    While I wanted to like the property I got from La Jolla. When I arrived the property had not been cleaned at all and the pool was filled with algae. La Jolla was quick to respond and try and fix the situation. However, the pool had to be shocked and was unusable for half my trip. When it came time to get some money back from La Jolla, they would send random amounts money thru airbnb without any sort of discussion and wouldn't respond until after the 72 protection window thru airbnb. After the window passed they suggested I go thru airbnb in which airbnb said there was nothing that could be done since I was out of the 72 hour window. BEWARE of shady practices like this when you rent from them. If you run into trouble contact airbnb immediately and do not let them use their delay tactics to manipulate the system.

    My family rented one of the homes on Kellogg Beach out and it was amazing! Lots of space and right on our favorite beach. Had everything needed for a week of vacation and relaxing right on the beach! We will be back soon for sure!

    We recently stayed at the Ocean Beach property renting out the top and bottom unit for 4 days and 4 nights. Unfortunately I missed the opportunity to leave a review direct on Airbnb just yesterday because they give you just 2 weeks to do so. Location: could not be beat. Didn't have to drive anywhere the entire time. Deck and view in the upstairs unit were amazing. Restaurants and shopping everywhere. The reason for the 3 star review is due to lack of security and lack of cleanliness. We had issues with the air downstairs and upstairs. The vacation rental management came out once Friday but then had an air conditioning guy sent out. He came Saturday and entered the downstairs unit while my mother was in the shower and brother in law was sleeping which was very disconcerting. He had direct access with our entry codes given by management and this was simply not ok. No one let him in, he let himself in. When he finally made it to the upstairs unit he said it would take awhile to completely fix unit. It was 11 am and he had been there for an hour. After spending a couple grand on a vacation who wants to wait on a repair? Since the air was running again and according to the ac guy he just needed to gauge and likely top of the unit with a bit of freon we asked if he could come back when we checkout on Monday as we were trying to enjoy our time. He said he could come and go without any of us there since he has the codes and we could go ahead and leave. I made it clear that I was not comfortable with that and he agreed to come back Monday. The neighbors also have the gate code which didn't really bother us at it was only the gate but it's worth noting they're not too worried about sharing the code or what that could mean to the guests. Not sure they ever change these codes either. The lack of cleanliness was apparent right away in the upstairs unit, my daughters feet were black from the floor. There was no screen on the patio sliding door, no umbrella or shade on top deck, broken items such as dishwasher basket, window locks etc. Easy fixes, downstairs was updated so maybe they plan to work on upstairs next...? Not sure what would rectify the security issues as it was really the only thing that may prevent us from staying here in the future. Most people have valuables while on vacation and I'm not vetting the people they are sending, just have to assume they have done background checks and such??? Just doesn't sit well with our family...

    Our vacation rental was absolutely gorgeous. The property was elegant and luxurious with breathtaking views of La Jolla (located on Soledad Mountain Road). My family had a wonderful time at the house. We spent most of the time lounging in the backyard in the swimming pool while utilizing the brand new BBQ grill. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed our time preparing meals in the beautifully designed kitchen which was equipped with stainless steel appliances. The process to book the rental was easy and quick! I would definitely recommend booking from La Jolla Vacation rentals for high quality and affordable properties!

Anytime you are renting for short term there are some things you're just going to have to deal with. If you don't plan out your parking situation based on the size of the garage then you have no one to blame but yourself. If you aren't happy with something about a unit then you need to let them know as soon as you arrive and they will be more than happy to fix it. Daniel in particular is an amazing handyman and will fix anything that goes wrong (within his skill set obviously). Honestly I think Kim and her staff are knowledgeable, accessible, and pleasant. I would have no hesitation recommending them to people who want to rent any kind of property in San Diego.

