We did 2:00 Sunday afternoon at La Poussiere. Really large dance floor and super friendly people. The band played authentic Cajun music, great musicians and fun upbeat tunes, a little country waltz, two step and swing. Had a blast! There is a $10 cover charge but the drinks are dirt cheap. We felt very welcomed and talked between songs to a few different people. They came to our table to chat!! What?! That doesn't happen much anywhere. I wish we lived closer. read more

There is only one La Poussiere ! A truly authentic Cajun Dance Hall. Most if not all of the old Cajun dance Halls in Southwest LA & Southeast TX are gone. None were better than La Poussiere. This is a classic Louisiana dance hall. It was large, clean, air-conditions, with exceptional bands on a regular basis. The crowd was a friendly dance crowd of locals and visitors. There's a certain part of the dance floor that's exceptionally bouncy, probably due to termites underneath.
