After leaving Venice we drove toward Firenza (Florence) in the Tuscany region. We booked this property for a week instead of bouncing around various hotels and it was SO worth it! This is a family owned working vineyard which produces a wonderful Chianti as well as their own olive oil. They've got three buildings they've converted to "apartments" for tourist rental. The "staff" was extremely friendly, accomodating, very pleasant to talk to and more then happy to show their very O-L-D S-C-H-O-O-L wine production facilities. La Scopa is located in Montaione, about 40 km Southwest of Florence. If you have the option of renting a villa like this instead of staying in hotels, I VERY HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! P.S...
