It's nice to see actual humans working the register…read more However, some people that have been placed on a register need to remember that their jobs are temporary, it's a matter of time when they are once again replaced by machines. Miss Nora, needs to give the same energy back that she was given a few moments ago. I was helpful and pleasant and grateful. She made zero eye contact and never showed any gratitude for business. I understand people can have bad days, but when someone is paying attention to you, try to at least show some semblance of life. Zero acknowledgement. We can go back to machines, they at least say "thank you" when they produce the receipt. I don't need the thanks, I sure as hell did not need the total lack of acknowledgment. She was as engaging as a machine. It's pretty sad. Give me the job, I've done this work before, I get it.

Hands washed, and back into the main part of the store, I got my coffee, and was almost tempted to get some breakfast tacos being put together from the women working the hot foods section. Yet, that Hwy 90 beckoned me to get on the way to San Antonio. Friendly, helpful employees, (this is small town Texas after all), and not bad coffee (I've had enough bad, hot brown water in the past).
