Of the many salons in the Northern Nevada area I have been to, I want to express my personal preference and say that I absolutely love La Nova. The calming environment is something that is very important to me and La Nova is very peaceful And relaxing. The Italian products used here are absolutely top tier. The genuine care of staff and quality of service is truly unmatched in this area. I received a waxing a few days ago, I'm not happy with my service. Mahira missed multiple spots, She lifted the cover up around my genitals and butt area to wax(I was trying to be understanding and understand that she was just doing her job) but in forums that I'm in, The esthetician is supposed to ask if it's ok before doing so, It felt violating honestly. Many in these forums also said having a lot of misses spots after a waxing isn't normal. They told me usually places offer a complimentary touch up when missed spots occur, I called Mahira and asked for one but she never got back to me(It went straight to voicemail when I called a few days ago). No matter what beauty/health treatment you are having done, walking into this shop is a spa treatment for your senses. Smells divine ( in a natural, plant-based essential oils kind of way). They always offer me a welcome beverage and a health bar snack. Everyone is at the top of their field but I make sure to go quarterly so Laura can refresh my curls. No one has ever made my hair look so fabulous. The plant based products from European "Oway" line works wonders, but the great smell is something you can't find anywhere else. Love this salon ! After going through a few other color stylists elsewhere Tahoe to Carson ... took me awhile to find the best in this area of expertise:) I actually met a sweet gal who had beautiful healthy color and asked her who she used. Although appts were 2 months out ( this is a good sign ) it was well worth the wait :) They use organic natural products from Italy, egg shell paper instead of foils.. different hair product systems for what you need at a personal level, and well educated in answering all your questions. I got highlights & copper lowlights and a trim. I'm so picky with my hair and felt this was worth reviewing:) So thankful for La Nova and my Stylist ps they have facial products as well read more

While I was excited to find La Nova salon because of the emphasis on (mostly) organic products, I am beyond disappointed that she raised prices 30% without informing current clientele. Prices should never be raised 30%, especially with the current inflation and most particularly without informing customers. It took three messages from me before she finally admitted to raising color prices 30%. When I politely expressed disappointment that I wasn't informed about the price raise until after I paid (and gave a 20% tip), she didn't even have the courtesy to reply. I'm a forgiving person, and we all make mistakes. I would have simply accepted an apology and stayed her client. Making things right with loyal customers is good business practice. What should have been done was offer me credit (or a refund) for the extra 30% I didn't know I was paying, while informing all clientele that color will be 30% more going forward. At the very least she should have replied to my polite query the first time and been upfront about the increase. I don't give my business to someone who isn't transparent about prices and disrespects customers. I can quickly find a better hairstylist with ethical business practices (and I have). read more

When you walk in a total sense of calm exudes this space! Laura is a total color expert and is so personable. Its hard not to tell her your life story... ha ha... But the best part is I am in and out quickly! Under 2 hours for cut and color is great in my book. These people love their technology - latest in everything! No hair dryer to set my color, some infrared something was used to set the all natural product she colored my hair with. I have a neck injury that makes the sink always uncomfortable, but everything is so ergonomically set up I didn't have my normal discomfort or headache!
