The service is friendly, as it is a bigger town there is always someone here who speaks English, and they offer basic Post Finance services (there is a Post Finance machine outside). With the upgrade they implemented a new ticket system that has made the process of waiting more efficient. You take a number and then wait for your number to be called. While you are waiting you can look through the small shop area that they have.

On Mindy's side, this place is much bigger and better equipped than the smaller regional post offices in Geneva. On Myke's side, there seem to be other post offices that may not be quite as big, but comparably well equipped. I have not always had someone who speaks English, but have generally been directed to someone who did when asked. Service is hit or miss in terms of friendliness, but efficient as a whole. I do like the collection of humorous post cards, and I'm always tempted to grab a few and send them to random friends, except for the fear that my lack of French skills will lead to me sending a wildly inappropriate post card by mistake. Despite the many things here to browse, I usually don't get a chance to as there is rarely a line and I've never had to kill more than five minutes here. Don't people send things by post anymore?? I'm also a bit confused by Myke's "they only take cash" and Mindy's "they don't take cash" observations, as I've always paid in cash but have alway seen credit card machines at each counter. Sorry I couldn't break the tie, guys!

This is a basic Swiss Post office. It has a great location as you make your way to the train…read morestation and it has a bit of everything, selling lightbulbs, books, and phones. They have a ticketing system in place and service is always rapid. I've had great luck each time i've went working with the teller in english. One downside to La Poste is that it's cash only. Keep that in mind when you have to mail packages/letters.

The post office in Lausanne Gare CFF is spacious and has a philatelic shop. As many Post offices in Switzerland, this office has a pretty decent size Post Shop where you can buy electronics and office supplies. The hours are great as well. It usually open until 8pm during weekdays and 4pm on Saturdays. The cons are that they don't accept any sort of debit or credit card Visa, Mastercard. They accept only cash or Postcards payment. You can nevertheless go down the escalator to the nearest ATM to withdraw some money.

She receives confirmation that a package has arrived in the post, then upon attempt to pick up, they say it can not be found and to file a complaint with the US post. What is the US post supposed to do about a package that this specific office has lost? Furthermore, the customer service is rude, condescending, and lacks straight forward directions. This office brings shame upon the French-Swiss.
