Their website says they're open until 9:00 PM, but the kitchen closes at 8:30 PM, so keep that in mind if you're planning a late dinner. The décor is very simple--almost nonexistent--but the moment the food arrives, none of that matters. We ordered the Ceviche Carretillero and Jalea de Mariscos. The ceviche comes with fried calamari, cooked to absolute perfection: crispy, flavorful, and some of the best I've had in the area. The ceviche itself was very tasty too! The Jalea is a generous mix of battered and fried fish and seafood. Although we had already tasted some of the seafood in the ceviche, this dish definitely didn't disappoint. The fried fish, in particular, was one of the best I've ever had--fresh, incredibly tender, and practically falling apart with every bite. The service was very good. Wilfredo was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our visit. This place has definitely earned a spot on my list of regular restaurants. I'll absolutely be coming back.

The way the food is cooked here immediately transports me to my childhood home, with mom cooking, yelling at us kids to stop lifting the lids off the pots. This food is phenomenal. The rice and beans, platanitos, tostones, all have such a flavor, and that special ingredient that only a mother has, love. I had the tostones, the wife had bistec empanizado and we took the croqueta sandwich home. Man o man, I dont think I've ever finished ameal without taking a to go container with me. The service is excellent, food is 10 stars! I genuinely feel as if I was in a family members home for lunch or dinner, not in a restaurant. This place should be on a tv show somewhere. I think ill nominate them for Guy's Triple D. Keep up the great work, see you next week. :)

I've made them; they are hard to stuff full and this beef one was very good with an average amount of filling. It wasn't jam packed, but it sure wasn't scrawny. Filling was tasty, pastry was crispy and it came with a sweetened cilantro creme sauce. Sandwich was awesome. Had roast shredded pork, grilled chicken and beef, all of which was seasoned great, very flavorful. Sauteed onions and a few red pickled(?) onions were on top with cheese. Sandwich was pressed perfectly and served with a cilantro cream sauce that was really good but a touch too sweet for my taste. In my humble opinion, an avocado/cilantro/lime sauce would have been better, but that's just my taste. I added some hot sauce (Cholula) that I had at the shop and it balanced the sweet. Overall, really good, and they have Cuban coffee, cafe Cubano/colada, etc. I'll definitely be back. I love Latin/Cuban/Mexican cuisine and what I had was really good. Give it a try.
