Your maintenance is horrible! First room the shower did not have hot water. While my husband went downstairs to complain he stepped in Dog poop in hall. When he reported this to the front desk at the same time and the desk person seemed to know who was at fault. They were nice enough to move us and I thought ok I will give them a chance even though if I had the choice at the time I wanted to pack up and leave due to I was disgusted over this. We had to pack up and after my husband checked the room and the hot water worked we thought great. Then the heater shortly after we moved started making a horrible noise every time it kicked in and my husband called again thinking oh it's simple let the maintenance guy come check. He was on vacation. So they offered to move us again. Now I had just packed back up one time and I would have had to do that again and my husband said if we pack again we are leaving. So we listened to it Wednesday night and again Thursday night because we had to stay the second night because of a medical doctor appointment. We told them we were checking out early on Friday due to the issues. They were friendly and apologized for the issues but it would still never get me to stay again. It appeared like all they had done was paint over all issues and made it look good for a remodel but it was just cover up. We accidentally pushed the button on the "tiny" elevator for the basement and first noted when door opened that there was either a wire or pipe just cut off. The sidewalks were not properly shoveled after a snow storm that happened a week prior. There were people roaming around in the parking lot from time to time when we would go outside that didn't seem to be staying at the hotel. The hotel luckily was not so creed that we couldn't park in the immediate hotel parking but if we couldn't have fit we would have to park down the block and walk and the hotel property didn't clean sidewalk. The additional parking was public parking which was clean to hotel property. The entrance and exit to the hotel property were not cleaned to include the curve of the curb make turning in and out harder in a very busy street. I have pictures of the snow issues and actually recorded the horrible noise. I am giving this zero stars if it will allow me to. This is the second hotel that I have stayed in that Wyndham has taken over from another hotel and I will not be staying at another Wyndham property again. I did not rate or complain about the last one because I understood it was a recent take over and they are trying on an old building and they had a good maintenance person. I stayed at this hotel at the beginning of June for 3 nights. The location was nice as it is just on the edge of the main downtown area and easily walkable to many locations. But the rooms are rundown and the hotel doesn't seem to be very well maintained. The room we were in had sheets that were too small for the king size bed, rust in the tub, outlet in the bathroom didn't work, shower head was loose in the wall so it moved if you tried to adjust it, the room phone was broken and the biggest problem was that the air conditioner made a high pitch noise. My wife had earplugs and she or I could still not sleep do to the noise. The next day I let the front desk know about the issues and was told they would fix them while we were out. I called to check to make sure they did and was assured they had been fixed. When we got back nothing had been fixed. I let the front desk know and they told me I could move to another room. The room they tried to move us to had the same issue with the ac so we just stayed. They told me there was nothing else they could do but that the manager would give me a call. She never called me. They did move us to another room the last night we were there and the ac was quite in that room but there was a hole through the wall to the outside by the ac, the sheets still didn't fit, there was still rust in the tub and the shower head was still loose. Also while we were there someone left muddy footprints through the lobby on our second day and they were still there when we left and one of the elevators was out of service during our entire stay, which tells you how little maintenance is done in the hotel. I have also let Wyndham Customer Service know about the issues I had and they have reached out to the hotel to contact me. Wyndham has told me that the hotel has also not acknowledged the messages from Wyndham and the hotel has not reached out to me. I have emailed and called the hotel myself and nobody responses to me. I expect better when you are paying over $200 a night. read more

