I had an excellent experience with the phlebotomist yesterday at the Labcorp location in Islip…read more I've been in the medical field for over 23 years, and I honestly hate getting my blood drawn. When I saw she wasn't using a butterfly needle, I almost panicked--but she was so gentle, kind, and reassuring that she immediately put me at ease. She even had me laughing through the whole process, which is not easy to do in that situation. I wish I remembered her name, but I believe it may have been Debbie. Every time I visit this location, the staff is consistently amazing with no complaints at all. In my experience, they are far better than other systems I've worked with, including Northwell (and I say that as a former Northwell employee).

Lab work on Long Island is nothing short of a headache…read more First Visit: Every employee was gathered around in the reception area trying to figuring out a register being off somewhere around $25-$32 on a random day about 8 months ago. They refused to take patients during this time, disregarding appointments. Recent visit: I was called up to hand in my paperwork, told wait one second, so since it's one second I didn't sit back down... and proceeded to see the employee plop down put my paperwork on the desk and take out her phone and start playing on it. After two minutes she looks up and said "oh, I said give me a second... take a seat. Proceeded to wait another 10,15 minutes for her to read my one page prescription and say if they can take me.... Their only pro is the staff is actually good at taking blood, which is why I may return. When I don't mind wasting my morning.

Came here to get routine bloodwork (make sure you have your script) done on a Saturday around…read more10:30am and had a great experience as a walk-in. Pulled into the parking lot at 10:25am, found a spot right away and took the elevator to the 3rd floor (#304). Checked in with their tablets (there's 2 in the corner - self serve) which took a few minutes and was easy to use/navigate. You just need to have your ID (ie, drivers license) and your insurance card and the device scans everything for you. After completing my info on the tablet, I waited maybe 2-3 minutes before I was called up to the window. Was asked for my script, confirmed my insurance and instructed to go to one of the rooms. I waited in the room maybe a minute before someone came in to draw my blood which took probably a minute. The employee that drew my blood was very nice and got the blood right away, granted I am an easy stick haha. I left the parking lot at 10:40am so it took me 15 minutes for my visit from pulling into the lot to leaving the lot! Amazing! Facility was also very clean from what I saw. Only con is they close at 11am on Saturdays and not open on Sundays.

I have been coming here for my last 3 pregnancies for routine lab work…read more & they're usually good at doing what they have to do, get you in/ out, not too much wait etc But the only phlebotomist that knows what she's doing is Latoya! She's so gentle, she's in/out with the needle with no pain! & I never bruise with her. Anyone else (2 previous bad experience when she was not there or busy) my arm was hurting & I had black/ blue for a couple of days LaToya you're so awesome & I appreciate what you do! Next time if she's not there I'm rescheduling!!

When I made the appointment I was asked to show up twenty minutes earlier to get signed in. Several days prior to my appointment I updated and signed the documents Northwell emailed me. I arrived at the specified time, got signed in, and waited about ten minutes before being called by the technician which was still five minutes before my appointment time. The Technician for the ultrasound was Karen and she was very professional, thorough, and completely explained what was being done. The ultrasound jell was body temperature warm so it very comfortable when applied. After the ultrasound I was introduced to Shannon the X-ray Technician who was also very professional and explained what was being done. I was on my way home 30 minutes after being called in. This was not the first time I had these procedures done at this facility and they have always been professional and my appointment time was on schedule.
