As soon as I walked into the room I was hit with the funkiest smell I've ever smelled. The best way for me to describe it, is a mixture of old cigarette smoke, cleansers, and musk. It was bad. The bathroom was TINY I couldn't even move without the sides of my legs hitting the door frame and the side of the tub. I know I'm not the smallest person but my mother, who is pretty small, had issue with the size as well. The place also looked like it hadn't been deep cleaned because there was grime on the floor, dirt and dust inside of the light of the bathroom and the carpet looked so old. And worst of all there were old dried stains on the comforters! I don't even want to think about what those stains might have been... I know people shouldn't expect much from a continental breakfast but a lot of other places at least serve hot food like eggs, bacon, and sausage or some kind of breakfast scramble. This place didn't have any of that. They didn't even have bagels or decent fruit. The only thing they did have was the typical make your own waffle, coffee and some boiled eggs. Not impressed at all. The only thing that was ok was the pool. I appreciated that they had decent, sturdy lawn chairs out there with umbrella covered tables, although the umbrellas were looking a little worse for the wear and could have used some replacing. Overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone unless it's a last resort or you're low on cash or you just don't care where you lay your head as long as you have somewhere to stay the night. read more

No! I hotel is horrible!!!! The toilet is for a tiny person rust and grime in the bathroom. Carpet old like from the 1930. The door was hard to open. Just an old smelly hotel. Over priced, overrated! This is a 2 star hotel (motel), for the nightly rate of $226 for two dble beds. They clearly did not check the room throughly, previous guest had left a used bath towel hanging behind bathroom door. Mold in the shower room, door had not been wiped down (collected dirt), and the actual shower/tub was dirty. I'm disappointed, La Quinta use to be on top of their game, now they've fallen from the ranks. Price gouging is not ok!! read more

The staffs were really nice people. That's everyone of them. The hotel is old like a motel. Light in the room was dimmed. Bed isn't too bad. I couldn't use the shower as it looks disgusting. There was a spider nesting inside the bathroom as well. The door lock jammed and we had to run up to front desk a few times. Yikes, not worth the $200 +/- they charged. read more

Wow! First, I really should have read other reviews, both on Yelp as well as other platforms. Over and over reviewers shared how dirty this place is. Dirty is an extreme understatement. It's flat-out disgusting. Every surface: walls, doors, counters, toilet, shower, furniture, LITERALLY every single surface is visibly filthy- I really don't want to even think about the filth I can't see. This is NOT a case of something here or there accidentally getting overlooked. This is the kind of filth that comes from long-term intentional neglect. I've never seen a hotel room this bad. Add on the $135 a night cost and it feels criminal. It really feels and looks like the type of place that rents rooms by the hour and in between "guests" they don't bother to do anything except change the sheets-and even then, only if they are really dirty, then they re-hang the towels that were on the floor and call it clean. Now that I think about, I bet that a room that rents by the hour would be cleaner than this $&@"-hole. I'm sleeping in all my clothes, not taking a shower, not using the towels, touching as little as possible. It's REALLY bad. Especially on the other major review platform I was reading, I saw the owner's responses: they claim they take cleaning seriously, these are exceptions, they are sorry....no, no, no...all b.s. There is NO excuse for a room being this gross. PLEASE, PLEASE, if you are considering staying here, just don't. I promise you will be dodging a bullet. We decided to take a trip down to Eagle Pass at the last minute and we headed to our usual stop but no available rooms so looked around and to my surprise La Quinta had rooma available. Double bed $75.00 for a weekend that is super cheap and continental breakfast hell yea my kind of place. I love the fact that they allow pets because it's hard to find a location to stay with your pets sometimes. Rooms came with microwave and fridge which is great if you decide to stay in and bring food. They had a small coffee pot with coffee and creamer also. The restroom had plenty of towels and a blow dryer that actually worked good. In the morning we went to get breakfast and that was pretty good waffles, eggs, cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast, muffins, coffee, tea, milk, and different kinds of juices. They only serve till 9am but they were nice and waited for some other people to come in and eat. I will definitely refer friends and family. read more

