She is one of the few people who truly knows how to cut curly hair and she is the only person I trust to style my hair for special occasions. That is why I knew I needed her to do my wedding hair! She totally stepped up to the challenge. She was willing to do whatever I wanted, which was a natural look, highlighting my natural curls, and flowing with the shape of my dress and veil. Then, she even stepped in to transform the 'do for the reception. She moved it to the side and made it more "fun" for the party. It was perfect! Elizabeth also did my up-dos for my sister's and my brother's wedding. I would highly recommend her for any special occasions, but especially for wedding hair!

(Basically, I'm a fussy, particular blonde.) Anna Maria has a substantial social media presence, which made it so much easier for me because I could flip through her portfolio on Instagram. Unsurprisingly, she is a fabulous stylist. She knows what she is doing, and she listens very carefully to her client to make sure the client is happy. And then, she follows through. I was delighted with her work on my hair as well as her prices. I also liked how thoughtfully she considers the impact of lightening products on the integrity of the hair. She now requires Olaplex for blondes and is STILL reasonably priced. I liked her explanation--that lightening techniques on blondes can impact to integrity of the hair, so she uses the Olaplex conditioning system on all blondes now. Anna Maria is also extremely personable like the best stylists are. She is a great conversationalist. Another bonus is the brief neck massage after the wash--that I've never had, but it was such a great touch! I couldn't be happier with my hair and will highly recommend Anna Maria to all of my new colleagues and friends in town. She's a highlight of the De Pere community, especially to this newcomer wanting to feel welcome.

Julia has walked me through my hair goals, has given me major chops and minor trims. I trust her implicitly with my hair. Which leads me to the reason for my yelp review: Morgan's review from this week. It hit me as odd considering the long-term, positive relationship I've had with Curly Hair Extraordinaire. Going to Morgan's previous reviews gave me a glimpse into the kind of person she is. She looks for anything to complain about and then wields anger/annoyance/outrange publicly on a site that can harm businesses. But that's okay, because she can put her phone down and feel like she's right! She never has to look at a business owner in the face again after potentially harming them! Ha! Morgan came in for an appointment on the wrong day. That is hard. It's happened to all of us. It's frustrating. Of course there is no way she put it in her calendar incorrectly. The solutions offered to her weren't good enough because driving to Milwaukee and parking is hard (can you sense my sarcasm?). A solution was finally agreed upon and what did Morgan do? Leave the salon, run to yelp to complain, and then cancel the rescheduled appointment. She feels a sense of justice and never has to face the business owner who "wronged" her again. Meanwhile, small businesses get a slam on sites like yelp. Too bad people can't get bad reviews, too. Do better. Anyway, if you want an incredible experience having your curly/wavy/kinky hair cut the correct way by amazing, caring people, do yourself a favor and go to Curly Hair Extraordinaire. Stop at a local place for coffee before you go and treat yourself to some time in fantastic Milwaukee. Julia and her team are worth it!

My Mother In Law took me here to get a mani and pedi with her. It was busy, but we waited I think…read moreless then 10 min and it became more busy after that. My pedicure was great! The technician took his time and asked me if I liked the color I picked after he applied it once to my pinky toe, which I appreciated. Sometimes the color seems great in the bottle, but once it's applied to your toes, you don't care for it as much. My manicurist wasn't so great. I can't remember if he had me dip my hands in the bowl of water first or if he went straight to pushing back my cuticles, but I know he pushed back my cuticles and trimmed them while they were dry. I asked him as he was trimming my cuticles dry, if they use cuticle softener at this salon. He looked at me and nodded his head and said em hm. After he finished he got up, walked over to another station and grabbed a bottle of their cuticle softener and re pushed back my cuticles and re trimmed them. He didn't do a very good job at pushing back my cuticles, but there was no point in asking him to re do it. He preceded to inform me why he doesn't trim his own cuticles and why he thinks it's not good to trim the cuticles. Personally, in the least offensive way, I didn't care for his opinion and just wanted my cuticles pushed back and trimmed properly. It's part of the mani process and should be done properly no matter what an employees personal opinions are. I have 2 nails that are breaking at the bottom of the nail. He didn't even notice! Just quickly filed my nails and painted them. My nails aren't all the same shape or length. Lazy. Also, it took 4 DIFFERENT employees to do my mother in laws pedi. Why did it require so many different people and why did they keep making her feel like she was being pawned off? If I was to go back to this spa, I would request the man that did my pedi, to do my mani and pedi. If he wasn't available to do both, I wouldn't go back. Also, a BASIC pedi is $26 and they use HAND SOAP as the callous remover. I don't know if $26 is the standard in this area, but that's pricey for a basic pedi with hand soap callous remover. I would've given this place 4-5 stars had my manicure been better and if they had treated my mother in law better.

Sometimes I make an appointment and sometimes I pop in. They are always very accommodating and get me in. I enjoy bringing a friend or relative with me and we are always very happy when we are finished. Last year they added small pedi chairs for little girls and my granddaughter loves going with me and sitting in her own princesses chair. They give an awesome pedi here - highly recommend!
