I still walked in, and even though the lady was the only one working and in the middle of fitting a group of little girls for pointe shoes, she stopped to help us find what we needed. It almost doesn't matter how good or bad Dancin Soul is, because no other store in our neighborhood…read morecarries what they carry, and if you need it you either mail order it or you go to Dancin Soul and buy it there. Buying in person is better, and it's a feel-good store with a fairyland aura. It's owned by Della Stewart. She's almost always there, but she has at least one employee on premises too. At busy times I've seen 2 employees plus Della. If you dance, or if your children or grandchildren dance or take dance lessons, they will have what you need. Della has always been nice to me, but probably sees me as a clueless old man who is buying something for his granddaughter. Which is true, of course. It used to be in a highly-visible location for which it was impossible to find parking. They are now in a funky building a couple of blocks away, with more than enough parking. Enter at the back from Madison Street, just past Grand. (Madison Street is where KFC/Taco Bell is, a block away). They don't refund for returned items; they give store credit. But their computer is very good at keeping track of it; it's indexed by phone number.

Today was the last straw. We went for some nice tap shoes and went there having researched them online at Bloch and talked to our dance instructor etc. This lady does it again, mind you she's not the one helping us but boy does she have unsolicited opinions. My daughter was doing moves in the shoes to see how they fit and the lady was saying things about the fit and how we should go smaller. I had to say at some point that " I know my kids foot and how she doesn't tie things well" just to get her to stay out of it. Long story short we go with the bigger size. At the counter the lady again walks UP TO THE COUNTER and points at the box and said a comment along the lines of " that's the size they chose huh? I don't do refunds!" This is exactly why we go to dressed to dance in rancho Bernardo and avoid this place like the plaque it is. Dance parents, please do your research and follow your gut in regard to how your particular child's foot grows. Had I listened to her the shoe would've been too tight. A $250 shoe that they don't do returns on! The Bloch website itself recommends sizing up 1- 1 1/2 size from your street shoe size. Who in the world does this woman think she is to try and bully me (because let's face it that's what she was doing ) into purchasing a smaller shoe. We got home and voila! The shoes are a perfect fit with a smidge room left for a last minute growing spurt. They fit perfectly fine with no slipping at all. Maybe their customer service is better for the clothing and accessories but for shoes go to Dressed to Dance in Rancho Bernardo. Not once have we had this bullying situation with sizing with them over there.

I went in 2 months ago, in March and placed an order on dance shoes, paid everything including shipping. I was told i would get my dance shoes in two weeks. Two weeks passed and no shoes. So i called them and they said they couldn't find the order and will call me back. Two days later, i still haven't receive any call back. So i gave them another call, the manager then told me that she will placed another order and this time it will arrive in two weeks. Another two weeks came and went, still no shoes, no calls from them. I then called them, again, and was told that the shoes were in back order from the manufacture and they will make sure it will arrived by April 23. April 23 came and went, i called them, the fourth time, the sale person informed me that she doesn't know when i will have my shoes. So i told them i want to return my shoes, she said fine. I brought them in yesterday, May 7th, and they refused to return my shipping fee. I found that is very ridiculous that i have to pay shipping fee for something that i never received. The sale person flatly refused to do it. I am very upset with this place and will never shop there again. They never call me back when they promised to, failed to inform me about my shoes being back-order, then fail to know when i ever receive my shoe then REFUSED to give me my shipping money back. I have been extremely patient with them, and i think i had enough of them. I will report this to the BBB for bad business conduct!
