I had been searching for the perfect Flamenco show and our wine tasting tour guide actually suggested Mr. Pinkleton. I'm so glad we listened and made the reservation. The show was phenomenal! We booked an "early" show at 7:30p, so we could grab dinner nearby in Plaza Mayor after. They do have a dinner and a show ticket or just dinner and drink. No matter what they give you some snacks to go with your drinks. It's a very small venue but we got lucky and sat front and center to this awesome show. The service was fast and great & didn't interfere with the performance on stage. The dancers and singers put on such a great show and I will return for another show next time I'm in Madrid!

Amazing flamenco show

Amazing performers with beautiful voices! I was intrigued by the beautiful dresses and wanted to experience a flamenco show. Thankfully found a Groupon which made my experience even better. After watching the show, I would even pay the full price without the Groupon. For 35 euros, you get 90 minutes worth of performance along with snacks and a drink per a person. The sangria was filled up in a large wine glass and was delicious.

A flamenco show is a must in Madrid. We decided on Mr Pinkleton based on the other positive reviews. The show was amazing, the dancers were passionate and extremely talented. The singers and guitarist were great, you can tell how they all enjoyed performing for a crowd. The food was ordinary but I don't think people anticipate getting amazing food, I'd rather go for the amazing show. Docked one star based on how uncomfortable the chairs were. Probably one of the worst I've ever sat on, I knew after the first minute otherwise great place. They had three shows per night, options include show with a drink, a show with half bottle of wine and snacks or show with dinner.

Great Sangria

Truly one of our most memorable evenings in Madrid! My wife and I were on a month-long driving adventure through Spain, Portugal and Morocco. We ended our travels in Madrid. We were seeking an authentic Flamenco performance for our last night and our hotel concierge thankfully recommended this terrific venue. We were enthralled by a most impressive 2-hour show with a brief intermission. The theater is casual and intimate, so there isn't a bad seat in the house. About half the attendees were locals and the others tourists. Guests can choose the show with or without dinner service. We wanted to focus on the performances and were glad we decided on just cocktails (the first drink is included in the ticket price -- for two people with 2 cocktails each about 80 Euros with taxes ). This was not the typical canned money grab show for tourists. The performers were all consummate professionals and displayed a genuine passion for their art. I came to learn that most Flamenco in Spain is done by independent artists rather than traveling intact groups. Much like professional jazz musicians, each performer has attained a high-level of mastery and knows well the standard repertoire. The performances are often spontaneous and can even be without rehearsal. Wow, my wife and I were in genuine awe of the flair, speed and accuracy of the guitarist, the percussion, the vocals and of course the dancers. Absolutely amazing performances by all. A most impressive experience we will be talking about for years. Highly recommended.

It was a Monday night so the place was very empty at the 11pm show, but despite this, the show was pretty good! I would expect on Mondays they don't have their absolute best performers there, but it was a good show. It lost some of the energy because of the lack of people, and the show wasn't as good as what we experienced in Seville, but overall was a great experience. It's worth going to!

So glad we got to experience this. A friend suggested that we check out a flamenco show while in town. Since we've never been to one, we had no idea what to expect. From the reviews on TripAdvisor, we decided that La Taberna de Mister Pinkleton would be a good mix of family friendly and intimate setting. We opted for the 25€ option (drink and snacks, but no dinner) for the adults and 5€ for kids. First impression is that the place is very small and dark. The chairs provided are kiddie size small, so comfort is not a priority. Overall the ambiance does provide a private show feel. The show is where this place shines. The guitar player and the flamenco dancer were crazy talented. The singers were super passionate. I teared up just feeling the emotions and wished I could understand the Spanish they were singing. The girl next to us who spoke Spanish and has taken flamenco classes said that the quality of the performers were very high for a place that some considered a tourist trap. Overall, a fantastic experience. They went around and gave us wine shots from a canteen and got a few of our group on stage for a flamenco lesson. Highly recommended if you're even remotely thinking of doing something like this!

