Perfect BnB experience in the heart of the most walkable & safe part of the City of Brotherly Love. Tip: book directly through their website! Better value all around Had a delightful 1 night stay on a sultry spring night. My room was comfy and clean. The best part of the time spent was the made-to-order breakfast on Saturday morn! Get your time selected before bedtime & the delicious smell of coffee and bread will wake you up. Maria the manager is sweet, attentive and made my whole stay perfection! Definitely the place to book before you go anywhere else in Phillie.

We have stayed here many times and feel like we have a little apartment in the city. We have only ever stayed in the Saratoga or Rittenhouse suites and can't comment on the other rooms, but we LOVE these. Everything is very clean, and the staff is consistently sweet. Cozy, more gorgeous than the photos, spacious, well designed... you won't want to leave, but there is so much to do in Center City, of course, so don't sit around luxuriating, lol. The location is perfect for good restaurants, the park, shopping, and so much else. Thank god I let my spouse pick the hotels. We don't get the breakfast as vegans, but Maria had almond milk for coffee. We usually head to PS & Co on Locust, a lesser-known gem with food as good as Vedge for all meals of the day. Some things to know: 1.) It is two townhouse buildings, with no door in-between, so you have to go out the front and then back in to go from one side to the other, not a big deal, and the key pad is easy to operate. 2.) You can park out front to unload your bags. They direct you to a reasonable parking lot a block or two away. 3.) I don't think you can control the temperature in the suites, but there are ceiling fans. The history of the (1850) buildings is interesting as well as the renovations -- which took away the backyard. The person who grew up there now owns it, pretty cool. There is often a deal mid-week for $100 a night, which is incredible for a whole apartment.

I was looking for an affordable hotel to stay at during a layover in Philly. La Reserve fit the bill perfectly. I made my reservation via Expedia and got an email within the hour requesting confirmation information. Once I provided that the reservation was set. The B&B is decorated very nicely. I waited in the parlor area while Maria was checking in another customer. She was friendly and efficient in checking me in and explaining more about the history of the B&B. I stayed in the Heritage room which was homely and very spacious. I was elated that the Wi-fi worked perfectly unlike the non functioning Wi-fi at my previous hotel. I'm not a fan of shared bathrooms but when in Rome...lol. I did like that the shower had a shampoo, conditioner, and soap dispenser in case you forgot any of those. It was also cool they provided lotion and for the ladies make-up remover pads. The location was great as well. It was within walking distance of the train line I needed to take to get to the airport. The highlight though was the weekend breakfast that I happened to participate in. I had a tasty omelette with goat cheese. I also enjoyed meeting two other couples that were all friendly. Unfortunately after breakfast I had to hightail it to the airport but it was a good way to end my visit. I would definitely stay again.

We had a fabulous stay at La Reserve, we were not expecting such a lovely, warm, comfortable and home-like place. First, it is located in the Rittenhouse Square neighborhood which is one of the cutest neighborhood of old Philly. Here, no more modern buildings, banks, or H&M. Beautiful old houses, lovely coffee shops take over and it is really a pleasure to walk around. La Reserve itself is inside an old house, with furniture like it must have been in the 19th century - I am totally guessing here, I obviously have no idea on the matter but let 's say it looks authentically from another time when things were beautiful... The room (Penn Franklin) was very large with a comfortable bed, huge pillows, big TV, armchairs, a desk big enough to work on, a well equipped kitchen and very clean bathroom. And again the furniture makes you feel like you were in an old beautiful house. So I have talked about the bed, what about the breakfast? 5 stars again with some normal breakfast during the week (try the great cheddar scones or delicious muffins) and brunch for the week end where you can choose between your style eggs or specials of the day. Oh and all day long, some tea and coffee are available, along with some cookies in the common area. On our last day, as I was leaving on the evening, I just hanged out in the house all day and it was perfect, as there is a big living room with several sofas, and chairs. The common area is really welcoming if you need to wait before check in or after check out. Also, the staff is very kind and very responsive to your needs. If I were to come back to Philly, I would definitely go straight to La Reserve again!

