Got here at 8am. 2 hours waiting time. Sad state of our health system. The waiting room overflowing and people had to wait outside.

I have now spent 8.5 hours trying to make 2 appointments. I give up. The phone waits are annoying as you have to listen to Penrad telling you how great they are as a company, and i was on hold once for 3 hours; 2 times after excessive hold periods I was cut off. The callback without losing your place in line doesn't work as you don't get a call back. I went IN to try to schedule and was told it could only be done by phone. I sent a convoluted web form to complain and got a call back after 3 days. Everything is booked more than a month out. I have asked my doctor to please give me a prescription so I can use a different imaging company. Penrad customer service is non existent.

Walk in and be told 2.5 hour wait - if no emergencies come in. Leave to do anything and get bumped to the back of the line. No complaint form (as if that would do anything). So come in, make yourself uncomfortable, you will be here for a while. And be comforted that the owners are making bank while your life ticks away to a musak sound track. UPDATE: When I finally got in to have the X ray done, the tech was extremely efficient and seemed to know exactly what she was doing. In and out in 10 minutes max. So, overall experience was a mixed bag. The bad part was very bad and the good part very good. So there you go.... UPDATE2: X ray report available in patient portal next day (Saturday). Much appreciated.

I started going to a NP (Hannah Pienciak) at Oak Street Clinic. At first I thought they were adequate, but within a few months, I found out their clinic does not respond to phone calls (they use a Call Center who does not relay messages) and you can NEVER actually talk to your doctor/NP or their nurse when you call. The Clinic Manager finally had to resolve a situation when I was supposed to be referred for a Sleep Study and after 6 weeks, it still had not happened. The last straw was when I needed a prescription that I had been taking for many years filled because I was totally out, it took 4 days to get the prescription sent to the pharmacy after 4 days of calling the Clinic and finally getting the Clinic Manager to resolve this. On top of that, the NP made a decision to reduce my medication without having a conversation about it with me so we could make a joint decision. She also reduced the medication without having an alternative treatment already in place. In my mind, that is unethical behavior for a doctor/NP. The Call Center is worthless and the fact that you can't talk to anyone in your clinic is frustrating and not effective. Also if you give information to anyone else in the clinic to give to your doctor or nurse, it does not get to them. I would do your research first before signing on with them. I will not be using them going forward.

The cardiologist onsite, at Cardiac Rehab, had to keep me from falling. even with the waking stick I was using to walk. That was stolen. While I was in the ER at Penrose Hospital . After 7 hours in the ER. My BP didn't go down and they lent me a cane and sent me home. With BP higher than what I went in with. The ER nurse asked, if I left my walking stick, I use to walk now after surgery, "At home. " I was discharged by an ER doctor anyway. I got help from the Uber driver to walk from the hospital entrance to his car and from his car to mine. Because my car still at the Cardiac Rehab facility. Then drove home . When it was passed midnight. I used a second walking stick I had in my car to get inside my house. I played solitaire for two hours with a migraine and went to sleep. BP now 150/91. Proving once again. Disabled people are not treated like human beings by the American Healthcare system. Because I would have been better off, and safer, going home in the first place.

At first it is a little hard to read him, but once you get to know him a little bit he is an amazing Dr and surgeon. He is very responsive and I never feel rushed or like he is uncaring at all. He always takes time to answer all of my questions and concerns. He performed surgery on me about 3 years ago and corrected a problem that had plagued me my whole life. I don't believe I would be alive today without his assistance.