We had a great time here, the price is very reasonable especially compared to other places and a drink is included. The show was just amazing, you can see the passion in the dancers!

This Flamenco was awesome! We thoroughly enjoyed how authentic it was. An amazing performance by truly talented people. It was muy excelente! Ole! We got the 30€ package and it came with a full sangria or wine or beer. Everything was great.

Fantastic experience! Food was good but next time would just do the show and drinks. Recommend for first timers to Madrid.

The setting was just perfect ..

Good show and if it's your first time at a flamenco dance, definitely worth the ticket that includes a drink.

The sangria is just bad. Their wine isn't great. The service is abysmal and the show mediocre. There really isn't much more to say...

Another visit that was high on the list of things to do in Madrid…read more I bought passes that came with an English guide. I enjoyed having that, but you could easily come through on your own without a guide and be fine. Our guided tour was about 90 minutes, but you could also stay as long after as you desired. We ended up staying about another hour to catch some of the things the tour didn't stop at. Note that you cannot take photos inside. It also seems to get pretty busy early, so it might be a good idea to go fairly early or closer to closing. Would highly recommend the Prado.

No argument about that, but unlike the Louvre, it doesn't offer the breadth of art one would expect from such a vaunted museum. The curators apparently have no interest in expanding their collection because it engenders unmanageable foot traffic. That also explains why photography is prohibited in the galleries. I ended up buying postcards to have a visual remembrance of my favorite masterpieces collected by centuries of Spanish royalty. Consequently, the Spanish masters are represented by familiar masterworks like Las Meninas (The Maids of Honor) by Diego Velázquez (Photo 4), as well as The Naked Maja and The Family of Carlos IV (Photo 7), both by Francisco de Goya. Other European masterworks are represented like the impressive Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch (Photo 6) and The Judgment of Paris by Peter Paul Rubens. Beyond this scope, there are intriguing artifacts to peruse like the Leoni Renaissance Sculptures (Photo 3). Truth be told, you need to add the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and the Museo Reina Sofía to get a more complete picture of Madrid's artful treasures. RELATED - Exploring Madrid? The self-guided tour is worth it if you like seeing a bunch of super ornate architecture, furniture, artwork, etc. We got snippets of the actual tour as we passed each other at various points - I was happier being able to walk through the route at our own pace, which took about an hour. I felt sorry for the people whose tickets were for any time the following day, though, as it was randomly closed all day the next day we were in Madrid a few months ago, which I gather isn't an altogether rare thing to happen, that they take reservations and then close last minute. We got in in the nick of time, it seemed. By the way, if you have bags, you do have to leave your bags downstairs in a locker at a small additional fee. It was small enough I do remember exactly how much it even was, though, so it clearly wasn't a big deal.

Came here for the 10:30pm flamenco show, having reserved online a few days in advance. 40 euros gets you in to the show and includes 1 drink. It may seem a bit pricey (there are cheaper options in the city for sure), but it is 100% worth it if you want to see authentic flamenco in an intimate space. The seating area is not huge, but best of all, seats are kind of on an angle. So even if you are near the back, you can see the footwork. This is really great, because so many flamenco tablaos I went to in Andalucia were really cramped and basically if you are not in the front few tables, you cannot see any of the dancers' feet. Anyways, the calendar on the website will tell you who is dancing and who is performing on guitar and cante (singing). They get a lot of excellent artists here. The performance had one intermission and went until ~midnight. The dining area is at the front and the stage and performance space are in a smaller separate room in the back. Servers bring the drinks to you so you don't have to get up to go to the bar. Like many places in Spain, once you sit down you get a little bowl of nibbles, such as nuts. Overall, an incredible and moving experience with top notch performers. Plus, the location is very central, just a few blocks from Puerta del Sol. Because of the location perhaps, there will be a fair number of foreigners in the audience, but rest assured that what you are seeing here is the real deal.
