Really rude front desk and unprofessional. That lady needs a job that doesn't include human interaction.

If I could give them a one star I would. The front desk staff is very unprofessional and rude. How does one have to wait for an appointment that they made prior to showing up. This location as well as other accept walk ins that are seen before the patients who actually have an appointment. Complaining about someone not being present at work does not excuse the fact that patients need to be seen and in a timely manner. I am currently a med student and understand the inner workings of a clinic and this is just NOT IT. Fire everyone and get new staff. I would give them 0 stars if I could! read more

Labcorp - Laboratory Testing Near Me - Alexandria, Virginia

Healthy young female for routine blood draw. My experience: 1. 75% of chairs filled in waiting area. 2. Receptionist did not greet me, tell me to sign in or indicate if they needed any paperwork. 3. Waited approximately 15 minutes for the draw. 4. Lab Tech placed clean gloves on his hands and asked me to state my full name and birth date. ( I told him it has been 4 years since my last draw and I was nervous.) 5. Lab Tech held personal conversation with another employee while drawing my blood. (Can someone say, "margin of error?") 6. Door to hallway was open as people passed by. 7. Lab Tech asked me if I felt okay. I said I think so. I got up, walked out of building and passed out in the parking lot hitting my head on the concrete. Now that the facts have been stated, I feel comfortable disclosing the staff is very inexperienced and poorly managed. Allowing a patient to walk out of a blood draw without assisting them or having a recovery room is alarming. I am fortunate I had someone with me to assist my fall in the parking lot. However, if I would have been driving myself the combination could have been fatal. Will not use this lab in the future. read more

Overall a good experience. Got to the office right at 7AM opening time. No line. Checked in, polite woman behind counter said "I'll be right with you" Same polite woman, drew blood. She was smooth, professional, friendly. Done in minutes. As I left the office at about 7:10AM a few more customers were seated and waiting. This is the worst LabCorp that I've ever visited. The place the dirty. The front desk ladies have zero personality, and they're rude and unconcerned. They offered no assistance and provided no instructions for anything. The experience didn't get any better when my child's name was called. The customer service and bedside manner from the lab technician was a perfect match to the front desk staff...horrible. She had no conversation and was not gentle with my child at all. This place is horrible! Why do companies use these disgusting facilities to conduct tests? Be prepared to wait for a bit & to sit in an uncomfortable chair. The staff is pretty unprofessional but actually very nice. I do see how they can easily lose or mix up something because it is crazy in there. The location itself is pretty hard to find, it is in the office center next to the Nissan dealership, when you are in the parking lot you have to go way in too see the sign. Parking is tight so good luck. Hopefully there will be a cleaner facility to use but for now we must suffer. read more

Rude receptionist isn't what I sign up for when I made an appointment for a Covid-test. So unprofessional!

I feel like this place gets a bad rap. Let's start w/ the basics: it's located off of Pickett or Duke, whichever way you're coming, at the back of this 2 story building. The short and short of it: are you coming to this place because it's the only one you insurance covers: complain about the insurance. Are you coming because you can go here even though they don't take insurance? Quit your complaining. Was the woman at the window curt w/ you after you watched her answer 10 asinine questions? Give her a break. When I went here I saw a bunch of entitled and less fortunate people waiting in a very small area to get their tests done. What I didn't see was the quantity going down and there's 1 reason for that: NO ONE MADE AN APPOINTMENT BEFOREHAND. I did. I was in and out I. 10 minutes. I got dirty looks from everyone else in the waiting room because I went in before them. You don't make an appt for someplace as "low" as Labcorp, you deserve to wait. The lady at the window, not curt to me. I gave her what she asked for and did what she told me. The lady who drew my blood, not rude to me. I did what she told me as didn't complain. She was actually very nice. AND the room I was in was clean! My point: if you know you have to go here, save yourself some trouble and make an appt online beforehand and then take a humility pill before entering. When you get in that waiting room, no one is better than anyone else. read more

I went online to schedule an appointment, unforgettable the only one available was at 12:45 and I had been fasting all night into the next morning. I arrived at 12:04 to sign in just in case they could fit me in sooner. There were several people there but they seemed to be moving quite efficiently in the back as people didn't seem to have to wait long. I was called up at 12:20 to give my paperwork and information. I had my blood drawn at 12:40 by a very sweet girl who worked quick and efficiently. I was able to get out of there before my appointment even began. Thanks so much! read more

