I've eaten here for dinner four times and was very impressed by the quality and taste of all the dishes and wines. I highly doubt there's much better vegetarian/vegan food in the city, so I could highly recommend this place for dinner, although it is pretty expensive. There's a "special of the day" card on the first page of the menu. I've always ordered from this and was served very fresh tasting meals as a result, so if there's something you like on here, I think it'd be a good call. There's also free bread served with each meal with a side of bean and thyme spread. The chef brings out the dishes herself, which is a nice touch. Altogether, I really like this place and think you should go here if you want a higher-end vegetarian/vegan meal.

I had the risotto with Provence herbs and veggies (zucchini was the most memorable); creamy and cheesy, but still firm and not overcooked. Feels like they might have a copy of the Moosewood cookbook, or something similar. I picked up the peanut and pepper soup and bread as a side --- again, immediately reminded me of the Moosewood. The soup was savory, and the bread was fluffy but still hearty. The owner wasn't impressed by my first guess at a wine, and steered me towards a grechetto which better matched the risotto; I'm fine taking advice from someone who knows wine better, but there was definitely some steering. For dessert, I got the crème catalan --- a cinnamon version of a crème brûlée. Tasty, but a bit puddinglike for my taste, and I would have been happy with half a serving. Many of the other reviews describe it as a vegetarian restaurant, but it does serve a few meat specialties like jamón serrano. Piccolo Paradiso serves the food I cook for myself --- and they do it better than I do.

If you are looking for good Indian food, stay away from Manu. All of the distinctly different…read moredishes our group ordered had almost the same flavor, and very little of it. They were also served with tasteless manufactured bread rolls - no good breads like Naan, Roti, or Chapati were anywhere in sight. The salads were boring and dripping in what was obviously cheap store-bought dressing. The soup was a sickening combination of vaguely Indian spices and western vegetable soup.

The owner of the restaurant came over to our table and gave us wine suggestions... They serve you food, taking care that the presentation is properly and you can reach everything. The food itself is plenty and very good. Additionally they offer a wide variety of wines. I have never felt so good about spending a ton of money in a restaurant. Apart from their food and service I can heartily recommend the bottles of olive oil they sell. I have never found a good olive oil like that for a similar price.

Pretty good Indian food restaurant. We tried the chicken tikka masala, paneer curry and garlic…read morenaan. The food came out fast and looked really nice. They put nice little vegetable decorations on top of all their dishes. Not sure if this is needed to be honest, as the focus for me is the taste, not the decorations on top. It was my first time here and we agreed that the curries were simply not flavorful enough and tasted like tomato paste. The Indian curry spices were just not really there. The garlic naan was the highlight however. Hot and buttery and crispy. It could have been a bit more fluffy though. All in all, a pretty good place for Indian food if that's what you're in the mood for. However the search continues for me for the best Indian food in hamburg.

Non-food: 5/5 Food: 3/5…read more The decor and overall vibe of this restaurant is exquisite, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the menu has extensive vegetarian and meat options. After the meal, one is served mango schnapps and paan mukhwas. I ordered naan bread and spicy chicken tikka masala, which came with rice. My meal arrived very quickly, and the presentation of the food was very on-point (see attached photos), just like the ambiance. My waiter also brought a green chili sauce, which wasn't that spicy but tasted very good. I thought the tikka masala here wasn't bad but wasn't great and wouldn't order it again. I'd also recommend picking a different dish if you're between options. The naan was very tasty, and the rice was decent. I can recommend this restaurant for a group dinner due to the great ambiance and service quality. Despite not being super impressed with the taste of my entree, I left feeling very satisfied and want to come back to try a different dish.
