We stopped in here on a day of touring through Ancona, based on the promise of getting to sample two of the most well-known dishes of the region: Stoccafisso (stock fish) and Brodetto (the local version of a fish soup.) We were not disappointed in either! The stock fish may not be for everyone as it is a pretty hearty dish, but it was great to sample and compare with the brodetto that offered a great variety of local fish and shellfish. In fact, my partner declared the brodetto here so good, it was his favorite meal of our entire 2+ week trip. We also had a beautiful and delicious seafood antipasti of paper-thin raw fish served with fresh fruit and vegetables. Everything was as lovely to look at as it was good to eat.
Service was very friendly and accommodating. The weather that day was on and off raining, and while we were dining outside they kept trying to adjust the umbrellas and our tables to keep us dry. Eventually they ushered us inside when the rain got too heavy, and we lingered over espresso and grappa until the storms cleared and we could continue our journey. I would definitely recommend this place to other visitors looking to sample some of the unique dishes of this region of Italy. read more
