Gorkhali Asian Grocery specializes in Desi staples (e.g. Indian, Pakistani, Nepali) but also has some items from Southeast & East Asia and even a few from Latin America. There are also some kitchen goods, South Asian shampoos & soaps, and incense and other items for household shrines. I was pleased to find many people browsing this afternoon. This shop has something for everyone. I picked up panang curry paste, char siu marinade, some orange cream biscuits, Thai tea, and Lay's Magic Masala potato chips on this visit, but it's definitely going to become one of my go-to stores for bulk spices, lentils, beans, and rice. The young man at the register was very friendly and helpful with everyone. We're lucky to have local gems like this one!

But that's really not Aldi's forte. They had a bunch of grocery, deli, dairy, produce and a huge frozen section. Their prices are excellent, competitive even with Walmart. The brands are usually ones that you've never heard of, but they're still very good quality. They also have an interesting half-aisle of odd merchandise. These are almost "flea market" sort of things. Tools. Ponchos. Work out and exercise equipment. It tends to be a little random and you never know what you're going to find. Always worth checking out. So I didn't end up buying anything today but I can assure you that if you're looking to do a full weekly shop, you'll find it all here at Aldi.

I ended up taking the long way around to get home in order to come here, but if I had not done that, I probably would not have gotten to one of these until I headed home after the weekend. Pennsylvania does not have many of these, mostly around higher populated communities. So no where near where I was going to be. Made my route here and parked. Ran inside with my list of items. Mostly nonessential items that I wouldn't have to worry about going bad. I was going to get the grocery portion on my way back home, but these home items were definitely needed. I definitely advocate on using the app to scan as you shop here. It allows you to clip coupons as you shop and even pay so you can bypass the registers to head to your vehicle. I have opted for this on so many occasions now. I grabbed everything I definitely had on my list. Then I grabbed things that definitely not on my list. Paid in the app, and was back outside before the stores started to roll in.
