Delightful decor with okay food.
So, a place as nice as this, I would have expected cloth napkins but instead there were these cute tissue boxes. Cute, but not that functional for the outdoor seating area, as my used tissues kept trying to fly away in the modest breeze.
The tuna steak with truffle had a really good sauce and I was impressed by the side salad that came with it. However, the tuna was cooked through, not somewhat rare like I'm used to in the US; perhaps just a cultural differences, I'm not sure.
One complaint was the French onion soup, which is not that great. Tasty, but nothing close to say, a Parisian bistro. The broth was lacking in depth and flavor and the onions did not seem caramelized at all. Came with bread and melted cheese but nothing super. I think the soup would have been better with somewhat better stock and if the onions were caramelized and deglazed a few times.
Overall, the food was good, but not great, the service friendly and efficient (and spoke English well), and the presentation excellent.
