I've had my labs drawn twice there now, and I will find another lab from now on. I was not asked for ID. I was not asked to verify my correct name and birth date were labeled on my tubes. I'm an easy stick, but was left very bruised not necessary ... I know , I'm an RN. And the worst part is the unclean bathroom you are asked to use to give urine samples. (This is twice I've had to use a bathroom with urine on the floor). It is Urine because all the faucets are taped off, due to drug screening.. so it's not water. And I'd like to add my appt was at 8 am, so filthy that early in the day? I couldn't wait to get home and take a shower . My first experience here was just as bad. The lab tech was rushing way too much with sharps, and stuck me brutally... and the bathroom floor had wet spots of urine all over it that time also. I sure hope my labs were labeled correctly... all my meds are based on these labs.. no way to tell, since I wasn't asked to verify with ID and shown my tubes with my name and birth date on them! Quest in Summerville is way cleaner and follows proper protocols... but unfortunately my provider switched to Lab Corp... * update... blood draw on Tuesday.. now what my arm looks like on Friday .. total nonsense ... notice ac visible and palpable without tourniquet... no rolling veins... no people waiting in waiting room. 2 techs visible. One of first patients at at 8:00 am ..Take the time and do your job right! * my review was deleted on Google ... so here it is again!

With 3 kids who live in Summerville, I spend far too much time in here than my health insurance and…read moremy wallet would prefer. In the last two years, my oldest son broke a wrist and had to come in for a concussion protocol (two separate incidents!), he needed some stomach issues checked out, and last night my youngest son had to come in for a broken arm. Dr. Klein and Dr. Howard, Nurse Chloe, and a few other folks who I didn't catch their names were all awesome last night. Despite being a bit short handed, my son was seen extremely fast and received outstanding treatment. I truly appreciate that Dr. Klein took the extra effort to consult with MUSC, it was a bad break, and it turned out that transferring him there was the right move, they needed to do a pretty intense amount of work to get his arm right. Each time I've been to Summerville Medical Center, I felt things went well, paperwork was minimal, and wait was short. While I never want to come here again, I'm sure I will, and I'm grateful and appreciative to the hardworking team who always manage to get my kids right. J.Ja

Summerville Medical Center is conveniently located on the corner of Burton Ave and Midland parkway…read morein a very safe area of town. Parking is plentiful, max distance from parking to many different entrances isn't far and there are many satellite medical buildings around the main facility to accommodate other needs. Walking into the ER portion of the facility is extremely clean as with any reputable hospital, there are screens with patient queue and rooms where they may reside (I can't remember which to be honest). I will also state I've been in a LOT of hospitals with past issues including the world renown Cleveland Clinic so I have experience that spans a large spectrum. Checkout is relatively painless and quick while there was only 1 receptionist at 5pm on a Thursday during flu season. I suspect they have more staff during busier hours but I can't speak to that. That said when your number is finally called and the nurses are quick to get vitals and if a room is available, get the patient situated. This process took roughly 1.5 hours for us to get into a room and another hour for a doctor. It's my belief they were short staffed as things seemed to be running a little slow. The nurses were good at their jobs, as they were able to hit my mom's veins with ease and get some fluids going. Moreover since she's on record, they made sure not to give her anything she was allergic to while also noting her various alignments such as high blood pressure. I must say, please be kind to these nurses as they have a lot of patience thus they're doing the best and again I think they're short staffed. As for the doctor when he showed up, he appeared very intelligent and was able to assist with the previously conducted tests giving him a good idea of what was wrong. Now, I also believe that there's a priority so if someone has a life threating condition the doctor will be with them before lesser issues as this is just logical. That said I left with confidence the doctor had accurately assessed the situation and gave us our needed solution. Going to the hospital isn't a fun endeavor and unfortunately on occasion a necessary one. I've heard stories of long lines however that wasn't my experience. Aside from being slightly slow everything seemed to run as smoothly as one could reasonably anticipate. If you find yourself having to visit this facility, I believe you'll be in good hands.