After reading the reviews of this place I was beyond nervous about coming here. Let's be honest, If you have an appointment you are seen right away. If you're one of those people that feels like you can just walk in somewhere without an appointment and be seen right away then you're going to complain, have a bad experience and give this place a bad review. To those people I say- get it together!! Next time make an appointment and you won't have to wait 2 hours for a simple lab test. While I waited for my name to be called I saw several people walk in with an attitude and then get an even bigger attitude when they were told to wait. All of these people did not have an appointment. Yes, the lady at the front desk is a bit grumpy but I found that if you say "good morning" and are in general polite she is less grumpy. Get some manners people! If you're rude she will be rude back. The staff that does the lab work was super quick and the whole experience was painless. I was in and out of there in no time and they were really professional. The rooms were clean even thought the entire building is a little dated. The place is tucked away around the corner so pay attention to the sign that points to where Labcorp is. The point of this story is...stop thinking you're special! Make an appointment and if for some reason you can't then don't expect to go in an out like you're at the gas station. It's pretty simple. read more

I've been to this location several times while pregnant with both of my children, and for other various health reasons in the past 4 years. It's in a convenient office park area, off of I-395, that I'll admit is a major plus. The times available to book and reserve online are convenient too. That being said, yes, I agree the receptionist is mean and not very friendly, sometimes with has an attitude too. She's really on and off. I think when they're super busy, she's mean, but once you get into the room, and she draws your blood she's quit nice and does strike up a conversation. It helps to actually make an appointment ahead of time, and not just walk-in. There aren't that many choices of what labs you can go to depending on your health insurance, so just suck it up and try to be friendly to them, and you'll get some decent service here. read more

I was there over 30 minutes, and when I complain about sitting for long time, Eric Drewry, the reception person said we have computer problem! When I asked why people who came after me they go head of me? He yelled: because they have an appointment, so computer was working! After more than 45 minutes, Eric Drewry was my phlebotomist again, after fill my urine test bottle, I asked him I need soap to wash my hand, he said "the soap is there" I said: "it is empty" he said: "I really don't work here and yelled other coworker to bring soap from other room". Finally, I will never ever go back to LabCorp, if I have to, I will not go to the Duke St Alexandria branch. we were only 5 customer sitting at waiting room, it took me almost one hour to process and I could see many LabCorp employees that hanging around and do nothing or play with their cell phone. read more

I've been coming to this facility for 5 years by virtue of it being the most convenient location to my office and home. Usually, it's a long wait, with or without an appointment, a very crowded waiting room, and the staff always seemed overworked and stressed out. Today it was different, I was a few minutes late and yet I was in an out of there quickly (within a half an hour), the staff was all very pleasant, and the waiting room wasn't overflowing with people. I don't know what has changed, but it was definitely a much better experience - keep up the good work! read more

As far as labs go, this was pretty standard. I'll go again. Pros: -People with appointments were in-and-out in under a half hour (around noon on a Monday). -Staff was very nice and polite. -The nurse who took my blood did an awesome job. It didn't hurt and there's barely a mark. I literally cry every time I get blood drawn, and she was nice and reassuring. -It wasn't the picture of beauty in there, but it was sanitary. Cons: -I had a hard time finding the place. I left 15 minutes early and was still late for my appointment, so make sure you look at a map before you go instead of just relying on navigation. -Maybe it's because I was late, but someone made a mistake and marked me as checked-out before I was seen. After I waited 45 minutes, I asked, they discovered the mistake, apologized, and saw me next. So, not really a big deal. Bottom Line: Make an appointment and try to get there early in case you get lost like I did. Also bring something to do just in case. read more

Was a walk-in on a Friday around 8 am and was out within 20 minutes. I like the check-in kiosk and the staff are always friendly. I don't understand the negative reviews as I have come here numerous times in the past couple of years and have always had a good experience. On top of that, I am what is considered a "difficult" stick, but they are so good that they almost always get the blood on the first stick! read more

A sign in their lobby clearly says, 'if you haven't been seen in 30 minutes see the front desk'. So after my electronic check in, which seemed efficient and legit, I waited. At the 30 minute mark I walked to the front desk. Two employees looked at me standing there but did not acknowledge me. Eventually someone said, 'Can I help you?' I explained my situation and they asked me where I saw 'that sign'. I pointed it out to them (in their office) and they seemed perplexed. They then asked me if I signed in, 'yes'. At that point, two other patrons, both their for employment screening said, 'hey, we too have been here for more than 30 minutes'. Then a long pause over who should be seen first, a request for photo ID, filled out a form and we are then asked to sit back down again. Honestly, inefficient, and not very polite employees either. I am hopeful this was a bad day or a shortage of staff that day, or maybe the other LabCorp locations are better. I easily would have traveled further for better service read more

Walk ins were taken before me and I waited for nearly an hour past my appointment time. The staff seemed very incompetent, rude and unhelpful. Before the nurse took me back to draw blood, she called my name, I appeared, and she said: "wrong person" and shut the door in my face. The same nurse took me back and asked if I was getting spinal fluid drawn, (which I was NOT) and was written as an order on her computer screen! After I asked to see my doctor's blood work request, the woman refused and started getting rude. I will not return to this location ever again. read more

