The prices of drinks is lower than average. we found it very friendly and the customers were mainly a mixture of " Ex Pats" and tourists. No children were present during our visit. It is fairly small but cosy with some pots hanging from the ceiling. We found it very sociable and enjoyable, We can recommend it to anyone visiting the area. The staff was friendly in its small club. They were more than kind and helpful to provide us with a plate of tapas without gluten (for health reasons). Whilst staying in La Herrdura recently, I was desperate to find a bar that would show the Lions rugby games - not an easy task, as the town is more of a destination for Spanish taking their holidays, rather than northern Europeans. So I guessed I had to break my normal rule and find a Brit bar. I popped into the Anchor, and could not have found a more welcoming place. Its run by a really nice charming English family, who were more than happy to make sure the game was on, at a volume where you could hear the commentary. They also served a different tapas dish free with every drink. There was such a good vibe in there that we visited a few times even when the rugby was not on, to enjoy the ambience and the great food a mix of traditional Spanish with English if you wanted it. It also sits right on the beach so you've got fab views / weather etc. What really makes this a great place is that the owners and their son in law who doubled up as the head barman and head chef couldn't do enough for you.

She's all pissed if I can't hear every word she says, even though I don't really care, and she's hardly as interesting as she thinks she is. She was some tour guide in the Albaicin she tells me and busts a gasket because I thought she said she worked at the Alhambra or something. I mean, I was keeping it nice and civil and non political or controversial. Trying to talk about traveling, food, the usual banter when you meet someone. Anyway, she was such a jerk that when she went to smoke a cigarette, I had to immediately pay my tab and GTFO before she came back. It's really not the bar's fault, but y'all should try to keep that woman out of your place. She completely killed the vibe! Ha! I left and wished I had stopped at the EDM dance bar just down the street on the right instead. If you want a nice pub with a better vibe, go to POE a few streets further down. There were two older gents having pints of Guinness on the patio when we came in, but the bar was entirely empty. We had a nice chat with the sweet and friendly Venezuelan bartender. Asked him how the season was going, he said "nonexistent." It's totally dead in the winter in Torremolinos, the beach party town. We didn't have any food that even, just two pints, one Guinness, one Stella Artois. Menu looked to be standard pub grub (toasties, burgers, chips - meaning fries - with things on them, etc.), note the chef is English, but the owner is Irish, and those two terms are not interchangeable, so we were told. There's a snooker table in the back, have always wanted to learn how to play, one of these days maybe. Apparently, there's a rather sizable expat community here in southern Spain, something about the perfect weather. We felt welcome and comfortable, def you should pop in for a pint.
