He estimated that Cortland apples would be at their prime in the last week of September (2023) so I might come back then!

There's a tractor ride, 2$ per person, I think this is due to covid times and normally it might be free. A great big play area with lots of modules and play houses, a farm area nearby with all your must see farm animals like pig, chickens, Turkey, goats, picnic tables where you can watch your kids and a huge orchard. The covid measures were the usual, there are signs for 2 meter distance when being inside, sanitizers at the door before going in, mandatory masks inside, masks on the tractor. All in all, we had alot of fun. The apples are delicious, 20$for 20lbs bag and 13$ for 10 lbs. This might actually be my new favorite orchard as it's much cheaper then Quinn farm- no entrance fee.

Tickets are $14 per person and free for children 2 and younger. Totally worthwhile, as it's a pretty immersive experience and you're surrounded by tons of animals. The animals are friendly and not aggressive. The staff was also friendly and helpful. I would definitely wear some boots to the farm (especially if it's rained recently) and follow the directions on their website to find the farm.

Right when you walk onto the farm you're greeted by their gorgeous friendly dog Ava surrounded by a pond filled with chirpy ducks. You'll probably feel right at home here, as I did. For a reasonable fee, you can have a guided tour of the rabbits, goats, alpacas, and a free running miniature cow and miniature horses! Yes you can feed them! Some tips: 1) you must chop the food into bite sizes for the alpacas! 2) No cucumbers 3) No loose plastic bags. So, it's best to bring your food ready to feed the animals in a bag. Make sure you watch small children as the goats can be energetic when eating. Yes, you're in the enclosure with them right in the middle of the action! They also offer volunteer opportunities to the public a few times a year. I didn't find it too muddy but wear outdoor shoes just in case. Bring some hand wipes as I'm not sure if there's a hand washing station.

There are hundreds of places within a 1hr radius of Montreal to go apple picking, Magie de la Pomme is probably not the best in all categories but for what it does, it's a star. Firstly the donuts: get some immediately. They are like a softball of light fried dough, hot tart apple, and baking sugar. Secondly: everything else! Plenty of parking, a couple of different fun tractors you can ride on out into the fields to go picking, 2 or 3 kinds of apples to pick and, in the further field (you can walk or wait for the blue tractor,) dozens of varieties of squash. The apple orchard and gift shop area felt a little crowded - we were there on one of the last warm weekends of the fall - but we ventured out to the gourds where it was quiet, played with the baby and the squashes and the dirt and the bugs, took the last tractor back to the barn at about quarter to 5, had some apple juice in the sun, waved good bye to the goats, and hit the road happy. The is a family farm run by folk who have been in St Eustache for 6 generations and you can feel it in all the easy smiles. Enjoy!

The honey is a deep colour, I should have asked what they did to get the deep brown colour. I visited this location because someone told me it was an unpasteurized honey. Colour. Looks like a medium maple syrup, sweetness the same. Texture. The honey did not crystallize -weird. Taste medium sweetness not too sweet. Thickness. Runny, low viscosity than most honey farms. Tasting this, I suspect the honey is cut back a bit. Most speciality non pasteurize farms focused on honey from wild berries and variety. I'm not really a fan of this honey. I guess I got a pail of this to work on.

This is a really cool local spot to buy some homegrown mushrooms. Admittedly, the exterior of the…read morebuilding it's in is a little bit odd, but once you get inside you'll see how prepared they are to take care and grow their mushrooms. You place a pre order on their Instagram (a link to a Google sheets) and then you pick it up on the day you sign up for. You can pay via credit in person (they have a machine!) You can also buy your own mushroom growing kit. You decide exactly what mushroom you want to grow and you'll go home with one. They send you email instructions on how to grow your own mushrooms. It was $25 for the kit, and $20 for one pound of assorted mushrooms. The assorted mushrooms are awesome as I've never seen or eaten some of them! The folks working there are super friendly and knowledgeable. If you have any further questions, you can send them an email and they will help you out. I highly recommend buying your mushrooms from here, especially if you're looking to try new things! Also, they lost a lot of their business due to COVID - they were supplying restaurants but because many have closed, they're also feeling the pressures.

The farm itself is dedicated for pumpkins and squashes. It has both u-pick and non u-pick pumpkins and squashes. It wasn't huge, but it was quite large considering how many pumpkins there were still (and we hit the end of the season). At that point a few of the pumpkins have been rotting but there were still many to choose from. For the price: I'm not sure if this applies to all the time but they were having 5 ITEMS for $20 - so that means anything they have, you mix and match, you can purchase 5 of and it would only be $20. We bought 2 large carving pumpkins, 1 smaller pumpkin, leeks and butternut squash. It was awesome and even better to support local farmers. Their staff members were VERY friendly and helpful. They let us know what some of the more interesting pumpkins were for (example being the Hubbard blue- we've never seen them before and thought they were just sad pumpkins!) They recommenced coming earlier in the season (mid-October) as that's when there are more pumpkins on the u-pick farm. It was a lot of fun and I'm definitely looking forward to going back next year!

The restaurant offers a lunch menu and for 5$ you can add a soup & dessert to your meal. Great way to end a squash picking activity.
