Been meaning to come here for ages and finally made it. Gorgeous restaurant set in a gorgeous old…read morestone building just at the edge of the village. The interior is nicely done up has nice white tablecloth settings, quite traditional French. Food here is also classical French cuisine from the region with hints of flavours from Europe. The menu is seasonal with about 5-6 choices per course. Food here is great and service is also excellent and friendly. My entree of crayfish and dumpling made with mushrooms was really good. My main was nice but lacked a bit of seasoning. The mash was lovely and not too rich and had bits of sweet potatoes through it. Apple tarte was also lovely. If you call ahead vegetarian options are made available and they were quite good about it. Wine list is good with lots of wines from the region and cheese tray was great. All in all a great experience we would happily repeat again. It's good seasonal cuisine at a reasonable price.

Unfortunately, when my wife arrived, she got told that it wasn't what we agreed upon and "Votre mari n'est vraiment pas sympa" (which means: your husband is really not nice). For the starters, the waitress gave the plate to a guest and asked her to hand out the plates with no explanation. All the guest at the table agreed that the food was really tasty but unfortunately the bad service made it a disappointing experience. After this event I emailed the restaurant with a copy of the original email where they agreed I would pay the day after and never got any answer.

PARFAIT - PERFECT!…read more Here are the bullet points: - I describe this place as THOUGHTFUL - clean! - English translation of menu = bonus - great location - great ambience - music matches mood - very reasonably priced (this restaurant in Paris would be charging 2-3 times the price) - timing between courses was perfect - relaxed and enjoyable but never forgotten about - portions were perfect REVIEW:: This is the place you want to go when in the Dordogne region. This is the perfect blend of fine dining without being pretentious about it. A restaurant like this in Paris would be double if not triple the price. The presentation is a reflection of the flavor: thoughtful and exquisite! Classic French meets modern flavor. Five stars for everything from service, ambience, cleanliness and taste. The portion size and timing of each course was truly perfect and both complimented each other. These people care about what they do and that is reflected in the nuances of this diamond in the rough.
