Upon arrival an extremely friendly staff member completed the check-in and provided the room key cards. She also mentioned a unique Platinum benefit they offer - a $50 daily food and beverage credit. This really came in handy when we wanted some mini-bar items or afternoon cocktails at their restaurant Lumen. Late 4:00pm Platinum checkout was confirmed at check-in and was noted in the Bonvoy app as well. We had an Imperial King Room which had a lovely view of Rome and was quite spacious for a European hotel. The bathroom was well-equipped with bath and shower and luxurious Acqua di Parma toiletries. One minor issue - it was challenging to work the television as it was very slow to respond to remote control entries. It was also challenging to find English speaking programs. Additionally, there were no streaming services (e.g., Netflix) available and no way to connect the TV to a phone or iPad to stream programs. The bed was extremely comfortable with very soft sheets. The bathroom towels were thick and luxurious. Staff were extremely friendly and responsive - when we needed ice it was delivered expeditiously to the room. Platinum members receive complimentary breakfast daily for two which was a truly grand affair. A gigantic buffet of hot and cold items including various pastries and breads as well as a chef for eggs and omelettes to order. Mimosas are also included (ask your server)! This was a wonderful way to start the day, but I would've like a bit of variation as the items seemed identical day to day. The hotel location is quite convenient and is within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps. It is also within easy walking distance of two different subway lines, and it's a quick ride to the colloseum. I highly recommend this hotel for your visit to Rome!

The breakfast buffet is one of the best I ever experienced in all my years of traveling with so many options you cannot possibly try them all. The omelette chef was so accommodating and friendly. We had lunch there the day we arrived, breakfast each day and even decided to dine there for dinner one night instead of going out. All the servers went above and beyond for us and made us feel so welcome. They have live music that is very classy and works great for the environment of the hotel. We saw several different duos for evening and breakfast services. We spent three nights in this hotel before we boarded our cruise ship and really enjoyed every minute there. We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a suite which was very spacious. It was like a little apartment! It is located in an area which is separate from the actual hotel. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a very comfortable stay. They serve a complementary breakfast every morning, which was quite extensive and delicious! In the evenings before dinner, they do serve some appetizers and wine, almost like a "happy hour". If I ever return to Rome, definitely would like to stay in this hotel again. However, it is quietly nestled in a beautiful little neighborhood. It is very quiet and quaint. Upon arrival we were greeted with the welcoming staff and escorted into the ruins beyond the lobby where we were brought a lovely tiramisu welcome treat to enjoy while taking in the ruins. The room is impressively large with a huge bathroom. We had a plush king sized bed with cozy down bedding. The thick beautiful curtains ensured that the room was perfectly dark for great sleep even if we wanted a mid day nap. There was a lovely little balcony with a view of the courtyard. With the curtains open the natural light is perfect. The bed was comfortable and we Sisto very nicely here. The bathroom is very big with a walk in shower and bidet with all toiletries needed to have a comfortable stay. I will say I was a bit bummed that the tile warmer was not functional but the hotel was very kind offering anything to make sure that we were happy. This was not a problem and we stayed in this room as warming towels us a perk but not a requirement. I would also note that the building is quite old and the bathroom had a metallic smell perhaps from the pipes of older plumbing but it was fine as long as we kept the bathroom door closed. I think the hotel was really concerned that we were upset but we absolutely were not just keep in mind this building is antique and if you are coming from the US where everything is new and not used to a potential aroma of antiquity be prepared to experience a true European city and do not complain. All details are thought of here including mini bar, clothes steamer, hair dryer, toiletries and a welcome gift. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. They are always ensuring that we were comfortable and happy. We absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel is a special place and experience. The nostalgia of standing and staying where the Romans once stood 2000 years ago was definitely a treat! The hotel has a rooftop terrace where we enjoyed breakfast in the mornings and wine in the evening. The lounge just inside of the terrace is cozy and comfortable to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail in the evening and there's a cozy fireplace to warm up, which we took full advantage of after a long wet rainy day in the colosseum and Roman forum. They would have sunken blood shot eyes with pale skin and slurred speech which are very consistent with drug use (lots of wiping and sniffing noses and strong marijuana smells coming from them while they walked past us). My family and I booked 4 nights and had to leave after the second because the odor of drugs. Our door lock to our patio fell off the first time used the door, the water from the shower would form a large puddle in the bathroom during even a short and low water shower (obviously it wasn't directing water to the drain), the hotel hallway carpets are stained and had musty odors, and the air conditioning would not cool our room lower that 25 degrees C(77 degree F). We were moved from one hotel room to another. We had problems in both rooms which would seem like it was us the patrons but if you research the reviews (lowest) you will see the same complaints. After we were moved we found out patrons had their rooms broken into and thousands of euro stolen from their rooms as well as their passports. This put us on alert after the problems we were having. We put our do not disturb hangers on the door and had to walk around with our valuables. While we were sleeping, someone came by and took our "do not disturb" hangers and replaced them with a "come in and clean" hanger. Hotel manager Romina Di Marzio and Alessandro Landini were contacted and seemed very apathetic, they were not concerned. While I was making more complaints, another patron came to make the same complaint. This was laughable because Romina and Alessandro were basically telling us they didn't believe us. We took them to awful smell on the first floor and second floor of the hotel with pungent marijuana smell and they had to admit it at that point. Olga Piscopo (the general manager) was said to have been contacted and we were told we would get a call to sort this matter out but we never did. Video surveillance was "checked" by Romina (allegedly) and she said it only looked like staff near our door overnight which further proves that staff was targeting my family. This was an awful experience and this hotel and staff should be ashamed of themselves. My family was seriously concerned. We had to pick up and find another place to stay and lose all the things we had planned in that area. We were assured that police were notified and an investigation was taking place by Romina directly. Stefano Mordenti from Ares group called me (the one who manages these posts by the way) and threatened me with trying to find out where I'm staying in Italy. After I told him who I observed using the drugs. He berated me and my wife on the phone for making a complaint. So now we are being targeted by Ares group directly for making complaints about the hotel. Update: So it is now over a week since my stay and after countless calls and emails to try to rectify being overcharged, I'm still waiting for something to be done. I was given a receipt with all of my charges and told I would be refunded the difference from what paid initially because I left early because my stay was awful. They pay for good reviews to quiet the truthful reviews that show how terrible this hotel is. They hand out cards asking for 5 stars when they want to get the good reviews to overshadow the truthful bad reviews. Reviewers on google state that they were contacted to give 5 star reviews for money. The person responding to these reviews is Stefano, he was unprofessional and lacked courtesy. Update: since posting this review they refuse to refund the money they agreed to refund me. Credit card dispute started.

We had room 501, which is a two room suite overlooking the back garden wall and outdoor dining area. There was a beautiful balcony off of the bedroom that had a quaint round table that seated four, and an accompanying umbrella. It was the perfect spot to enjoy room service or just sit and read. The view from the balcony was of the back garden wall and the patio dining below. Everything was tastefully decorated, and impeccably cleaned. The mattresses, linens, and pillows are all exceedingly comfortable. The rooms are very quiet. We did not hear any noise from the outside or the hallway. Our meals here were all excellent. While Rome has myriad dining options, it is nice to not have to leave the hotel after a long day on foot. We preferred to have our meals outside or in our rooms because we wanted to be careful since we needed a negative Covid test to get home. All of our meals had generous portions and zero leftovers. We wanted to savor every bite. In particular, I want to give a shout out to the individual who created the Bloody Mary. I will pine for this drink. I beg of you, please give me the recipe.
