First of all, the speed of their responses and preparation for her discharge (over the holidays no less) was epic. My family needed Hospice carer for my mother and we had no idea how the process worked and needed to rely on someone to explain to us about Hospice and what it entailed. This is a very stressful decision to make for our loved one, but Apreva quickly eased our concerns and uncertainty. From the first contact on the phone to the last contact I can't say enough about the incredible team that cared for my mom. Dr Danque was professional, compassionate and was always available when needed. Initially Dr. Danque came to the house and explained the process and what to expect. She answered all our questions and we stayed until all our questions were answered and we never felt she was in a hurry. RN Kaylyn is an absolute ANGEL! She was the main RN caregiver for my mom for almost a year. Kaylyn was available for my 80 year old Dad who was by my mom's side the entire time. He would contact Kaylyn any time he had a question or concern about my mom. As my mom declined, her medications needed to be changed due to increased pain and phycological issues and Kaylyn was always there to help treat my mom and was a personal sounding board for my dad. Kaylyn has become a member of our family!! Kaylyn's compassion, empathy and knowledge made a difficult time on our lives much better. Knowing if we had a question we could contact Kaylyn was such a relief. And if Kaylyn was not available, Apreva is available 24 hours. There were several times we needed help late at night and during weekends and Apreva promptly sent nurses and/or Doctors to our home. The entire Apreva Hospice provided outstanding service and care to my mom and our family. Apreva offers many services and their help does not end after your loved one passes. They are still there to offer assistance like grief counseling, etc. We NEVER had a problem with supplies needed or medications as others claim in their reviews. A view through the glass doors reveals a beautiful fountain courtyard where recovering patients can walk, relax, and sit in covered areas. The Physical Therapy department has an outstanding reputation for helping patients regain balance, strength, and mobility. Progress notes and medical records are kept in thorough, detailed order. I was very impressed with the physician assigned to my care. One of the first things I look for is compassionate, caring, and helpful nurses and staff. I found this to be true in most cases. Daily activities are thoughtfully organized by an excellent activities director. Nothing is perfect, as some might say, but it is important to look at the whole picture and decide what matters most to you. My positive first impression began when I met Sherwin, the Admissions Director. He worked hard to coordinate everything and genuinely cared about my needs. His assistant, Stephanie, was also very supportive--together, they make a great team. I observed many staff members who truly cared.
