Maybe I'm just remembering the exceptional service (not to mention the Frango Mints) of this store's "hey-day" as Fields, but the customer service in the Rockford Macy's is pretty low-class. Never enough clerks, and the ones I've run into are over-extended, unprofessional, and rude. I miss the old Marshall Field's tradition of wonderful service provided by well-trained, cheerful, and always helpful staff that had worked at the store for many years. So very sad. Leave it to Macy's to swallow up yet another great old retail icon. I won't bother with this store again when Bergner's is in the same Mall!!

My FH and I decided to use Jos A Banks in February for our Groomsmen and FH. we picked out our…read morefabric for the vests found our ties. My FH was messured for his vest we decided we would pay for everyone's vests and ties. We were told that the only way we could pay for the vests is to purchase gift cards for the vests because everyone still needed to be measured. we were fine with that we were told we could just leave the gift cards at the store and when they came in they could use them. My brother went in a couple weeks later to get measured.While he was there they made us aware that the were out of the material we had originally picked out. we told them to go ahead and measure him and we would be in when we could to pick something different. A few weeks after that we made it there to pick out new material and to have our 2 boys measured for their vests, and pick up my FH vest. While there we were told the fabric was back in stock! well then we were told that when they got my brothers measurements they took the wrong ones? Not sure how that even happens. We were also told that they couldn't make the vests in our boys size after we were already told when we asked the first day that because they are being custom made they can be made in any size. They then told us they could rent us vests for the boys free of charge the problem with this is the child size vests don't have a back and the fact that the guys aren't wearing jackets over them it would look redicouls! we decided to find the boys vests elsewhere and go ahead with the men. We then called the best man and told him to make sure to get in right away to get measured so everything could get ordered he went that same weekend got measured. Then everything was closed down and I cannot get ahold of anyone about the order if his was ever ordered how my brother is supposed to be remeasured. My wedding is in 78 days they already have my money. I am so upset that I can't get some kind of communication from them.

I buy more men's shoes/boots here and they do not disappoint. I've also bought some nicer outfits here like suits, along with belts and wallets and I've liked what they carry. Employees are usually nice and helpful even though right now there aren't a lot of them. It does take a little long to checkout some days. The store itself is kept clean and organized in my experience. They also carry some electronics, board games, and a few other kinds of items that you wouldn't quite expect. I'd recommend this store if you're looking for a new outfit or needing something for your home!

It was a busy Saturday and I didn't want to hold up the line, so I left- very confused. Took my items to the Oswego store and had no issues with the return. The other side has home goods and a flower counter. (I'd come back here for flowers.) I feel this place has a very specific demographic. (55+ community) My mother in law would love it. For me... I'd rather shop at places where my imagination and creative juices flow, versus someone else's curated marketing.
