This is a very small restaurant with only 8 -10 tables. We had made a reservation months in advance and there was a mix up but they made it happen and got us a seat. We are so very thankful. The mean was amazing. We started with the artichoke appetizer. I had the special pumpkin tortellini My MIL had veal with battered vegetables My FIL had beef braised beef My spouse had pork shank with carrots and potatoes. Trattoria La Rustica Trattoria Rustica is one the more difficult reservations to get in Ravenna. The restaurant has a small seating area nd is known for their wonderful comfort food evening meals. We were lucky to get an early seating. We each had two courses. I had the Taglatelle Porcini followed by the Filetto Maiale Sangiovese Scalog, my wife started with the Gnocchi Gorgonzola followed by the Spiedone Rustico. All the dishes we excellent. Trattoria La Rustica is a charming local restaurant with a delightful Romagna menu. I had the Tagliatelle porcini mushroom and the rabbit. Awesome! My wife had the stuffed, fried zucchini flower. A rare find. I also received a valuable lesson in pronunciation of Valpolicella wine. I'm glad we made a reservation. It filled up fast. read more

Great Traditional Cuisine in Historic Ravenna Foodies look no further than La Rustica. The pasta is homemade. The appetizers are a labor of love. The cuisine is excellent. La Rustica From Munich to Bologna and after checking in the Hotel Palazzo Bezzi in Ravenna we decide to go here. Well, it was awesome to go for a walk. We saw some parts of the City and finally arrived in La Rustica. I would call it a classic Trattoria, cauz it´s so familiar and overwhelming. The food is quite nice and great Quality. Real italian Food, take a Bite! Choose from very good Starters, Pasta, Main dishes and even Desserts! It´s typical casual and i loved it! Best Gnocchetti i´ve ever had in my Life! Ate here on Yelp's recommendation and figured I'd review to support that recommendation! Solo dining, Thursday evening, off season. I don't speak Italian, didn't inquire about an English menu, but at least one of the staff speaks English and things were fine. The place is pretty small; I was early (8pm) on the off-season so not a problem getting a table, but on a Friday/Saturday night or any night in the main tourist season you probably want to call for a reservation. On the overheard advice from a nearby table (apparently this is a local dish?), I got the Cappalletti al Ragu di Carne as my primi, which was very nice - the sauce was simple but very well executed and the pasta very pleasant. Would happily have eaten twice as much if I didn't have another plate coming, but the amount was perfect for having a secundi after. For my secundi I had their filettini di maiale al Sangiovese scalogno e mandalore tostate (small filets of pork in a Sangiovese-shallot sauce with toasted almonds), which was also very nice. The pork was tender but not too fatty, the sauce and almonds absolutely divine. My only complaint was that the included spinach wilt was a bit bitter, but everything else was perfect. A half-bottle (they don't appear to sell by the glass but do sell half bottles at a reasonable price) of a Nero d'Avola and some sparkling water were nice accompaniment. Service was quick but never pushy, with the usual habit of leaving one alone unless hailed, but I never felt neglected in the slightest. Would definitely eat here again. read more