I booked a room for a conference 9 months in advance. The hotel contacted me 3 weeks before my event and Cancelled! Stating they were overbooked. The manager was not in everyday I called and then just sent me an email restating the cancellation. Every other hotel was booked or $500 a night. Wyndham corporate customer service was appalling. I haven't stayed in a La Quinta in years, but I plan to seek them out if they're consistently this great. We were in town for some medical appointments, and the staff was quick, friendly, and incredibly empathetic to our needs. First, the location, This hotel is in downtown Indianapolis, so traffic can be pretty nuts. Fortunately, it is in easy walking distance of several restaurants, and in walking distance of all of downtown if the weather is right and you're willing to hoof it a little. The staff got us into our room very quickly and easily, which was something we were a little worried about at first. I wasn't the one checking into the room, but I'd added my fiance's name the day before. Some places I've stayed previously have had trouble with that, but there was none of that here. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and came with everything you'd expect from a hotel. The fridge kept our leftovers cold, and the in room coffee was tasty. We didn't use the microwave, but I've got no reason to believe that wouldn't have been fine also. The next morning, I was particularly impressed with the spread available for breakfast. So many times on the road I'm forced to grab a stale bagel and some apple juice, but La Quinta really swung for the fences. One of the signs of a great hotel for me isn't that everything works, it's how quickly they resolve unexpected issues that come up. In the morning we found out that our shower water pressure was pretty low, making it difficult at best to take a shower. We called down to the front desk, and they immediately put us in a new room just two doors down. There was no arguing, we didn't have to awkwardly switch floors, just a quick hop down the hall. DO NOT STAY HERE. I booked my room with this hotel TEN MONTHS AGO, well in advance of a special event going on two weeks from now. I found out by email a few of days ago that this hotel cancelled my reservation - without giving me any reason. The cancellation email implies the room was canceled at MY request. THIS IS UNTRUE. I've spoken twice to the desk person, Marcy. On June 26 she stated that "Booking.com canceled it." This is false. I have spoken to Booking customer service multiple times. As far as they are concerned, my reservation at this hotel is STILL CONFIRMED. I spoke again with this Marcy person today, July 1, and she stated that she didn't know why the room was canceled and that she would pass my inquiry on to her manager - who is once again "out of the office." Multiple requests to speak to the manager of this property via phone and email by both me AND by Booking.com have gone unanswered. It is BAD BUSINESS that hotels triple/quadruple their room rates when there is a special event in town. But to cancel someone's reservation without warning - a reservation that was made many months ago - just so they can charge another customer a MUCH higher room rate is absolutely SLEAZY. Unfortunately, they canceled my reservation with so little time to find another room in the city, and now most decently priced rooms have been booked. So we came in yesterday for the Stevie Nicks concert and let me say this place was busy the front desk guy John was great he held my keys for me he breezed through the long line he was by himself. We usually stay at the Hyatt this hotel doesn't charge for parking. When we checked in the AC wasn't working John was quick to get us moved he was upbeat cheery just fantastic. We will be booking here for the colts season coming up you definitely get a great deal here and the rooms are updated. Besides it being a dump my card was charged three weeks after staying there at multiple online liquor stores in Indy. When we checked in the computers were down and subsequently we gave our info. This place is a complete dump! They need to remodel and in a hurry! I know things take time.. but GD! Room was dismal, the only windows were in our room and sure it was big and roomy, but there were stains on Carpet in that front room. The one night I asked about an extra blanket because I was sick, but the gal at the desk said they were "all sold out" really??? The truth of the matter was she didn't want to deal with it, because the next day we asked Housekeeping if they had anything extra and they promptly had it to our room. Bad CUSTOMER service!! Right downtown and close to plenty of food, shopping, and nightlife spots. They have their own parking lot (valet only) which takes the stress out of finding parking downtown. All the valets were super friendly and quick. The room was very clean, modern, and