We started with vino of course from a long selection of local Tuscany wines. We then split a vegetable salad that was topped with fresh balsamic and olive oil, bread, phenomenal Cacaio e Pepe and a pizza. They cook the pizza on a wood fire grill so we had to try it! One of the servers kept telling other tables about "cake" so of course we inquired and settled on chocolate. It was delicious! Service was great and accommodating to English which was helpful. The owner and staff were all very friendly and welcoming and remembered us when we came back. They also grind their coffee for you to take home and I was able to get some espresso and french press blends for gifts. They have coffee tins as well which make great gifts. The croissants were the best we had in Italy too! Definitely recommend.

Tried the broad bean puree and Roman style artichoke side dish as starters. Both were delicious. For mains we had the lasagne Bolognese and tagliatelle Gessetto. Both were excellent. Hubby and I switched mid meal so we each had half of each pasta dish, neither of us could pick a favorite. The lasagne is cut into squares and baked so you have the best crunchy bits all round...what a great idea! I would be here weekly if I lived in the area! I felt a little bit like home, so it was a very nice atmosphere :-) Food wise, we shared polenta with my friend. It was pretty good, with bacon on top, but way too much food! I was full after that. Then I had some escalope with white wine (that I didn't taste) with some potatoes and salad. It was good but not unforgettable. The waiter was lovely and it wasn't a touristy place so I definitely recommend if you want to have good food in a calm place.
