Avoid the Gilbertsville Quest at all costs…read more I scheduled an appointment for 9:40 a.m. When I arrived, the waiting room was full of frustrated patients whose appointments were mysteriously not showing in Quest's system. The entire location was chaotic and painfully disorganized. One man said he had stopped in at 6:30 a.m. and was instructed to return at 9:20. He scheduled the appointment, came back at the designated time, and was then told by the check-in system that he had no appointment. He was not the only one. The same thing appeared to be happening repeatedly to multiple patients. But that incompetence pales in comparison to what happened to me. I am scheduled for surgery next week, and it may now have to be postponed because this Quest location has seemingly lost every trace of the bloodwork it collected from me on September 11, 2026. The appointment still appears in the MyQuest section of the app, yet there is no record of the actual blood draw and no test results. I have waited a long time for this surgery, and Quest's failure may now delay it. Even more troubling, the staff verified my name, date of birth and other identifying information before drawing my blood. During check-in, a $4.20 insurance copayment appeared on the screen, and I selected the option to be billed. Yet neither of my two insurance companies has any record of a claim. So where is my bloodwork? Where are my results? Were the tests never processed, were they attached to the wrong patient, or were my private medical records sent somewhere they should not have gone? Given that Quest cannot account for the testing, I now have serious concerns about the handling of my protected health information and whether a HIPAA-related privacy breach occurred. This is not a minor inconvenience or a simple scheduling mistake. This is a medical testing company losing track of time-sensitive preoperative bloodwork and potentially jeopardizing a patient's surgery. The lack of organization, accountability and basic control at this location is appalling. I want a written explanation of exactly what happened to my blood sample, whether it was processed, where the results were sent, and whether my medical information was disclosed to another person. Do not trust the Gilbertsville Quest with time-sensitive or important medical testing.
