OLD SCHOOL lot of regulars, fun vibe…read moreSalad was swimming in dressing (too much), fair drink and food prices, I can see the appeal! People eat pizza with fries on it in TROIS rivieres and they serve BUTTER w pizza, Quebecers really appear to like that!?!? I didn't 'love' the pizza

For what it is, 4 stars. The food is abundant, pretty good, fairly priced, and the service is…read moresomewhere between friendly, casual, and brusque, in trademark Quebecois style. Trois-Rivieres is the midpoint, more or less, on the highway between Montreal and Quebec City, so you'll either be buying fuel or be hungry. This small downtown has a main drag, Rue des Forges, which has obviously gone through a small renaissance and has some trendier eateries as well as nicely finished renditions of McDonald's and Subway. However, Bravo, a few streets over, is more like a diner. Not only that, being toward a less redeveloped area, free parking is more readily found. I've eaten here a couple of times. The portions are nicely sized! I had no problem finishing the entrees and the sides. There is a bar, but I went with hot tea, because the weather was turning cool. Ever been in a small town you like, and don't know why you like it? Trois-Rivieres is such a town for me. It's on the Saint Lawrence River, has a port, a small downtown, old churches, a gritty industrial section, the topography slowly climbs upward as you go inland from the river, and one senses that there is a lot of history there. And this little "locals only" (not really) pizza place/diner fits right into the equation.

(Fr plus bas) If look wise, you feel to be transported in…read moreone of these Classic villas kind of restaurants that you can find in NY'S Little Italy, this is it. I'm vegan an eating no gluten, no problemo, a few choices available! Green salad: balsamic a little bit too vinaigretty for me. But fresh yummy veggies. Arrabiata gluten free penne: simply yummy! This sauce is just amazing: perfect mix if tomatoes, garlic, and spices. And the sauce is just thick enough to stay on pasta. Would definitely come back! For a date: I was on a quiet evening. It can definitely sit a lot of people so my guest is it can get noisy. On my night: soft music. Love the soft romantic lighting; feels like we are on a patio at night.

They have a patio out front and an adorable back patio as well. The first visit, I had roast chicken pasta that was really good. I also had a Caesar salad to start. Everyone with me enjoyed their food. The only recommendation would be to have more variety of wines and have them all available. The first night, they had no rosé and the second night, they only had one bottle so we switched to white. The second night, I had a mix of appetizers which was also very good. The pasta from the first night was some of the best I have ever had, though it was heavy. They were busy both nights, but the service was great. I would definitely recommend this spot while in Trois Rivières.
