I am the type of girl that prefers dive bars and house parties...and this place fits the bill. It reminds me of one of my fave spots here in SD. Large bar area, plenty of tables for small groups. Prettysure I spotted pool tables in the back. Cheap drinks, good people. They had a huge, awesome buck mounted above the entrance that was decorated for Christmas. The building has to be over 125 years old. As my friend said, you know if people was their hands because the only sink is just outside the restrooms. Despite the buildings dated charm, it was clean. Our server took our order quickly and the food came soon after, and boy did the food come. Three of us ordered two cheeseburgers and an order of half and half - cheeseballs and french fries. I ordered a cheeseburger for myself and my friend and his cousin split a cheeseburger. The portions are enormous. The half and half filled a regular sized dinner plate and was spilling off the sides. The burger hung off the bun by a couple inches on all sides. Food taste was fine. The cheeseballs and fries tasted like typical Sysco or US Foods. Nothing fancy or notable other than the price and the size of the order. The burger was also good not really great. Decently seasoned, cooked to medium/medium well, I prefer mine closer to medium rare. This too was memorable due to the size and price. $7.50 for an 11 ounce cheeseburger is unheard of anymore and $8 for two full pounds of fries and cheese curds is CRAZY! You definitely get your moneys worth here. Bottom line: Good food Enormous portions (That make it the real reason to come her) Great value

First off: No pool/darts/shuffle board/stereo during 'dinner hours.' Makes the old people grumpy. Plus, there's a sign. My family of 6 was satisfied. I think prices are a little high, but they're the ONLY place around here other than the casino. Full bar. A lot of beers on tap. Bathrooms are nice. A neat little photo op area out front. Niobrara Nebraska is a tiny town, but with the rivers and rolling hills it's pretty. The restaurant didn't look promising from the street but when you drive around the back it had a cute entrance. Inside is smallish with a bar on one side of a half divider and tables on the other. The interior decor was definitely sportsman themed with taxidermy animals everywhere and an antler chandelier. But it was clean and cute. Great wooden bar and tin ceiling. There were maybe 10 people in here on a Tuesday night and several looked like regulars watching Wheel of Fortune at the bar. The service was good, one bartender who was also waiting tables but I didn't wait long for anything I ordered a sweet tea which had a weird flavor so I exchanged it for a Coke which was also weird so I didn't drink it. I ordered a bacon burger but since they only had American cheese, I got mine sans cheese. That said, the burger was good. It was big and really juicy and the thick sliced bacon was a nice addition. I ordered cheese curds instead of fries and they were also good. Definitely not a gormet place, but it was solid. And considering it's the only thing in Niobrara Nebraska, it's great compared to the competition! Edited to add that the women's restroom smelled weird, there were two stalls but one was out of order. The stall had two swinging doors with a two inch gap right down the middle. And the doors were so close to the toilet that they literally slapped me on my ass on my way in!

I'm going to try and not make this review a comparison between the two. The location isn't the easiest to get to, but parking is ample. It's also connected to a family fun center and a bowling alley. Right across the lot is the city's minor-minor-minor (I don't know the official term) baseball league home. It's all next to an ice rink that is used for sports and recreation. It's a great family-friendly area of Sioux City. Food is the same as the SSC location which is wonderful. They have the BEST burgers in town. I also LOVE their fries. The only thing not making these restaurants my favorites is the ranch dressing. They just use generic, bottled ranch. It's not good. I'd kill if they made actual 'restaurant' ranch. I've literally brought in my own ramekin of ranch when I'm craving a meal I usually eat with it. BUT, the brown gravy and queso are to die for. It would be a part of my last meal. Staff is great. This area has a smaller bar than the SSC area, but the bartenders whip up everything the same. I don't drink, but they're down for their margaritas. This place is kinda like a locally-owned Chilis, but with better food. A great place for even a couple drinks and some poutine.

Fried pickles spears with the rock n roll sauce were great. I wouldn't have ordered these except my server recommended them out of all the apps, so I went with that. Fried things at places like this usually lack flavor and are just salty, fried bar food. These had some kick. The rock n roll sauce was like a Mayo with Frito's Chili Cheese Twists, so they were yummy. Tilapia on wild rice was ok, but it's tilapia, so how amazing can it be, right? Broccoli wasn't too over cooked and it still had a healthy green color, so I was happy with that. And the fries were a tad greasy, but they came out hot and crunchy. I think if they let the oil drain off them a bit more under a heat lamp, they'd hold their crispness a bit longer. Oh, and it was an entire plate of fries, so portions were generous. Lastly, everything was served very quickly. The place wasn't super-busy, but it wasn't dead and I was happy about the timeliness. I ordered an app first then placed an order for my entree after munching on that. And I was out done in 45 minutes. Granted, I was eating alone, but still. If you enjoy meat, I highly recommend giving this place a shot. I am a pescatarian (mostly vegetarian) and I have a sneaking suspicion that their beef and chicken options have much more developed flavors.

I was trying to eat light, so I had the grilled chicken breasts with veggies. I must say it was nice and moist and a generous portion. We all got plenty to eat and left full, which is a positive. The highlight and everyone's favorite was the soft pretzel with beer cheese appetizer. This one was above average, very good. The service was a little subpar. We stopped in after normal dinnertime hours, around 8:30 p.m., so luckily it wasn't busy, because the bartender had to bartend AND wait on tables. So he was stretched too thin. In his defense, there was a private party upstairs, so the wait staff was sent upstairs to tend to the party. However, they should have had enough staff on hand to handle both the regular business in addition to the party. Being that it used to be a lumber business, I did think the building was really neat.