comfortable. Shower had great pressure and was hot. Awesome. Our room had a microwave and mini fridge as well. The bad: I was without hot water for 24 hours, because "it was being worked on," inside my room two light switches do not work, the mini refrigerator does not work, the air conditioning temperature regulator does not work basically it is either on or off, the walls are filthy. The hallway smells of mildew, the carpets are stained, the walls are black. Other areas the walls have been patched and painted but they do not match. This was a really great hotel for us while we played a show at the Hi-Fi in downtown Indianapolis! The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They have valet parking and their own lot. Our van and trailer was too big to fit but there is plenty of street parking right next to the hotel. We got a really great night's rest before getting back on the road! They are going through renovations right now so I can't wait to see what they do with the hotel. I always try to book La Quintas because they are pet friendly, but to be able to find one right downtown near the venue was unheard of! I was heading into downtown Indianapolis for a conference at the Crowne Plaza and wanted to bring along my dog to save on boarding costs. I was excited to see that a new La Quinta (renovated older hotel) had opened in downtown. I called to make sure they were open and to ask for the dog policy. Here are the Pros and Cons of this new place (keep in mind they had only been open a few weeks or less at the time of my stay - some kinks were expected) Cons: Check-in took a while - the attendant was a little flustered when 3 separate guests all showed up at the same time; A little further away from the middle of the action; When the doors shut, they slam shut; Next to a helicopter tour place, not too loud but it could have been Pros: Price - Can't beat less than $80 per night in downtown Indy; Pet Friendly - any room and no charge!!!; Parking - free AND covered in the hotel so pretty easy to monitor; Breakfast - Waffles, coffee, cereal, pastries, fruit; Rooms - Very comfortable beds, desk, LCD tv with basic cable, microfridge, great shower pressure, and all the regular amenities; helpful staff; close to the action but far enough removed for a restful evening I really do recommend this hotel! I used to be very skeptical of La Quinta but the company has really improved their rooms and amenities. This hotel is nicely updated and offers an affordable option for downtown Indianapolis. The downtown La Quinta here is a very comfortable place to stay at a reasonable price and well located. In my recent experience, we were welcomed by friendly staff which set the tone for an enjoyable visit. They offer secure valet parking making it easy to check right in and not worry about finding a place to park downtown. It seemed there was a small amount of renovations going on while we were there but the rooms were up-to-date, clean, and cozy. I slept like a rock! Though we weren't able to take advantage of the breakfast the space was inviting and the coffee was fresh. For fans of craft beer, the hotel is located within walking distace of Sun King Brewery. This is an old hotel...and not in a good way. It was obviously something else before it was a La Quinta and has been there a long time. La Quinta remodeled the lobby and rooms, but it's still an old hotel. The outside of it is not inviting as you can see from the pics people have put up. La Quinta should just knock it down and build a standard nice La Quinta here instead of slapping their name on an old rectangle box. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. All the TV stations were bad quality and snowy, bad picture quality. The toilet/bathtub and sink/vanity are separate rooms. I don't like that kind of setup. Also the sink/vanity area was very dark. You need good lighting in that area.I felt like I was in a cave. VERY noisy area. Not only are there train tracks close by, evidenced by the LOUD train horns, but the Downtown Indianapolis Heliport is about 10 feet behind the hotel. So you will hear both trains and helicopters plus sirens. The night I was there were supposed to get tornadoes. I was kind of looking forward to them as the noise would drown out the trains, helicopters, and sirens. The elevators are teeny tiny and seem like antiques. At the most 2 people can fit in there with suitcases. Breakfast was the standard free breakfast. They were out of orange juice, which I didn't appreciate, since the only other juice option was apple juice, which I hate. The staff were great, maybe the only saving grace of this place, along with its downtown location which let's you walk to everything. Overall though I can't recommend this hotel due to the heliport right behind it, train tracks right behind it, and old condition of the hotel. Spend a little more for a better hotel downtown. read more

