2.5 stars, if I can. Another yelp disappointment. This was very close to my hotel (ibis les…read morehalles), and I went there with a few friends. Three of them ordered the beef tartar (I think it was the menu of the day) with fries and salad. Another friend ordered a set menu with a strange salad with small shrimps and chicken with couscous. Another had a stir fried noodle with shrimps. I had the cafe gourmand (6.5 Euro). 2 of my friends seemed to enjoy their tartar ok. I had a taste of it, and it was not impressive. Also the beef seemed a little too chewy. One of them didn't like it and left half of it. The friend who got salad (some kind of wheat berry in a dome shape) and chicken was very disappointed as the chicken was very dry and tough/ salad was weird. The one who got the noodle was the happiest. My cafe gourmand was also disappointing -usually this comes with 4 kinds of different desserts (Madeleine, tiramisu, Creme brûlée, mousse, etc.) But this one had 4 kinds of different mousses. Creme brûlée, what seemed to be vanilla based mousse+raspberry jam on top, what seems to be vanilla& chocolate mousse, and something in the mousse shape but with no distinctive flavor. Only the Creme brûlée was good. Also the espresso that came with it was very watery weak& not good. (My hotel serves better espresso!) In the Yelp review and description, it appears as a good place for coffee. It is certainly not! My stars are for the cute and clean inside atmosphere and the pleasant server. Also the portions were generous.

We arrived for the late afternoon lunch and ordered the trout, granola, hummus, and 3 pastries that our waiter chose for us. The flavors were so bright and complimented each other perfectly. I loved the honey, pepitas, and chia seed in the granola yogurt bowl. The pastries were a chocolate and peanut butter cookie, apple turnover, and an almond/orange brioche. Each one of them was perfect. The hummus officially ruined all other hummus for me. Nothing will ever be as fresh. Don't skip this place when you're in Lyon!

You'd want more soy marinated eggs if it was possible to order them individually! The granola with fresh yogurt, fruit and honey was delectable. I wanted more it was so good. The coffees were perfect as we had some hit and miss during our stay overall in finding high quality, robust, coffee (which was not espresso). The hot chocolate is the real deal, rich chocolate that you add hot milk to to reduce the thick, creamy richness of it. So good. order it! I think they are known for their pastries so order a few brioche, rolls, etc. I wish I knew the french word for the roll we had as that was one of the best we've ever had.. sweet, but not too sweet, soft/airy, buttery with the outside having a nice crispy (flakey) texture. So good. Very affordable too. Wish we found this place earlier during the visit as I would have liked to come back a few times.

I almost had to craw out of the place. Every course was done almost perfectly and tasted good (yes, it was tasty, not just some random meats with super heavy sauce which seems to be a common norm for French restaurants in France! ) The service was a bit slow ... We had to wait quite a while between courses :( but even though they didnt have english menu, the servers were kind enough to translate everything to me :) the chef was equally amiable. I saw him peeking from the kitchen to make sure that we are enjoying his food :) -0.5 star for long wait time between courses and -0.5 star for limited variety of bread and for letting the bread sitting out there. Our first round of bread was good but then it was not warm anymore But 1* michelin well deserved :)

