Its the perfect place for a drink between tapas or to finish off your night- music and people! Drinks are usually 4 euro, unless it's happy hour! Plus he has so many satellites he can find any game you're looking for! In any country! We will definitely be back here for more good times, memories and drinks with Paddy! If you're lucky enough he'll even sing to you!

I love Southern Spain and I am not normally a fan of Brit run bars / cafes…read more However I am going to make an exception for the Anchor Cafe in La Herradura, a lovely unspoilt town on the Costa Tropical. Whilst staying in La Herrdura recently, I was desperate to find a bar that would show the Lions rugby games - not an easy task, as the town is more of a destination for Spanish taking their holidays, rather than northern Europeans. So I guessed I had to break my normal rule and find a Brit bar. I popped into the Anchor, and could not have found a more welcoming place. Its run by a really nice charming English family, who were more than happy to make sure the game was on, at a volume where you could hear the commentary. They also served a different tapas dish free with every drink. There was such a good vibe in there that we visited a few times even when the rugby was not on, to enjoy the ambience and the great food a mix of traditional Spanish with English if you wanted it. It also sits right on the beach so you've got fab views / weather etc. What really makes this a great place is that the owners and their son in law who doubled up as the head barman and head chef couldn't do enough for you.

Close your eyes and you can almost hear Churchill extolling the virtues of England's stalwart nature. As Churchill says, "We will fight them on the beaches, we will fight them in the streets. Of course, Churchill wasn't referring to hunger or thirst, but the reference sort of works for the Britannia. If you're fighting these aforementioned enemies, make The Britannia your battlegrounds for all things yummy and refreshing. The nachos had good chips and slathered with gas station nacho sauce. The chicken on them was very dry. I would not get them. The Supermarine burger wasn't very good either. The patties were juicy, but the flavor was way off. The ham wasn't good either. The only good the was the Super sandwich. That was delicious and why there were two stars instead of one. It's probably our fault for going to an Irish pub in Spain.....