Dropped off a sample on Mon, May 22nd. The place was a mad house with only one person answering the phone and dealing with a room full of clients. Children were crying and it was difficult to hear the receptionist. It was a little like a Third World marketplace. The room was not very clean and looked shabby. I was told to drop off the sample at the back of the room on an open table (along with other samples) -- easily accessible to anyone there. Today it's June 15 (more than 3 weeks since my visit) and I haven't heard the results, so I called their Customer Service line. There is no record of my sample in the system. Suggested that I call or go back to drop-off location and see if they can find a record that may not be in the company database. I assume if they can't find it, I will need to send another sample. Having had this experience, I have no confidence that the results of their analysis will be any more reliable than their customer service! Very, very shabby operation. I'm checking with my doctor and asking for another lab--one that is run professionally and with pride. Oh, and by the way. After reading some of the other reviews, I don't expect an answer other than maybe, "Sorry. My bad." read more

The main receptionist with the red hair is so rude. I advice her management team to send to get training for some cultural enlightenment and communication skills. You can tell she doesn't want to be there, her body language and tone of her voice says it all. I had to come twice this week for different reasons and both times I've seen her behave the same way. I give this place one star because she is the first person to give you the company's first impression and it's bad. I mean they have kiosk doing her job now, what could she possibly not like about her job. The ladies in the back that are actually doing the work are kind. No complaints there. read more

I went in to- you guessed it- get blood work. Unfortunately, I printed out the wrong form. The lady at the front was kind enough to allow me to email it to her so she could print it for me. Of course, it was for Quest Dx and not Lab Corp. The only thing that could make this place look more unsanitary would be live critters running around. I haven't seen any rats or roaches, hence the 2nd star. In any case, I've seen cleaner looking metro stops. Here's how my last experience went (and the 1st one wasn't any better): I walked in, filled out my info, waited seemingly forever, then got called into the lab room. I was not escorted by any employee. The room I was told to go in was occupied by a guy holding an open urine sample. After I asked about that, the nurse told the urine guy to go to another room, and told me to sit in the original room. While waiting in a chair next to a 4 foot tall bio-hazard garbage can that had no lid and was full, I noticed that seemingly every surface in the room was cluttered with disorganized bottles of blood and misc fluids. Many were tilted or altogether sideways, I'm not sure that matters, but it LOOKS rather suspect. After 20 minutes alone in the lab room, I was told to go into a different lab room that looked identical to the 1st in every way. There was another patient in that one too, but the nurse told me to come in anyhow. She then drew my blood while talking to the other patient, who apparently had some kind of bladder infection. The nurse took the 1/2 full urine sample from the other patient while taking my blood. No gloves changed. Yay. The needle was discarded in yet-another poorly placed bio hazard bin right next to all the hopefully clean supplies. I left as quickly as possible and will be looking for a new place to get blood work done. In short: ~Be prepared for a very long wait... even at off-peek hours ~Be mindful of the giant bins of open bio hazard materials ~The staff here is noticeably unprofessional and look uniformly overworked. ~Expect to have your tests done in front of other patients. ~Do not expect to have anything sanitized between patients. ~Don't go here read more

Holy nightmare!! First time I went they hemalyzed my blood sample so I had to go back. When I went back they were completely rude and unprofessional, even though it was completely their fault. The lady that drew my blood came in late, in her street clothes and with a McDonald's bag into the room where I was having my blood drawn. I asked her what could have happened to my blood sample and how we can prevent it from happening again. She basically gave me the look of death and proceeded to give me an "explanation" about how they used the wrong drawing method. This all while talking to me like I was her worst enemy. In her words, she preferred to use something different but because I requested to be laying down (I have passed out giving blood before) she could not do it. My husband was with me in the room and he almost went off on her but I had to tell him to let it go because this lady was about to stick a needle in my arm. One of the other employees kept coming back and talking to lady and distracting her asking her all sorts of personal questions. Oh and btw they have a sigh by the front desk saying how customer service is their business but there was not one person I saw being treated like a decent human being. I translated for a couple of patients who did not speak English and I felt awful having to tell these people what the employees were saying back. Awful awful place... In addition, I signed up for a 7:30am slot a week before my appointment for drug screen testing. I recently went to the Duke Street location and even though I had an appt., they kept me waiting about 30 minutes. I told the technician that my veins were tiny and that the left arm worked better than the right. She insisted on the right and after THREE PAINFUL JABS, I said no more. Let's try to left arm. Then her colleague came in and she proceeded to have a very in-depth conversation/argument with the colleague all the while she was preparing to take my blood again. At this point, I walked out.
