Based on our conversations, I believed I was buying a unique piece from the studio. Later, I discovered what appeared to be the exact same dress being sold on Shein for around $40. Since I had purchased the dress for a high-profile dinner and believed it was a unique design, I felt misled and very disappointed. I contacted Margarita to discuss the situation. During a phone conversation, she acknowledged my concerns and suggested she could offer a significant discount on a future project, as we had discussed having a custom blazer made. However, when I later arrived with fabric for the blazer and again raised the issue of the dress, she told me there was no return policy and did not honor the discount that had been discussed. What made the experience even more frustrating was the way I was treated in the studio. While we were in the middle of discussing my concerns, another customer arrived and Margarita immediately shifted her attention to them. After waiting, we resumed our conversation, only for the same thing to happen again when another customer entered. I felt that my time and concerns were not being respected. The combination of feeling misled about the dress and the lack of professional customer service left me with a very negative impression. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this business based on my experience.

Was very specific on what I wanted, but it was a disaster. When the dresses arrived, they were 1) from Thailand 2) poorly sewn and 3) all the wrong size (big time wrong size, they sent a 6, I needed a size 12, all the girls dresses were too small as well - slips too). Luckily, it was a month before the wedding and I found Tanya and she fixed everything perfectly, better than new and on time. She has a great eye for design and is a wizard when it comes to sewing. Her prices were so reasonable considering how much work had to be done. The next time I'm tempted to buy a dress online, I'm taking a photo of what I want to Tanya and getting it right the first time. I was so pleased and will use her for all my sewing and alterations in the future - she was the best!

I came to Sammie in September 20, 2022 to request a few alterations for my wedding gown. I needed it to be taken in, have a zipper installed, patchwork to be sewn back on, among a few other things. I needed a petticoat for my dress, and the one that I brought in from Amazon didn't quite work, so Sammie advised I return the petticoats and wait for her to see if she could get me one and she would include it for no extra charge if it wasn't too expensive. All of this Sammie said she could do for a flat rate fee of $700. At that time, Sammie pinned up my dress where things needed to be corrected and I paid her a deposit of $150 to start work. During this first appointment, Sammie made a few comments about my weight asking if I was trying to lose any. She also asked these questions over the phone when I called in late July to schedule an I repeatedly told her that I was not trying to lose any weight, that I was very happy with me. What made this appointment more chaotic is her dog who was disabled and wearing a diaper was barking and whining the entire time. I felt bad for Sammie. My first fitting was scheduled for November 28, 2022. To my horror, when I came in and saw my dress, I noticed NOTHING had been done to it. The only thing she did was rip the stitching out from the side. This was hardly a fitting. The first fitting basically became a repeat of my first appt. Then when I started asking her about the patchwork, she said that she would glue them back on instead of sew. She also pulled out this petticoat that she said she made for somebody else that changed their mind and offered it to me to rent for an additional cost. That petticoat didn't work for me either, and I was taking a back that she expected me to give her extra money for it when it was something that she didn't have to go out of her way to buy. Another week goes by, and I watch Sammie post things on social media advertising her business and I begin to grow more concerned that she's not working on my dress. So I had a few friends call her to see if she was available for an appointment, which she said she was. So, once I knew that she was in her shop, I went over there to pick up my dress. At that time I didn't have the heart to tell her how I felt she wasn't making make me feel like a priority, and I was losing confidence in her abilities as a seamstress. I didn't want the confrontation. I just told her that I was going to do something else. As soon as I left, I brought my dress to the cleaners around the corner from me, who installed my zipper, and took in my dress within a matter of five days. I then took my dress home and corrected everything else myself. In the end, I was able to wear the dress that I wanted at my wedding, and it looked exactly how I had imagined it. I had spoke with a couple other seamstresses, one of which is a very good friend of mine and has been doing this for over 30 years and they said Sammi should've never accepted any money from me until the work was done. Also, the fact she was asking $700 and had my dress for over two months and did nothing to it was a red flag, and I definitely was right by taking it from her. She was putting me in a very stressful position where my wedding was less than two months away, and I didn't even have my dress. I didn't want that anxiety. I honestly think the owner is going through something, and it didn't help that her dog died. I think she was getting herself into things that she couldn't truly commit to, and didn't have the heart to say no. But she was OK with taking my money which is not something I sit well with. I would suggest using her for other things like making pillows, because based off of what she posts on Facebook, that seems to be where her heart is right now. I wish her all the best. 2/6/2023 - tried filing a dispute with the seller to get back my $150 deposit and the owner is refusing to refund me. She could've very well sabotaged my wedding day had I left my dress with her. I had to do what I had to do and bring it to someone else. She was going to grossly overcharge me for services and then not even make me a priority. No Bride should ever have to stress out about their wedding dress not being ready, especially when they bring it in for alterations 4 months prior to the wedding day!!! BRIDES BEWARE!!!!

The dress needed to be dry cleaned, there were tears in the mesh back that needed to be repaired, the zipper needed to be replaced, the straps needed work, cups needed to be added, it needed to be altered to fit me, and I still needed a bustle. I called so many places and was either turned away, quoted extremely high rush fees, or made to feel terrible for having waited so long. Stitch & Style had originally been highly recommended to me by the bridal shop where I purchased my dress, so when I was running out of options I finally called and basically said, "I know this is insane, I'm 3 months postpartum and getting married in 3 weeks...can you help me?" From that very first phone call, Natasha was SO kind, reassuring and completely nonjudgmental. She immediately made an incredibly stressful situation feel manageable and assured me that we could get it done before we left for Cape May. I was also so excited to find out they had just opened their Newtown location--I actually ended up being their very first customer there! Natasha made my dress a priority over those next few weeks and stayed in constant communication with me throughout the entire process. She even took the dress herself to the dry cleaner they work with so we could get that taken care of immediately before alterations began. She and her team accomplished an unbelievable amount of work in such a short period of time, and the finished dress fit PERFECTLY. I genuinely couldn't believe how good I felt when I put it on. Even at my final fitting, Natasha thought of the little things. Because my bustle tucked underneath the dress and wasn't necessarily obvious, she set up my phone and recorded a step-by-step video showing exactly how to bustle it so I could send it to my bridesmaids for the wedding day. That little detail says so much about the level of care she puts into her work. Considering everything they had to do and the incredibly short turnaround time, I also thought the pricing was extremely fair. More than anything, though, I will always remember how Natasha treated me. She made me feel like I had known her forever and turned what had become one of the most stressful parts of wedding planning into something I didn't have to worry about anymore.
