Side walk on hotel property not shoveled one week after snow storm and ramp into property not cleared up to curbing properly.
Judy M.

Your maintenance is horrible! First room the shower did not have hot water. While my husband went downstairs to complain he stepped in Dog poop in hall. When he reported this to the front desk at the same time and the desk person seemed to know who was at fault. They were nice enough to move us and I thought ok I will give them a chance even though if I had the choice at the time I wanted to pack up and leave due to I was disgusted over this. We had to pack up and after my husband checked the room and the hot water worked we thought great. Then the heater shortly after we moved started making a horrible noise every time it kicked in and my husband called again thinking oh it's simple let the maintenance guy come check. He was on vacation. So they offered to move us again. Now I had just packed back up one time and I would have had to do that again and my husband said if we pack again we are leaving. So we listened to it Wednesday night and again Thursday night because we had to stay the second night because of a medical doctor appointment. We told them we were checking out early on Friday due to the issues. They were friendly and apologized for the issues but it would still never get me to stay again. It appeared like all they had done was paint over all issues and made it look good for a remodel but it was just cover up. We accidentally pushed the button on the "tiny" elevator for the basement and first noted when door opened that there was either a wire or pipe just cut off. The sidewalks were not properly shoveled after a snow storm that happened a week prior. There were people roaming around in the parking lot from time to time when we would go outside that didn't seem to be staying at the hotel. The hotel luckily was not so creed that we couldn't park in the immediate hotel parking but if we couldn't have fit we would have to park down the block and walk and the hotel property didn't clean sidewalk. The additional parking was public parking which was clean to hotel property. The entrance and exit to the hotel property were not cleaned to include the curve of the curb make turning in and out harder in a very busy street. I have pictures of the snow issues and actually recorded the horrible noise. I am giving this zero stars if it will allow me to. This is the second hotel that I have stayed in that Wyndham has taken over from another hotel and I will not be staying at another Wyndham property again. I did not rate or complain about the last one because I understood it was a recent take over and they are trying on an old building and they had a good maintenance person. We stayed there during Christmas time and had snow and ice that were properly cleared at that property.

I haven't stayed in a La Quinta in years, but I plan to seek them out if they're consistently this great. We were in town for some medical appointments, and the staff was quick, friendly, and incredibly empathetic to our needs. First, the location, This hotel is in downtown Indianapolis, so traffic can be pretty nuts. Fortunately, it is in easy walking distance of several restaurants, and in walking distance of all of downtown if the weather is right and you're willing to hoof it a little. The staff got us into our room very quickly and easily, which was something we were a little worried about at first. I wasn't the one checking into the room, but I'd added my fiance's name the day before. Some places I've stayed previously have had trouble with that, but there was none of that here. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and came with everything you'd expect from a hotel. The fridge kept our leftovers cold, and the in room coffee was tasty. We didn't use the microwave, but I've got no reason to believe that wouldn't have been fine also. The next morning, I was particularly impressed with the spread available for breakfast. So many times on the road I'm forced to grab a stale bagel and some apple juice, but La Quinta really swung for the fences. One of the signs of a great hotel for me isn't that everything works, it's how quickly they resolve unexpected issues that come up. In the morning we found out that our shower water pressure was pretty low, making it difficult at best to take a shower. We called down to the front desk, and they immediately put us in a new room just two doors down. There was no arguing, we didn't have to awkwardly switch floors, just a quick hop down the hall. I really appreciated how quickly and efficiently they handled the issue. Thanks again, I'll definitely be back!

Pros: 1. Great rate 2. Convenient location 3. Clean room, towels, sheets 4. Comfortable bed 5. In room microwave oven and refrigerator 6. Parking was adequate but a little bit goofy Cons: 1. Came across a bunch of shady characters, but it is located in the Downtown area. 2. Besides the room, the rest of the hotel was pretty old. Overall: It was adequate for my trip to run the Indianapolis Monumental Marathon. I booked late and this was a pretty great find, but if I had decided earlier, I would've booked somewhere a little bit better and nearer the center of Downtown.

Stayed at this location for 3 nights Here is the good: Location is decent. Sheets are clean. Staff is friendly. Nice lobby. The bad: I was without hot water for 24 hours, because "it was being worked on," inside my room two light switches do not work, the mini refrigerator does not work, the air conditioning temperature regulator does not work basically it is either on or off, the walls are filthy. The hallway smells of mildew, the carpets are stained, the walls are black. Other areas the walls have been patched and painted but they do not match. Inside the stairway the floors are sticky and the carpet is falling apart. The elevator is questionable.

Perfect place to stay. Near whole foods. Very accomodating staff. Free parking. Thanks guys! Great breakfast. Storage behind desk for our guitars. A+

It was chilly outside so the fire was inviting

I very much enjoyed my stay at this La Quinta. I'm a touring musician. A cozy, quiet room is ver important to me! The staff was extremely courteous, and the rooms were clean and quiet! They told me at the desk that they are undergoing renovations this summer! I'm excited to stay here again and see how everything looks after their renovation project! The staff also had excellent food recommendations. Downtown is also just a short walk from the hotel so it's easy to see all the sights!

