Lots of events, cultural offer, social meetings and of course: BRUNCH. The system is simple, you can order a big or small brunch, and choose between coffee/tea, bread and sweet pastries. Or you can order something on the lunch menu (we had a fantastic burger, that came with all sort of side vegetables). Then you get buttons to receive what you ordered. It's all self service, no table service. If you like the place so much, you can even become a "tricoteur", a member of the cooperative: you pay 50€ per year and get a free entry to a concert/event, a free juice every time you order brunch and other discounts. We liked the light, the relaxed atmosphere, the spacious place and the yummi food. All the products are fresh, bio and organic!

I am a huge fan of brunch and Oma does brunch fantastically…read more I stayed in an Airbnb just outside of Brussels and the owner of the apartment recommended Oma for weekend brunch and I am so glad that he did. We woke up a little later than planned and hoped that by the time we walked over the place wouldn't be completely full. Thankfully we arrived just in time and were seated right away. The layout of the restaurant is adorable! The wallpapers, lights, tables, and everything else gave the restaurant a laid-back and comfortable vibe. We opted to get the €17 per person brunch buffet. There were cold cuts, cheese platters, yogurt, waffles with butter and jam, salads, pastas, eggs, sausages, soup, desserts, fruits, and much more. The buffet came with your choice of a hot drink (tea, coffee). I thought that everything tasted amazing and it was just a very happy meal. I highly recommend it for brunch in Brussels! The only negative aspect is that it was still hard to justify the price, but it was still worth it!

The food was varied: on the one hand there was the traditional stuff for breakfast (eggs, ham, cheese, bread) and in addition there was a mix of salads/pasta.. These were nice but nothing special (some of them felt like they came out of a tin and were mixed with some herbs/spices) . thats not to say it was a bad culinary experience- no, overall it was fan, but I have eaten better quality food in Brussels. However price- food ratio you really can't complain.

Spaghetti bolo for breakfast? Hell yeah!…read more After a morning jaunt through the flea market where I snatched up a fab porcelain pastry plate for 2E, my local host suggested a mid-morning snack at this 100% authentic Belgian café. As soon as we walked through the door my heart started to flutter. The wood paneled restaurant with its large central Zinc bar, gruff but friendly waiters, formica table tops with little napkin dispensers looks like it hasn't budged in 50 years. In a word: adorable! After examining the menu thoroughly I settled on the house specialty of spaghetti bolo and a café russe to wash it all down. An incongruous blend, I know, but hey, in a 24hr Belgian diner anything goes. Needless to say the bolo was like nothing I've ever had. Served over slightly overcooked vermicelli and topped with grated gruyere, the peppery, chunky bolognaise sauce had a regressive, quirky, heartiness to it that made the whole dish super fun to eat. If I lived in BXL I could see La Clef d'Or becomming a regular post flea market spot.

Dear brunch-lovers, If you are looking for something trendy…read morebut easy-going, Garage à Manger is a great option for you. Here is my list of convincing arguments: - A fixed brunch formula (25 euro) is perfectly lazy for your Sunday. All you have to do is to navigate from one fragrant dish/steaming pot to another, while listening to the chef murmuring the names of the ingredients; - You eat responsibly: the ingredients are seasonable and local. The chef keeps food simple but elegant. So apart from a great eating experience you leave the place with a couple of new ideas to extend your own cooking horizons; - Even though 'garage' is not the most appetizing place you can think of, the setting of the restaurant is very well-turned. The room is big and spacy, but random objects you have all around, clutter it up in a very cosy way. You feel intimate although the place is very busy; - And last but not least, Garage à Manger is connected to a quaint second-hand bookstore called Pêle-Mêle, where you can pay a visit before or straight after your brunch. Kill two birds with one stone - treat your body & mind equally well!
