This became a horrific event of gross incompetence. Having worked 3.5 years at a Michigan Blood Bank, I was well aware of the need to hydrate and did drink 32 oz of water with-in the hour prior. I arrived at 8:30 AM and only 2 patients were seated in the lobby ahead of me. I stood in front of the receptionist, who totally ignored my presence, for quite a while until another patient pointed out a kiosk. At 73 yrs old, technology is not your friend, but I stumbled through it. The receptionist continued to ignore me, she was NOT on the phone or in a conversation. When I was finally taken back by the phlebotomist, I described and showed her where, on my right arm, most people have had the best luck finding a good vein. I don't enjoy being stuck twice and this help almost always leads to getting a good stick the first time. Bottom line... I was stuck 10 times (3 on the inside of each elbow, and 2 on each hand), performed by 3 phlebotomists including the robot receptionist. I told them, I'm done!!! Then asked for their suggestions of 'next steps'. They offered nothing. I asked if they would do an ultrasound guided venipuncture. They stated they had never heard of such thing. I have left a message with my NW Dr... I would think most people, like myself, seeing you are within the walls of NW Hospital, assume you are NW employees. That should concern NW Specialty Hospital.

I couldn't have been told that when I said my doc is faxing them over? Come back the next day with paper labs and they are so good at their job that it took them 5 times to get blood drawn (3 technicians). No I wasn't the problem they just couldn't do it the manager ended up having to. The next time I am to go there for labs I am very hesitant but still go. To my surprise a 5pm closing time is negotiable because 445pm place is locked up tight and no is there. This happened 2 days in a row and it's a big deal since we live an hour from town and made both of these trips for nothing. Also not sure but they should probably consider hiring some kind of cleaning staff most of their labs I have been too are filthy. Alas I found a new place to go to. Quest Diagnostics, go there. They will violate your rights and do not follow the law , Tell you your test is inconsistent before even reading the result. Try to Watch you pee when they legally cannot unless is court ordered , government or dot job , probation or if you refused or failed a test .Employers also beware of this company if you want your employees to work for you. I watched them conduct many tests that all take 30-40 seconds for a result. 5 seconds no result and telling you it's inconsistent is not a result or inconsistent. By far the worst business i have ever stepped foot inside , Karma will spend some time with these people eventually.

To schedule an appointment you have to either call or do it online. I tried calling first to schedule through their automated messaging system, but it was a frustrating failure. The bot kept cutting me AND ITSELF off, so I just gave up and went online. But their online appointment system isn't the most user friendly experience either, so if navigating tech isn't your thing, you may have similar frustrations here. That being said, I had no choice but to get my labs done here. If you're in the same situation I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend making an appointment rather than doing a walk-in. I made an appointment and wasn't seen until an hour later, so I'd expect even longer wait times without an appointment. They have a TV monitor in the waiting room that displays how long you can expect to wait... all I can say is... don't trust it. When I was finally called in the staff was kind, which is the only reason I'm not giving this a 1 star review... but man... Quest is really cutting corners when it comes to other areas of customer service.

( some I'm forgetting ) They all get five stars for their help. But the clinic itself is very sterile. I liked it better when there was personality and color at the clinic. Each individual area added color and life to the clinic. It now feels drab and boring as if you're in a hospital. Not cheery or welcoming at all. Come on Kaiser bring back some life and color to your clinic.