This place looks like it was THE place to stay in Eagle Pass...in 1973. This is one of the few La Quintas I have stayed in which maintains the "motel" (doors open to the parking lot rather than a hallway) setup instead of the "hotel" setup. The rooms looked dingy, unkept and every bit of 50 years old and in a desperate need of being updated. Add to it the fact that since the Kickapoo Casino opened up, there are at least 8 other national brand name hotels in town and this place falls further down the list of where to stay (including the casino's own hotel). It would be nice if the owners of this place would invest in upgrading the hotel but even on the dates we stayed, it was sold out so I don't see that happening anytime soon. Sadly, Eagle Pass is one of those places where besides the casino, there is not much to do so until there is a good reason to go other than the casino, I doubt there will be many more hotels built and the ones here will continue to overcharge. Now the reason my rating has 3 stars is due to the very friendly staff and adequate breakfast. As others have mentioned, the staff here is very good and the continental breakfast was up to par with other La Quintas I have stayed at so I have no complains there. Just keep in mind that this place was happening in 1973 and has not been upgraded since and you should be fine but as mentioned, there are many other, newer hotels in Eagle Pass and while all will overcharge, may be worth the extra buck for the 21st century upgrade. You are in a border city here so keep it chambered, concealed and secure but do not take it (or any other weapons) into the gaming floor of the casino. read more

Made a reservation over the phone and got charged for the room for one night. I walked in to check in and they wanted 100 dollars cash for a deposit? Wtf would you give a 100 dollar cleaning and damage deposit when you have your credit card on file? I don't understand how I would get it back if I checked out first thing in the morning? I think they scam you out of a 100 dollars? I checked into another hotel down the street and they said that La Quinta is garbage! And would recommend staying there due to the crabs peoples get from the beds there! I was like wow that's sad! People who have stayed there have told me also they got head lice and food poisoning from the eggs. They rather sleep in the Walmart parking lot in a tent then stay there. I have stayed at a lot of hotels because my wife and I travel a bit. But man this is by far the worst experience I have ever had. From the front desk staff to the general manager. Room didn't come with the fridge or microwave like they told us. Dirty towel In the shower, someone else sandals under the bed, a cheetohs bag as well lol it'd crazy to me. I would rather sleep in my car then stay here again. Jennifer the "GM" most unprofessional person I have ever spoken to. Sat in her office until she got tired of me asking for her. Says she couldn't take to me because she was in her street clothes....if you're gonna be at the workplace then make sure you're carrying yourself that way. We paid a pretty penny for an overnight stay at this hotel. The room was properly clean. Delia did a pretty good job on her side. However the stench from the carpet was out of this world! it smelled musky, humid, like an unwashed gym bag! I couldn't fall asleep! If you must stay in this motel, avoid room 150 at all costs. I hope it was just this room. I gave it 2 starts just because the room was properly cleaned. I'm generous like that! read more

Stayed here for an overnight trip to casino. We decided to try out the pool but after getting in, I felt plastic bottles and bags on the bottom of the pool. Water looks mirky and needs to be cleaned. Rooms are decent for the price but I would not recommend going to the pool. read more

Great Hotel. Nice and clean and reasonably priced! Would recommend staying here if coming to gamble at the casino.

Stayed 3 nights & was very pleased with the room. It was clean, great breakfast. Pool was cold this time of year, but could set outside in the sun. Not as close to the casino as we would like, but not too far either. Must see Fort Duncan Museum, very interesting. Just a few miles away. Everyone working at the motel was very nice and helpful. This is the worst La Quinta Inn. I have ever stayed at the room smells moldy. The AC makes so much noise we can't sleep. Never never and I mean never ever going to stay here again. Staff didn't really care. We are sold out and that's it. No other hotels are available. We can't move you to other rooms blah blah blah. read more

Stayed here on may 2015. Was going to stay at the place across the street but the rooms smelled bad. This place was much cleaner and the guy hooked me up with a military discount (im not in military) and even gave me an extra foldable bed. Looked at a few rooms only 1 had a funky smell. The swimming pool was never open, the water looked kind of dirty, but a few brave folks still went in. Free breakfast each morning until 9 or 10 I forget, but if you arrive a few minutes late the woman wont hassle you to shut down the breakfast. Make your own waffles, the batter is ready to cook. Instant oat meal, just add hot water. Some drinks from the fountain. Brew some black tea or coffee. Cereal. Apples and bananas, bananas are still unripe. They do have free wifi, but it not that fast. I tested the speed a few times, each time it tested at about 4 mbps down and 350 kbps up. Good to surf the web and use a few apps, but dont expect to use video streaming. Had a few problem with the toilet chain being too lose and the toilet would leak water into the bowl all night. They send a guy to fix it but he didnt do much, just wiggled the parts around. I would recommend la quinta inn eagle pass, the staff is always friendly, but a few minor problems with the room. read more
