Ugh. Overpriced, tables falling apart, very underwhelming bland food. Only plus is air conditioning inside.

This little bar just off 5th holds amazing memories for me. I was previously there in 2008 and the…read moreplace was CRAWLING with people and owners Big Al and Steve were right in the mix of things and having a ball with their patrons. All the bartenders and staff were really nice. I made my way back to The Beer Bucket last week and it was a slow night but the bartenders were still fantastic. I understand Steve sold his partnership to Big Al a while back. We were cruising 5th and only stopped in to have a beer and check out some very special decor. In 2008 as my husband and I celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary, we brought an old Arizona license plate of my husband's to hang on the wall and it was still there! I definitely felt his presence and love in the house!

They have free wi fi, big screens, and rock music. They sell liters of beer for $60; offer daily 2x1 cocktails, and in case of severe drunkness/munchiness accompanied by no wiliness or possibility of move: they sell pizza ( good smell). I saw all kind of bizarre to normal people there, from all kind of ages. Highlights on a rocker- tough 70 something gringo, who was screaming he had millions while awkwardly dancing oldies (awesome to see when in simple mood). One of the buuuus belongs to the fact of going inside for the 2x1 mojitos deal and had been informed that they didn't have mint. Although they brought mint 2 hours after, they should watch the inventory... And the shots aren't cheap.

Being next to the Carretera 307 it's off the beaten path - but things are slowly moving west! The food and drinks are always consistently great! If fact, we're going tonight! They usually will make a delicious salsa at your table to your level of hotness. A nice variety of molcajetes' and the house specialty Chamorro Don PP will knock you out! My wife loves their tender arrachera tacos! The platon garnachero is an absolutely awesome appetizer - great sample plate. A must visit for any trip to Playa!

Very authentic, great atmosphere and incredibly welcoming staff Hubby got the Molcajete Arranchara, which was incredible-he loved the sauce and the chorizo especially. I got the pechuga de pollo de la plancha, and it was both flavorful and tender, something I haven't always found with this dish. Also worth mentioning were the fresh margaritas and the salsa molcajeteada made table side We also loved the atmosphere and funny signs all around. We actually walked in before they opened, but never felt anything but welcomed. We chose to order in Spanish, but were told that English was an option. We will be back for sure! We both want to try so many other things in their menu....

My husband got sirloin tacos off the rotisserie. I got a pollo plate. So good! We also added on guac, chips and a potato taco. Everything was great. Will come again. No gimmicks, just seriously good tacos. The tacos were packed with flavor, perfectly seasoned, and served hot and fresh every time. You can taste the quality and the technique especially in the way the meat is cooked and carved. Everything felt simple but done right, which honestly is what makes a taco stand out. The atmosphere is lively and busy (for good reason), but service moves quickly and efficiently. It feels like the kind of place locals actually eat at, not just a tourist trap with hype. We fully intended to try different taco spots around Playa del Carmen... but after our first visit, we couldn't resist coming back. When a place makes you change your food itinerary, you know it's worth it. If you're in Playa and debating whether it lives up to the hype it does!!
