I expected more from an Irish bar. Expensive drinks, no noticeable food, and not so friendly…read moreservice except for Anna, the only Spaniard working in the place. It is nice enough, but the men working there are distant, cold, and provide less than average service, having to nearly beg for a drink while they cater to their countrymen. My experiences in Ireland were much different, much more positive. €4.80 ($5.25) for a pint of Smithwick's when The Irishman near the port charges just €4 for a superior pint of IPA, I preferred being by the sea and saving a dollar. Their Happy Hour is the best reason to visit, but ask what is half-price before you order as NOT EVERYTHING IS 2 FOR ONE as their adverts claim. Anna is a breath of fresh air even though she is somewhat superficial and does not necessarily follow through with her promises, but her service is top notch. She will make you feel welcome even though she may not be sincere. I have been in rural and urban pubs in Ireland where I was made to feel welcome and paid a fair price ... Claddagh Irish Bar, unfortunately, falls short on both accounts. CombatCritic Gives Claddagh Irish Bar ... And I use That Term Loosely ... 4 Bombs Out Of 10

Live music in the evenings changes the atmosphere as night approaches and the place is open until around 3am, especially over the summer. Oh and it has a pool table I like to lean on from time to time! Make sure you call in for a pint!

Dudes behind the bar were all right, and they played decent music and took requests from the customers, but I sit down and proceed to meet the most "Cara de perra" Spanish woman that I spoke to the entire time I had been in Spain. Truly unpleasant. I try to make some chit chat - trust me that I was not interested in this woman in the least bit, but thought I could at least converse with her - you never know if someone might be interesting but literally anything I say is met with immediate eye-rolling. She's all pissed if I can't hear every word she says, even though I don't really care, and she's hardly as interesting as she thinks she is. She was some tour guide in the Albaicin she tells me and busts a gasket because I thought she said she worked at the Alhambra or something. I mean, I was keeping it nice and civil and non political or controversial. Trying to talk about traveling, food, the usual banter when you meet someone. Anyway, she was such a jerk that when she went to smoke a cigarette, I had to immediately pay my tab and GTFO before she came back. It's really not the bar's fault, but y'all should try to keep that woman out of your place. She completely killed the vibe! Ha! I left and wished I had stopped at the EDM dance bar just down the street on the right instead. If you want a nice pub with a better vibe, go to POE a few streets further down. The owner there was way more interesting and they actually have some dope tapas!