We had a wonderful stay at La Reserve. The room was beautiful. Staff was so sweet and really had a welcoming atmosphere. Will definitely rebook next time I'm in Philly.

This hidden gem is amazing from the staff, decor, towels, fresh fruit served for breakfast. The rooms were much more spacious than expected, and all of the amenities were obviously chosen with thoughtful care. The staff was the star of the show - always helpful and kind, which made the trip that much more comfortable. Without us even asking, they placed a bottle of wine with a beautiful handwritten card for our anniversary. Everyone from the manager to the front desk was always attentive and friendly. I found this hotel to be my favorite in Philadelphia partially because of its excellent location. It is located right in Rittenhouse Literally 10 steps to Rittenhouse square and has a feeling of natural peacefulness not present in the hotels deeper in the center city. It was a great feeling to spend the day in the hustle and bustle of the center city, then come back to our peaceful hotel. Additionally, the hotel is a short walk away from excellent restaurants such as Parc and Steak 48, as well as a huge variety of shops surrounding the area. If you're coming to Philadelphia, do yourself a favor and stay at the Rittenhouse. The wonderful staff, ideal location, and upscale furnishings are more than perfect for any trip's needs. We looked at different hotels including the Four Seasons and the Ritz for our special weekend, but we are so happy We went with the Rittenhouse Hotel. The refrigerator was handily stocked each day with bread, bagels, butter, milk, yogurt and orange juice. The cabinets were nicely supplied with various breakfast cereals, crackers, necessary flatware and convenient extras like wine bottle openers, can openers, microwave, toaster and dishwasher. I should also note that there was also ample paper towels. The dinette area was perfect for a couple and provides an ideal view of a picturesque street. The bathroom is a decent size with a moderate size shower stocked with luxury bath gels/cleansers and designer air fresheners The bathroom linen storage area contained at least a three day supply of fresh towels as well as being replenished daily. The queen size bed was divine and ideal for watching cable or DVDs on the provided DVD player. The suite also included remote controlled heating and air conditioning. The apex of our stay was the presentation of the flowers and festive helium balloon in honor of my birthday provided by Marjorie! The hospitality and attention to detail was stellar and this instantly became one of our favorite lodging sites and the definitive site in Philadelphia as we have already made reservations for a summer weekend in 2019 and likely once even year for years to come!

My husband really liked the historic appeal, and I liked the proximity to the historic sites. I also liked the promise of the continental breakfast and the images we saw promised more, but more on that later. When we arrived in Philadelphia, we assumed that the "L" would bring us quicker to the hotel and closer than what we were informed. We were told by the hotel staff to get off at the 8th and Market stop, but instead followed the conductor's instructions, who told us to get off at Jefferson station, which we did. From the fashion shops at that station to the hotel, it was perhaps a few blocks or a 10 minute walk. We didn't mind, but I wouldn't consider this if I were traveling with children or a lot of luggage. The hotel is located in an alleyway, and not what I pictured. There is a tall, modern apartment building in front of it and it is really close to a hospital, and lots of other very tall modern buildings. The hotel, like other old historic buildings, including nearby Independence Hall, are all surrounded by tall and modern buildings, again not what I pictured. The staff at this hotel weren't on the same page as far as narrating this hotel's interesting history. The young lady who gave us a slight tour and showed us our room didn't tell us the history, such as an older woman who also works at the hotel gave other people some detail I had to listen in on. The hotel is old and very classy. It is definitely a boutique hotel and not a place to stay with children. Our first room was delightfully beautiful. However, the mattress wasn't comfortable, and it felt as if we were sinking head down. We were in room 201 and found that you can hear street traffic from 8th street and particularly the after-hours door, shutting and closing pretty well to keep from a good night's sleep. I would suggest that the hotel fix the after hour's door problem because it's not only that people aren't cognizant of others sleeping above when they enter but that the door is truly noisy, especially when you must shut it firmly to make sure that it is shut. The manager, fortunately, was accommodating and had reassigned us a different room on the other side of the hotel, away from the street and with a more comfortable bed. The continental breakfast was satisfactory, to say the least. There was yogurt, muffins, bagels, small box cereal, small bonabell cheese, coffee, milk, and OJ. The eggs were what I found disappointing. I had seen elsewhere images of small quiches for breakfast, but instead, they had hardboiled eggs. This is not your continental breakfast that you get with waffles at Holiday Inn. There is a restaurant on site, but it opens for lunch and dinner, and I don't recommend it. I reviewed this separately. We ended up going to La Pien cafe and bakery down the street and also found a Starbucks nearby. The best part about this hotel was how close it is to Independence Hall, Congress Hall, and, of course, Liberty Bell. I would recommend staying here if you've never been to Philly and want to visit the historic landmarks. F.Y.I take the Flash (a bus that can be located at the Visitor's center directly behind Liberty Bell). It costs like $5 a day for all main stops and was free the next day after the 4th of July.

