My mom was craving sushi and we came here on a mission. The hours were challenging because we got…read morethere 30 min before opening so we just checked out the menu from the outside and waited. The menu was hard to interpret in English but we did our best communicating with our server. We ordered the chirashi salmon, beef gyozas and a special roll of aburi uramaki. The salmon in teh chirashi bowl were huge pieces and the gyoza came out hot. The aburi uramaki roll was flavorful and interesting to have tasted the grilled onion pieces on top. It was more than enough food for both of us and it kept us full but I think we were expecting sushi flavors similar to back home (which wouldn't make sense since we're in a completely different country that has a slightly different style). Like the udon listed, my mom thought it would be the soup style but it was more like black bean noodles so I dunno. Great place for takeout since seating area is small. We were the only patrons eating in so service was on point lol

The salmon was especially tasty in sashimi and nigiri, but they had this tartar salmon dish that was also quite good and very unique. The service was speedy and friendly and I would go back in a heartbeat.

I really shouldn't rate service in other countries but ill say the sushi here was very nice and…read moredecently priced. The menu covered the basics and offered a few novel items. I quite enjoyed the "capresi maki" that combined bufalo moz, raw salmon with basil, rice and sense me seeds that made for an interesting palate. The place was packed for sure!

I'm sorry but this rating requires an explanation. What's that you say? That's what Yelp is for? Oh…read moregood, then I guess I'm in the right place. Let me first start by saying that the sushi is wonderful, fresh, and delicious. The decor is impeccable, and the service is outstanding. Actually, the last part is a lie. The service is terrible, and even beyond the normal terrible service you've come to expect, if that's imaginable. I get it. It's different here, it's not about the service. I'm not even talking about that, I mean it's bad, as in leaving raw fish in the "window" for over 20 minutes, passing it no less than ten times bad service. But I digress. Yes the food quality is great; yes I'm happy to have sushi so close to my apartment, but under no circumstances can I consider paying a premium for the cost to quantity ratio that is nothing short of abysmal. The portions are very small. Normally, I eat one maki roll and some sashimi; here, I needed (not wanted) two maki rolls and sashimi and to be quite honest, I was still hungry. The rolls are rather uninspiring and lack the creativity that I've come to expect, and such is life. At these prices it pains me to say that my hunt for a regular sushi spot goes on. Damn you, Kibuka!
