The Hobbit's House is just a cute house to see if you are in the area. It is not a must stop. The…read morehouse actually has an owner and there is an apartment there. It was built by a former artist for Disney Studios and the builder, Lawrence Joseph worked on all of it for decades. There are adorable cottages and a view from the street is super. I think some of it may be occupied, I am not sure, so I did not venture far, just the front and back yard and stopped when I saw what looked like an apartment building. It is an LA Historical Landmark and just so cute. It is near Sony pictures. It almost looks like you are walking into a movie set. There is a great garden and a pond and it really does look like a Hobbit house. We were not there long, maybe 15 minutes and did not need to be. So, if you have 15 minutes and want to see a super cool house go take a peek.

These are people's homes aka the Lawrence and Martha Joseph Residence and Apartments, commonly known as the "Hobbit Houses," located in Culver City, California. The structures were designed and built by Lawrence Joseph, a former artist for Walt Disney Studios, starting in the 1940s and continuing construction for decades. Now surrounded by high rises it is difficult to land a parking spot but worth it to get a closer look. For a moment imagine yourself on a walk through emerald green grass & fields of wildflowers. And then look up & see these enchanting cottages.

Sunset Boulevard is a 23-mile major street that goes from the PCH to downtown L.A. It passes…read morethrough Hollywood and Beverly Hills. It is known for its many historic buildings. It is also a very congested road to drive on. There are billboards everywhere advertising the newest movies coming out. Some historic buildings include the Sunset Tower, Chateau Marmont, Cinerama Dome and the Beverly Hills Hotel. A popular place to grab a quick bite is at Carney's - a yellow Union Pacific rail car that serves hamburgers and hot dogs. The Sunset Strip portion of Sunset Boulevard has been known for its nightlife scene going back to the 1950's. Many songs and films have been made about this area. I have driven up and down the Sunset Strip on a number of occasions. The Viper Room, Whisky a Go Go and The Roxy are popular clubs that launched the careers of many bands over the years. The Comedy Store is a comedy club that has been around since the 70's. Back in the early days, I used to hang out at the old Tower Records store on Sunset Blvd. I used to go there to buy new CD's and vinyl for my music collection. Amoeba Records is another music store that I love to chill at.

Obsessed. Stopped…read moreby here for a quick bite during the week and loved it! So many shops and a lot of variety to choose from/shop at. Since it was a week day, not crowded! That was the best. Stopped by a dog food shop to get the fur babies some treats, a smoothie place (delicious), a pickle spot where I bought the sliced pickles in a honey mustard pickle juice (obsessed with these!), empanadas (the best here) and a bakery where a friend got some cookies to go. I have to go back when I have more time to thoroughly explore and enjoy checking out all the shops. A must stop by when in the area! Just beware, it is crowded during the weekend!

I was reading about places to check out during my visit to this area…read more I had no idea this place existed, I was told this little area is right by The Grove. I was drawn to come check this place out since it has been around for quite some time. It seemed to have everything there: candy shops, baked goods, pizza, ice cream, fried chicken, burgers, deli's, salad, empanadas, seafood, dumplings.. the list goes on. If you are ever in the area and you want to grab a snack or a meal, this is a great place to visit. I think parking is free for 90 minutes if you get it validated by a merchant inside. I wish I had more time there, but I will definitely go back when in this area. I ate at Magee's Kitchen and my niece got pizza. Both were pretty delicious. Prices seemed a little steep to me, but that was expected. I bought some candy fruit slices for my sister. Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Food: 5/5
