want to leave. Even my 12 year old played happily for a bit after his soccer practice ended and all three would have stayed longer if I had let them (but it was long past sunset and time for dinner). The park is nicely fenced in and feels safe, with easy visibility of kids playing on either side--and picnic tables and chairs placed between and among the two main park areas. Nice

The community center itself is in a historic stone building. The park is behind it with a section for smaller kids and a rope playground with a massive blue slide for older kids. There's a trail that leads to the remains of a castle.

This is a small park located just north of Rosslyn . There seem to be trails , a community…read morecenter(closed currently), and a basketball court. This park is most suited for the older toddler +. The tunnel slide is clearly the highlight of the park, but the only way to get there is up a large spiderweb that has large gaps in it that are not suitable to toddlers who have yet to develop the capacity to get up the ropes themselves. They have a couple baby swings (love they have the duo swing) and a spiderweb swing. The boat with binoculars is cute. There's also a little playhouse with a toddler slide. The fake grass has some nice hills to run up and down. There's plenty of seating available. The park is pretty Empty during the week. Once school lets out it gets busier. Parking is available both on the street and in a lot. I'd return here again, but only when my toddler (who turned 2 last month) can at least help me get him through the ropes to the big blue slide.
