What a beautiful space!
The gallery has an expansive view, that curves around on corner, leaving most of the work to be viewable upon entrance. As an artist and curator, I love the set up. Once past the first level where the gallery desk faces a white brick wall(open for hanging), a small incline leads the second level (just a few inches taller) where the walls are long and tall.
Most of the shows are speckled with interesting art, but the new Director is younger, hip, and attractive--he is reshaping the venue into a great space for the Lower East Side aesthetic.
Though the shows have been only okay, the gallery is so beautiful I had to give it 4 stars... hopefully Matt and Ava will be turning the exhibitions around very soon! read more
