Bagno Vignoni is famous for the "bath" and its situated right outside this restaurant. One would think that the bath was this restaurant's main attraction but the food is just as wonderful as the view.
For appetizers, we had the prosciutto with seasoned lard and the sheep's cheese souffle with honey and balsamic served with a poached pear. Both were very good but had to make sure to leave space for the main entree.
They had a special pasta with white truffle since it was the season -- and I had asked them to change the past to pici --- since the pici is local to Tuscany -- and it was the best pici I have had during this trip.
For dessert, we had the dark chocolate cake with orange slices -- great ending to a great meal.
The wine selection was also superb. They recommended the Casanova di Neri, a Brunello from 2007 and it was the best Brunello I had. It was the best pairing for our dinner. And we had a glass of grappa with our dessert... perfect ending.
The service was great as they recommended the best wine! read more
