So I'm really disappointed in this item. I saw them on Instagram and it looked so good! So I decided to go. Well as I began to eat it I didn't realize that it's just strawberry ice cream with strawberries. Super disappointed because fresas con crema is different from what I know it as. Definitely won't order this again.

AS SIMPLE AS ONE, TWO, or THREE FINGERS Ice cream is an international dessert. Everyone has had ice cream. Excellent method to detect the flavors most popular for that region or country. For example Bubble Gum (blue) is a favorite amongst Latin children. Mango and coconut for Asians and South Americans. Vanilla and chocolate with Westerners. All the flavors are labeled and spoon size samples are given for free. Just point and hold up one, two or three fingers for number of scoops with a nod of approval and simple smile. Yu-go's favorite is the more expensive fancy Chamango with the mango fruit & ice cream. I've tried nearly all the Latin little mom and pop ice cream shops in the valley. The very best ice cream is here @La Neveria. A deserving big thumbs up for Aldo the owner. Next time I'll remind myself to try their hot meals. They all look muy scrumptious.

    Disgusting

Horrible place! I ordered a Crepe with fruit. The fruit was old. The bananas looked black they should have been thrown away and the strawberries! Expensive and Disgusting! Do NOT Waste Your money! Go Somewhere else!

Chamango Ice Cream Chamafresa Ice Cream

This place used to be so good. Chamangos and chamafresas were EVERYTHING. but recently the chamango I got, the icecream was very bland, very watery, not enough mango taste. And the Chamafresa literally had the smallest amount of ice-cream. The chamango held up perfectly fine when we got home, but the chamafresa was literally all liquid and just a million strawberries. You gotta balance it. It used to have more chamoy I think, (gotta season the tacos, you know?) 75% ice-cream and then 25% fresas. (We put them in our own containers, they come in cups lol)

    Chamango!!

I've always been a mangonada girl, but this spot turned me on to the chamango- featuring fresh mango chunks and a tamarind-candy straw. The fruit is fresh, the portions are large, prices are low, and service is friendly. They have cases of aguas frescas and ice creams, along with several shake and smoothie options, including fresh strawberries and cream. The ice cream flavors are about evenly split between traditional American flavors (strawberry, pistachio, cookies and cream) and traditional Mexican flavors (pine nut, guanabana, pineapple-coconut). Texture was a bit softer, closer to a gelato, than usual ice creams, and they seem to melt quickly- will be sticking to the chamangos and mangonadas to get me through the summer heat. EDIT July 2017: Okay, now I'm addicted to the Chamapina. Jesus, take the wheel!

After a performance at the nearby Winchester Cultural Center, I used my Yelp app to find an ice cream place. A couple of chain yogurt places came up as did La Neveria which was just a block and a half from where I was. La Neveria is Spanish for the ice cream parlor. I found the store quickly. On entering, I noticed it was crowded but there were some seats available. I took my time studying the various options--a shake, a smoothie, food, or just ice cream. I ended up getting the ice cream I came for. After looking at the different flavors, I ordered a two scoop cup of guanabana and pineapple-coconut. I used to drink guanabana juice on breaks during my working days and I like the flavor. After paying and getting my cup, I noticed that the group who had been at the long counter at the windows had gone and I had a great seat waiting. The ice cream was good. It's not artisan ice cream but it's good and it hit the spot. The women working the counter were pleasant and helpful. The place was clean and bright. This is what I love about living in a big city with a diverse population. You never know where your next find will be.

However the night quickly turned sour when we tried to exit. We came in through the ally in the back because we purchased a special ticket for Juneteenth. We came in ordered a drink and then went upstairs. Music was great vibes great. I always wondered why my job was soooo big on a "notable farewell" and now I get it. We tried to exit the through the same area where we entered. It looked like an entrance only area so we saw an exit sign to the left of the bar in the back. We walked over but we saw it blocked off. We 100% WERE NOT going to try to get past the blockage however the Asian, woman, bartender in the back promptly approached us shaking her finger and rolling her neck telling us we could not exit there. Well to us that was very obvious. When we asked her where to exit she blatantly ignored us and started flashing her flashlight at the security. Never helped or guided us at all! I get it she might have been tired of telling people that they cannot exit there all night, however it was out first time trying to locate an exit and for her to flip out on us like that is unacceptable. We eventually made our way to a security guard who told us to exit in the front. AT NO POINT did ANYONE tell us "be sure to exit out the front". Maybe adding that line when entering through the back would be helpful. All in all I had a good night until the bartender in the back threw off the vibes of an otherwise successful Juneteenth.

Ghirardelli is the only chocolate I eat, sorry not sorry. :) It just tastes *different, and since I was a first timer to this location I had to take it all in. :) Service was OK enough. There was one employee who seemed to be manning the front entrance, greeting customers, etc., and then once he got them inside he would direct another employee to ring up the order. I only have been to the location at California Adventure, so I didn't have a lot to compare it to, but this was very good time as well. If you're at the Linq Promenade, you have to make a stop here.
