LA HABANA is one of the oldest bars in Kazimierz - the former Jewish district of Krakow. It is also the first Cuban bar in Krakow, filled with decorations and photos straight from Cuba. At La Habana, you'll find a wide selection of rums, a variety of cocktails, as well as plenty of Cuban and Latin music, and super friendly people behind the bar.
History
Established in 2000.
La Habana was born 25 years ago, when Kraków’s Kazimierz was still a quiet, overlooked district — far from the lively, trendy area it is today. Back then, the streets echoed with history, but few visited after dark. Slowly, a new energy appeared: curious guests and night owls seeking something unique began exploring its cobbled alleys.
Amid this quiet revival, La Habana opened its doors.
Inspired by Buena Vista Social Club and a love for Cuban music, culture, and the island’s warm, timeless spirit, La Habana was never just a bar. It was a tribute — to Havana’s soul, to salsa-filled nights, to the smoky charm of rum and jazz drifting under soft lights. From the start, it was different: vibrant, welcoming, and full of life.
Kazimierz has changed. It’s now fashionable, full of bars, cafés, and art. But La Habana stayed true — a place with rhythm, heart, and a touch of Cuba in every song, sip, and dance.
Meet the Business Owner: Jakub J.
I’ve spent my entire professional life working in and managing hospitality — it’s a world I know inside and out. Some time ago, I returned to my roots and rejoined the family business: La Habana. The bar was originally opened by my father, and for over 20 years it was run with heart and dedication by my aunt. Now, I’m proud to continue their legacy and bring new energy to this special place.