If you're into throwing lipstick on a pig, this is the place for you. The pictures on the listing did this property waaaaaay too much justice. First - you should know this is a shared building and there is no direct access to the beach from the dwelling unless you go downstairs and out past the neighbors porch which is basically below/beside you. The 1 car garage is beyond tiny and it's a challenge to park in, if you want to exit your vehicle at any point. We had about 6 inches total and that was with folding in the mirrors. Good thing the place reeked of mildew and mold so I didn't eat much. That made it slightly easier to get out of the car after parking it the tiny hole. The window coverings had holes/rips, the sliding door trim in the kitchen area were a hazard. The bathtub on the second floor was big enough to wash a small terrier but not a human. Did I mention the smell? Also, we were not allowed to lower the air to anything below 72. As a woman in her mid 40's that's just brutal (iykyk). Thankfully my kids didn't try to jump out of the windows since there were no screens. Any and all outside critters were welcomed in because I had to keep the windows open to get fresh air in what smelled a lot like an 80's YMCA. There were a few holes in the walls and furniture which really gave college dorm room vibes. For 5k, we expected so much more!

I was initially happy with the resolution Cindy gave to my…read moreissues with her dirty condo and didn't feel the need to leave her a bad review on Airbnb, but she decided to attack me, so here we are. My husband, friend and I rented Cindy's condo for 4 nights. My friend and I participated in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day, 60 mile Walk to End Breast Cancer and the condo was along the route. Perfect. Cindy texted me at 7:30AM the morning I was due to check-in to confirm I was still coming. Weird, but OK. I confirmed. She then asked if I was there for the breast cancer walk and when I said yes, she implied that I was lying (pic of txt attached). When we arrived, we found a simple condo with outdated furnishings. Fine. As we settled in and unpacked, we noticed a layer of dust on all the furniture, stains and splatters on the walls, cabinets, baseboards. Every dish and glass we went to use was dirty. The floor in shower in the primary bathroom was stained. Some pillows on the bed were stained and not only smelled moldy, but had visible mold on them.The floor was so dirty that our feet were black from walking in the condo. Gross. Cindy texted to ask how check-in was and I told her that the condo was in need of a deep clean. Everything was a little grimy/sticky. She apologized, saying that she had a broken foot and didn't inspect the condo before we arrived and offered to have someone come clean it. Between my husband cooking and taking care of us while we were walking 8 hours each day and our dogs being with us, I declined her offer to have someone spend 4 or 5 hours cleaning the place during our brief trip. My husband rewashed towels and blankets, dishes, and cleaned both the bathrooms again to ensure that my friend and I were in a clean comfortable environment. At the end of our stay, I texted some pictures Cindy to let her know that she really needs to talk to her cleaners and do much needed maintenance around the condo because after all the fees it costs $500/night to stay there and it is not worth it for the price. She apologized again and said she appreciated the feedback. She then issued a $500 refund. An amount that she decided was fair based on our experience at the condo, and that I appreciated, though I did not explicitly ask for money back. I thanked her and we continued on our way home. I decided not to leave an Airbnb review because I didn't want to lie and say it was clean and great when it wasn't, nor did I want to hurt her future business since she offered a reasonable solution to the issue and I accepted. There was nothing more to do. I come to find out that she left ME a horrible review on Airbnb and basically accused me of scamming her. She charges a $185 cleaning fee and then asks you to strip all the beds, collect the towels, do the dishes and take out the trash. Since we had to spend hours cleaning the place for it to be comfortable for our stay to begin with, we didn't follow the checkout procedures. Mind you, garbage was collected from around the house and placed in the bin, dishes were in the dishwasher or in the sink, dirty towels were in piles on the floor, so it isn't as though we left the house in complete chaos and mess. She claims we "trashed" the place. Enjoy the pictures of her nasty a** condo.

The home is well-equipped with everything you need for play and entertaining. You can easily walk to the beach in a nice, established neighborhood--taking beach towels and a bag from the supplies. The beach was not crowded at all. I loved sitting at the edge and watching the sun set. It is on a busy street but this is great for catching a ride and heading anywhere. Rocky's (best) burger is so close and has the best pub atmosphere. When you want downtime, the house is ready for you: cable, movies, wifi. But by far the things I most appreciated were in the great backyard. The hot tub lid is fitted with an assist rod that makes it incredibly easy for one person to open. The gas fire pit is also a breeze to light. The owner excels at leaving directions for *everything. If you have a question, chances are it has already been answered in the phenomenal handbook to the house and area. Highly recommended.