We had a great experience at La Quinta, the rooms were clean and the staff were friendly and accommodating, and the location is great. And there is no extra charge for our two dogs! They were able to book us last minute for a few days, and they let us change the booking to be a day shorter after the first night and refunded us when our plans changed. My brother was bitching about bug bites he imagined and they immediately switched our rooms and gave us a discount even though the bug bites were imaginary. The location is really good as well, walking distance to the mall and many places to eat. We would have had to rent a car so it saved us a lot of money. It's a little expensive, but worth it since it's in the center of downtown. I highly recommend it. read more

This is an older hotel that is undergoing some badly needed renovations, so it may improve as those continue, but right now, this is hard to recommend. The entire hotel is old and everything from ancient, stained carpets, to low water pressure, and mysterious odors just leaves the whole place unpleasant. The elevator is incredibly small, slow and feels like it is still from the 70's. It is within walking distance of many of downtown Indy's restaurants and such, but it isn't the most convenient. I have to say though that the front desk staff were helpful, friendly, and always ready to assist so they "almost" make up for the rest of the hotel. If you are on a budget this will work, but keep your expectations low. Here's hoping the renovations go well. read more

The staff here is so incredibly friendly and happy to assist that they make up for the older hotel. The hotel itself is in a great location - only a mile from popular bars like Tiki Bob's and Kilroy's and right by the Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Parking is free and is located in a "garage" on the main floor of the hotel. Actual parking garages right around the corner charge $15. The hotel itself is currently going through renovations, and it definitely needs them. The beds are very comfortable, but the bathrooms need work. Depending on which room you're in, the hotel can be very noisy from nearby busy streets (but when I asked if we could move to a quieter room, the receptionist was happy to help). I would recommend this hotel to anyone balling on a budget and wanting to be close to popular downtown locations. I loved not having to worry about parking and interacting with the staff. read more

Understandable that they did not want to lose out on the over 400 volleyball teams that were in town. With just a little planning on their part, they could have been up and running at a decent level. Being sold out you would think would make sure they had enough OJ for the weekend. But they ran out at Saturday breakfast and was told late Monday that more OJ was coming. Did not staying other day just to see if they got more. Had a two bed in the room and both were not properly made by staff. It was like they did not care. I am glad that the staff was extraordinarily enthusiastic and kind. The hotel should have been closed. It was under major renovation and no areas were contained by any plastic or anything else. Our clothes an everything else including our breakfast table were coated with drywall dust. We stayed two nights (no other rooms available downtown) and our room was not cleaned in between. They just added towels. Our remote did not work so no TV choices other than the weather channel. They tried new batteries -- no luck. The tub had a rusty spot. The towels were brand new but still had the inspection sticker on them so had not been washed. The elevator did not feel safe and had no railing so difficult for my elderly mother. The piles of debris and building materials made the parking lot difficult to navigate and dangerous. read more

Located about a mile off I-65 and a few miles from the heart of downtown Indy, this La Quinta is clean and has small rooms. What made my stay a pleasant one was the super friendly front desk staff. I love how accommodating the front desk guys are. When I first checked in, I was greeted with "Hello and Merry Christmas!" He was genuinely interested in my stay and how my travel was going. Check-in was easy and quick, and the staff was very polite when I had called earlier that day. A different front desk I greeted me in the morning the next day. He complimented me on how cute my dog was, and gave me a bag of fancy dog biscuits from the local dog bakery! I was checking out kind of late, and they were closing up breakfast, but he went and got me an oatmeal pack and a spoon for the road. FIVE STAR SERVICE! I slept comfortably knowing the room was clean- sheets were a bit worn but we're starch white, and the towels were also super white smelling of detergent and bleach! I am a German neat freak, and after doing my walk-in ritual going thru the whole room, the only thing I found was an eyelash in the bathtub! I don't have many negative things to say about this place other than the room would not be big enough to stay multiple nights, and like other reviewers mentioned, the elevator is the size of a small closet lol. Reasonably priced and comfortable, I would def recommend this La Quinta for a solid mid-grade hotel. read more

The front desk staff was very friendly, and I liked that they had indoor and outdoor parking spots. The check-in people were super nice! However, it's $20 extra a night to park. The room we stayed in had a VERY noisy vent in the bathroom that always came on when you turned on the light. Not only that, but the vent cover was falling off the wall. There was no back on our tv remote but that wasn't a huge deal. There was someone's hair on the bottles of "complementary" shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo and conditioner little bottles were half used. They didn't leave soap although they had it. The creamer and coffee that they left in our room to brew in the morning had gone bad and looked disgusting. This was a gift from my mom and they had trouble charging her card so we used our card to pay and they turned around and charged her card too. Then the manager tried to say they only charged her account even though we have proof that they charged mine and hers. So aside from the nice check-in staff I wouldn't recommend booking stays at this hotel. read more
