True, that if you have been to a branch before the decor seems familiar and even the hit tunes of the 50's and 60's still captivate young and old with their playful innocence, but this branch is situated in Stockport Peel Centre - the real hub of upmarket shops in the area. Perfect for an early morning snack or a balanced meal later in the day, i highly recommend this Frankie and Benny's. The food is reasonably priced and there is a wide variety on the menu - especially comapred to local rivals such as Pizza hut. The food is often served at a spruce pace with friendly and helpful service. The usual clientele are usually well dressed although the place is sometimes subjected to a slightly raucous teenage birthday meal - however when the lights dim and Cliff Richards 'Celebration' plays and they are presented with a free birthday dessert they usually calm down (mostly through embarrassment)

It's a good example of well-made traditional dishes in a modern, clean setting (although I'd prefer more rustic decor to match the food, so hard to come by these days). The menu itself is mostly made up of pasta, fish and meat dishes, and whilst it's quite short, there's a blackboard with daily specials that always has something that stands out. The last time I came here I tried the Penne Senese: penne pasta with Tuscan fennel salami, walnuts, brandy, cream and parmesan. It was heavenly. I also tried some of my date's Tuscan style wild boar meat stew, a little more expensive than my dish at £13.95 but well worth it, it melted in my mouth. The service was a little slow when I came here but the smiles and the overall atmosphere more than made up for it, and anyway, we were in no rush.

With a modern interior, low lighting and lots of relaxed customers there always seems to be an intimate and friendly feel to the place. The owner Emin seems to be a really friendly guy and couldn't do enough for us when we went last time. But, let's get to the most important part, the FOOD! They always have a good board of specials on, which includes the fish of the week, whilst the permanent menu has some great classics. They really know how to cook a great Bistecca, and the mussels I had for my starter in a white wine sauce are the best I've had in Manchester. I wouldn't recommend going during the week though as it's always pretty dead and so is the atmosphere, but if you like Italian food Friday and Saturday night are a good choice.

The olives are so fresh and garlicy and orgasmic. I love them. About as far as you can get from the dead brine shrivelled jarred variety you are normally presented with. And they came with like, bits of sliced up garlic. I would honestly go just for them. They also do some awesome sandwiches at lunch time, I think they're about six quid. They sounded really good too. Its super posh inside and really beautifully lit. The kitchen is exposed so you can enjoy all the corny banter between the floor and kitchen staff while you eat which is nice. You can sit outside too with the heat lamps. It was so warm I saw some guy with tribal tattoos take his shirt off. But it wasn't sinister I think it was just a bit of horseplay. They weren't rowdy. The pizzas and garlic breads are like huge fifties movies ufos. GO!