When you look down the row of two tops hugging the wall it looks like Monk's chow call in a Monastery. There is also a small dining room in the back just in front of the large windowed kitchen where you can watch the magic being made. The Decor: There is the requisite few French kitchen things sprinkled around for along with a print or two hung here and there. I suspect this old place has had many iterations before Les Adrets claimed it. Three set menus are offered (the most expensive of which is 46.50 Euros), and there is basically one seating. Be advised that the place is jammed from the opening bell at 7:00 PM. Settle into your table which is no bigger than a Mini Cooper's boot. Voila, the menu and your Amuse-Bouche arrive in a flash. A shot of Fish Custard laced with bits of Smoked Salmon and some Salmon Tartar as well, topped with tangy Mulberries. It had the consistency of Burma Shave, but the taste was a wonderful treat and easily the best rendition of this dish you'll find between Lyon and Normandy. Maybe make that between LA and Normandy. The Staff: It was a bit tense as the aloof and distant hostess furtively searched for me in the Reservation Book. I'm not sure she ever did find me, but I made puppy eyes and sad shoulders and once she realized my French was as non-existent as her English she warmed up like an electric blanket and cared for me like a new boyfriend. I was assigned to my postage stamp table and given to the care of two sweet young ladies who moved quicker than sign-ups for advanced Spin Class. The Vibe: Who goes there? No Fodor flunkies or anyone toting a Rick Steve's version of the Bible. All locals and not a lick of the King's English could be heard. Only me smiling and mumbling Merci, which sounded more like mercy. The Kir Mure (Blackberry) was as sweet and refreshing as that special one sitting next to you in Social Studies who said yes to you. The Food: Oh, the food. In one word...absolutely terrific. (Okay, that's two words, but both appropriate). The Soft Egg with Trout Tartar was settled on a bed of Baby Black Rocket garnished with Wild Mushrooms in a Mushroom Cream dotted with Nigella (Black Sesame). Doesn't that sound delish? Twas, my Yelper friends. It leaves you with the same afterglow from a perfect date, maybe a better one as the dish will be exactly the same next time you dine here whereas that perfect date may well be no more comfortable and exciting as a bedroom slipper. Next, try the Boudin Noir (Blood Sausage) paired with St. Jacques (Scallops, to you), seared just right to keep their sea born integrity. It was all arranged on a Beet Puree with Granny Smith Apples and Wasabi Foam all colorfully arranged in a beautiful design like a Navaho Sand Painting. Often, Scallops are racquet balls providing an all day chew. Not here. Paired with an expertly crafted Blood Sausage it should not be missed by food lovers or Vampires. While you are enjoying the last two courses you will be treated to a bottomless basket of Country French and/or Walnut Bread, still warm for the baker's loving touch. And then out of the blue, (the kitchen) comes a Lemon Mint Sorbet to freshen the palate. Unexpected in a small Bistro and oh so delightful. How about a Dos de Cabillaud, Craquelin de Noisette with Pesto de Roquette? (Cod Fillet covered by an awning of a Hazelnut Cracker, and and topped with a melange of Vegetables...Sundried Tomato, Celery Spears, Onion, Snap Peas, and Apple slivers cuddled up to a hill of Mashed Potatoes and all moored securely in a lake of Arugula Pesto). Now, how about that? The Cod was as thick as your fist and as big as your iPhone 8. It was beyond moist, translucent, and transcendent. This dish was really well thought out and executed. Everything had purpose (other than clearing out the walk-in). Everything on the plate brought something essential to the party and this simply should be ordered. Period. Ron W. hath spake! Oh my God, what a Cod. The Cheese course, of course, was waiting in the wings. "Dry or Salty"? asked the server, which best describes a conference of Navy Vets. Salty was a creamy cup of Chive infused Fromage Blanc. Dry was just what the doctor ordered (actually he ordered me not to eat cheese, but who cares what an old quack suggests when it's this good?) I met an old friend, Reblochon and made two new ones. Picodon (my new CFF...cheese favorite forever), and a Forme d'Amber that wanted to be as blue as you for missing this place. Finally, for those who's tummy has been stretched to the size of a VW car cover, have the Nouget Glace au Miel et Creme du Marron. (Nouget Ice Cream with Honey and Chestnut Cream buried in Toffee Bits. Decadent? Heaven sent, I think. You will not soon forget Les Adrets.

Just clicked the link to their website in the yelp app and filled out the reservation info. After a long day of flying, exploring Paris, and taking the high speed train, I was hungry. I was looking for a good place that I could eat by myself. This place was a short walk from the train station (I wheeled my luggage). I chose to eat outside so it wouldn't be awkward inside with my giant suitcase. Even though I made my reservation for 830pm, they seated me at 8pm when I arrived. I chose 1 of each of the categories on the menu. To my surprise the serve brought me a declious cucumber salad as an amuse bouche.

I really enjoyed their wine. Course meal is 27€ per person including appetizer, main and desert. Since I couldn't pick what I wanted, they decided to give me small potion of everything. Everything I ate was so good, no wonder why they are so popular among locals. Yes this place is located in the middle of residential area, you need to know it's here to come here. Walking distance from the Lyon train station. One lady spoke excellent English and it was so helpful and she assisted our table so well. Highly recommend for great dinner at a such a reasonable price. My love for Lyon food continues...

Similarly priced to American artisans, and that is to suggest most items topping 3€ each, it was largely with a focus on novelties as well as recommendations before personal favorites that the order progressed, a total bill of 20€ yielding seven items which were boxed and bagged as we discussed dining back across the Atlantic, suggestions for local spots offered and appreciated despite a dining agenda that was already jammed packed. Taking items to a small park in order to enjoy, parking no doubt a hot commodity before meters engaged at 9:00, it was with little hesitation that first bites were taken of each warm donut and although the yeasty brioche-style base was absolutely immaculate, all but the dark chocolate frosting featured an 'off' mouthfeel that came off almost waxy, the sweetness nowhere near that of versions served stateside and not at all on par with Donuts Factory, a place to be visited later on the eating tour of Lyon. Moving on to the "don't call it a cupcake - cupcakes are frosted" muffin, suffice it to say that French cocoa studded with Valrhona's dark chocolate chips is likely to upgrade anything being done with food coloring and Hershey's throughout most of the American South, and although a dollop of cream cheese frosting may have upped the ante a bit it really wasn't needed in the setting of such high quality ingredients, the same to be said of a crispy-rimmed chocolate chip cookie dense with nuts amidst a soft center and the best-of-the-morning "Nymy" that featured a puddle of ganache amidst a cocoa base with streaks of caramel, toffee, and hazelnuts making each bite a new experience waiting to be found.