Eclectic is probably the best word to describe the townhouse; the yellow shutters, planters, twinkle lights, and concrete sculptures make it stand out on the block. We were very pleased to find a parking garage adjacent to the estate and proximity to Old City and its amenities. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the owner, Nature, who was very hospitable. We stayed on the third floor and were quickly reminded that we were not in a hotel (i.e., no elevators) and began lugging our bags up the steep staircase. Our room - and the entire house - was as authentic as possible following some minor restoration. The decor was not our cup of tea, but it fit the theme and we were not surprised it was missing some modern touches (i.e., USB outlets, an updated shower, etc.). We stayed here only one night but got to experience breakfast on Sunday morning; fresh pancakes with powdered sugar and blueberries and perfectly cooked sausage links. The hot food was complemented by a continental breakfast spread of fresh fruit, bagel, bread, and pastries. Our only gripe of the entire stay was that our room was extremely warm. The owner informed us upon arrival that "only heat was on" and to use the fan in the room if necessary. Unfortunately, the fan did not suffice and we were forced to prop open a window to cool of the room before we slept. Sadly, we could not keep the windows open while sleeping, because there were no screens and the city is noisy at all hours - especially early in the morning. Overall, it was an interesting experience. But, we will most likely book a hotel during our next overnight visit to the City of Brotherly Love.

I've seen worse in other cities but bring your A game if you plan to drive here, in these small historic streets. Life is good with a comfortable stay using points.

I want to be clear that this review is for the Doubletree Parking on Broad St…read more Had reason to park there recently while attending the ballet followed by dinner. We were a party of 4 in two separate cars: one party paid for parking in advance as a 'ticket and parking' package. The other did not. We arrived about 11:30 am for a Sat matinee. Lot was rather full, but more, the spaces were very narrow, which seems to be the case more often. There are only two elevators, and they also are exceedingly small, holding 5-6 adults max-which is an issue when the shows end and everyone is queued up to leave. Our biggest issue was discovering that the prepaid parking expired at 4 pm. Since we were staying for a post ballet dinner, we asked and were told that we would simply need to pay for the 1 hour difference. If only it had been simple; but no. Besides the fact that the booth attendant had a friend inside chatting to the point that we needed to honk to get attended, the attendant had no idea what to do with a prepaid ticket holder who was attempting to leave past the allotted time. Their default was charge us $30 (the rate charged the car without the prepay), making it $30 for one hour. We declined to pay that as that was not the posted hourly rate...and had to sit for more than 15 min and only due to the exceedingly long trail of cars queued behind us did the attendant finally charge the posted hourly rate and allowed us to leave. Provide better training on what-if" scenarios, extend the parking package hours from 4 to 5 to accommodate meals. Do better.
