She went above and beyond to help me order my father's VA bronze marker. There had been confusion at the VA office and Jean got everything worked out for me and my siblings. Seriously, I could not have done this without her. She even sent me a photo of the marker to be sure it was correct before having it installed. The funeral home there had no idea what to do and serenity funeral home walked them through everything. They sent his clothing with him also so the funeral home there would have everything they needed. They went above and beyond. If not for their honesty and dedication I couldn't have gotten my son back home for burial and would have had to cremate him. Other funeral homes were gonna charge me for a whole funeral which was twice the cost. I called several. I appreciate these folks so very much and highly recommend them. The guy even said he would pray for our family which you don't hear often these days. I have so much respect for them. Thanks to them, the worst time of my whole life was less stressful, which when you're already overwhelmed , it means so very much.

It is so hard to wrap your mind around all the little details that come with planning services like this. I was told on the phone, by Tracy, the director that it's not the first time this (unnamed) person has made this mistake and that they're probably/definitely going to fired. Also that this person is 'going through some stuff'. I asked how many times this individual has done this. My question was sidestepped! I was told they've been very busy. I received many apologies. Was told that the money for the locks would be refunded to my card. Now I have to tell my niece. I personally believe there should be some sort of penance paid. It's not about the money. Everyone makes mistakes. But this is something that cannot be undone. I was very honest and said I don't feel as if I should have to pay for anything, they ruined EVERYTHING! His ashes are solid black. They should be white or a light grey. This means he was cremated at a low temperature. The black is carbon buildup on the bone.