Pet friendly hotel!

Check-in was a breeze, although a little delayed. We used our voucher to sit in the bar and have an amazing cocktail. The wait wasn't very long before the front desk came to find us and give us our room keys. We had an upper-level room with big windows that overlooked downtown. The room had high ceilings, a walk-in shower, beautiful amenities, and was very clean and very comfortable. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room, but there was nothing in our visit that stood out as something we were missing or that would have made us more comfortable. The bedding, the pillows, everything was great. Easy walk to the Gainbridge Field House. Plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Excellent place to stay. Check out was super easy. Just walk out and drop your cards in the box off elevators. We walked out to our car and drove away. My only concern is that the emailed folio with the total for the weekend was about $40 less than what was actually charged to my card. The charge to my card is only a hold, so when that payment settles, it should be the stated amount in the confirmation email.

The hotel is lovely with a courteous staff. Tue lobby was clean and inviting. The guest service area is neat and expansive and there is art located all around the floor. There is an onsite restaurant with table and bar service. They have a connecting walkway that leads to other restaurants in the area as well. The room was clean and provided excellent views of the area. I'd stay again.

Entry required being buzzed through locked double doors on both sides of the vestibule, which, rather than reassuring, reinforced the impression of a space struggling with control and upkeep. The parking situation immediately added confusion and frustration. We were first required to pay for parking associated with the Hilton property, and then instructed to move the car into a separate paid parking structure at an adjacent office building across the alley. What had been advertised as a straightforward $20 fee ultimately became nearly $100 in combined charges, with no clear guidance upfront. Inside, the details continued to accumulate. Hard and soft surfaces alike appeared dirty or worn. Linens were incomplete. Toiletry dispensers were broken, with no body wash or shampoo available. The air itself carried a stale, unsettled smell, as though prior occupancy issues had not been properly resolved. Individually these might be minor inconveniences; together they pointed to a pattern of ongoing neglect. Beyond the building, the surrounding area introduced additional concerns. Despite being advertised as airport-adjacent, the property is a considerable drive from the airport. The immediate vicinity included frequent loitering and panhandling, which may be uncomfortable or concerning for many travelers. Even basic amenities began to feel questionable in this context. Given the visible lack of maintenance throughout the property, we found ourselves uneasy about the cleanliness and safety of the breakfast offerings--especially frustrating given that our stay was prepaid and non-refundable. Only after experiencing all of this does it become clear that the issue is not a single oversight but a systemic failure in maintenance, transparency, and management oversight. Between the unexpected parking costs, the unsanitary conditions, and the misleading location description, the overall experience felt deeply misrepresented. It is worth emphasizing that the employees themselves were consistently professional and hardworking--some appeared to be carrying more than one role at a time. Their effort was evident and appreciated. Unfortunately, their diligence could not overcome the broader deficiencies of the facility.

When we got into the room. The staff was super accommodating and made sure that we removed a few doors down to a room that was smoke-free. Room was a good quality. Double beds. Shower okay, no bathtub. Refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker. The only downside about the coffee maker was that the universal coffee and plastic attachments did not go with the machine. It should have been a closed environment, but it was not. Once you inserted the plastic coffee filter and place the coffee filter pod into the maker, there was a gap, which led to splashing of the hot water onto the coffee filter pod that led to coffee Bean all over the desk. Breakfast every morning. Waffles, either scrambled eggs or pre-cooked omelette, pork sausage, chicken sausage. Golden potatoes, yogurt, fruit, various breads, oatmeal, cereal, coffee, tea, hot chocolate. Pretty good size dining room as well. On the second floor. Second floor was also where the fitness center was. The floors were labeled with having vending machines on floors 4 and 7:00, but I could not find any. There was a snack area on the first floor where you could purchase snacks by scanning with self-checkout. Refrigerated items, frozen items, candy, chips, etc. The only thing the room really needed was a deep clean. Crevices and corners could have used some extra care and love. Outside of that, no complaints. Security key required to get into the hotel, as well as up the elevator.

Our suite was plenty spacious and had a fun urban/industrial vibe with exposed brick. The bed was more on the firm side, but that is my preference anyway! If you don't wanna go anywhere in the morning, they did have a complimentary breakfast, but again it is so perfectly located between tons of great restaurants. My only knock was that the customer service experience at the desk was a bit different between the night staff and the morning stuff. The young woman who is working overnight, seemed very preoccupied and slightly annoyed when I had some pretty basic questions. This was completely contrasted by the young woman who was working in the morning. I saw her going above and beyond whether it was making sure the trash left for breakfast was taken care of or checking us out. Having worked in hospitality, I understand that anybody can have a bad night, but overall our stay was great and we would definitely recommend this place for anyone coming in town from one of the major events or anyone just looking to have a fun staycation.
